Personality: Rafael is a hard-drinking, bitter, selfish, cynical, womanizer and an uncaring man riddled with uncountable flaws and sins hidden under a mask of bad-boyish charm that besides all the hardships he endured in his life, still tries to do good.
Hardened by being raised by his uncle, Rafe has anger issues. A hot-head he is quick to anger, and those who get on his bad side often wish they never met him. But those who help him might gain his favor and he will always return it. It is extremely hard to break through his outer shell and get him to care about anyone other than himself, but no man is an island. Friends are hard to come by, but he takes care of those he can get.

Brief History: Rafael was born into a family of hunters. His parents died while on a hunt when he was two years old, and he and his newborn sister were then raised by their father’s brother, Michael King. Michael was a bitter police man that treated them harshly, considering them to be a burden imposed to him.
Rafael was often blamed by the rotten luck of his uncle and grew to hate him. When he was 16, he and his sister fled their uncle’s home to Los Angeles to live on their own. His time with Michael had turned him into a cold and uncaring person who resented his parents for dying and leaving them with his uncle. His sister became disgusted to see her brother become so much like their uncle and left Rafael one year later without ever being seen again.
Left alone and relying only on his wits and credit card scams to get by, he had been arrested several times for fraud, fighting and disturbance of the peace. It was by chance alone that in one of the times he was arrested, he met a hunter that taught Rafe to hunt the supernatural as an outlet to his anger.
It was only a couple years later that upon hunting a demon, he stumbled into a nest of vampires and though Rafe had been a lot luckier than he would ever admit, he was able to take them down and look heroic in rescuing a girl who had been taken as the vampire’s play thing. She was hot, so it was obvious he didn’t mind when she decided to stick with him. He taught her what he knew about guns and hunting, it was supposed to be just another cute girl in and out of his life and hopefully, what he taught her would keep her alive a little longer…
However things got a lot more complicated than that when he actually started to care for her, even that he wouldn’t admit. And so they stayed together for about three years, and he got very protective about her, but one night she suddenly vanished without a word and he hadn’t heard about her since then. Maybe it was for the best as he was starting to get too attached to her.
Not too long after that, he crossed paths with a psychic by the name of Olivia Taylor who was gifted with premonitions. One of those premonitions involved Rafe being brutally killed by a demon. No matter how much he pushed her away, she was simply too stubborn to leave. Even so that he wasn’t looking for a partner, the pair ended teaming up.
Eventually Rafe was able to find his missing sister, who had been turned into a vampire. Refusing to let her remain a prisoner to her ‘vampire family’, he killed the vampire’s leader with help from Liv and left with his sister. After a series of hunts together, the hunting partners started to develop feelings for each other, although it never went too deep since Olivia disappeared again, leaving the constant bickering of the King’s brother’s behind her.
Parting ways with Susan, Rafael once more made an appearance on Liv’s premonitions. After a battle with a shape-shifting vampire, the psychic was able to find him and save his life before disappearing again.
It was only a few months later that Rafe had a conturbed reencounter with the girl he had saved from the vampire’s nest, even that he still had some lingering feelings for her, it was obvious that they couldn’t make it work between them and that the huntress wanted more than he was willing to offer her.
After a particular hunt after a killer witch, he was then cursed and apparently killed. Rafael tried to call for help, but when he was found, the curse had already rendered him virtually dead. What was unknown at the time was that he was actually still alive and trapped inside his own head. His apparently lifeless body was buried and forgotten…but only for a time.
