[Description:]
Height: 5'4" Body Type: Slender/Athletic Eyes: Brown Hair: Blond Gender: Female Sexuality: Straight Species/Type: Human/Hunter Side: Good
[Powers:]
Jo is a normal human for the most part. She has grown up around hunters all her life so she has extensive knowledge about the subject. She is an excellent researcher and skilled in various weapons as well as hand to hand fighting and martial arts.
[Likes:]
Her husband, Curse Jordan Beer and Whiskey (Jack Daniels) Music Demon Hunting Her Father's pure iron knife engraved with W.A.H. on the blade
[Dislikes:]
People who are just rude. Demons Being treated like a child. Her mother keeping secrets about her father. Her mother's disapproval and interference in her becoming a hunter.
[Personality:]
Jo is kind of a smart smart-aleck and sarcastic sometimes. She is also smart and resourceful and can hold her own during a demon hunt/fight. She also has a softer side that comes out around certain people especially her husband or when she talks about her family particularly her father who was killed while on a hunt.
Jo is independent and doesn't like anyone telling her what to do. She will rebel. Conflicts with people close to her have occurred (like her mother and Dean Winchester) because of this. She has her heart and mind set on being a hunter and people like her mother are against it. To Jo, it makes her feel like they are treating her like a child and that she can't do the job. She doesn't realize that it is because they care about her and don't want her to get hurt. Or she may realize it but her desire to do the job is too strong not to pursue it.

Joanna Beth Harvelle, also known as "Jo" is the daughter of Ellen Harvelle and William Anthony Harvelle, a deceased hunter who was killed during a hunt with John Winchester when Jo was still a child. Jo treasures her father's pure iron knife engraved with W.A.H. on the blade. She was once in college, but will not return because she "was just a freak with a knife collection." Growing up Jo lived with her mother at Harvelle's Roadhouse, which Ellen runs. While working at her mother's saloon she has met many hunters, many of whom "have tried to get into her pants with Domino's pizza, a six-pack of Budweiser, and side one of Zeppelin IV." She has a bit of a rebellious streak, wanting to go out and hunt like her father. This urge is severely discouraged by her mother.
Jo first met Sam and Dean when they come looking for Ellen after their father, John Winchester, dies. Jo and Ellen end up holding the brothers at gunpoint until they explain their relationship to John. Jo sort of had romantic feelings for Dean and he also stated that he too has feelings for her, but because his father had just died, he felt it was the wrong time and place. As time went on Dean and Jo seem interested in each other.
When Jo returns from a hunt with Dean and Sam, in a rage, her mother reveals to her that John was responsible for the death of her father. Later Jo states that her father died when John and her father set a trap for "some kind of hell spawn" which failed and caused Jo's dad to become unprotected from a demonic attack. Jo only was aware from her mother that her dad had died because of John's recklessness and the demon's attack. It is later revealed by Sam, who is under the possession of the demon formerly possessing Meg Masters that the demon only wounded her father but John actually killed him by way of gunshot, "to put him out of his misery".
After sending Dean and Sam away after having learned the truth, she wants to continue hunting, but her mother says not while she lives under her roof. Jo leaves soon after the ultimatum and sends Ellen postcards every so often. When Sam is possessed by the demon, he shoots Dean in the arm. Jo finds Dean and patches him up. Jo then attempts to follow Dean in the search for Sam, but is told by Dean that she cannot follow him. Jo gives Dean some pain medication and does not argue with him, choosing to stay behind. Dean tells Jo he will call her, and as he leaves, Jo quietly whispers, "No, you won't".
Since the event's with the Winchester's Jo went out on her own and hunted. She hasn't seen Sam or Dean since. Jo kind of retreated into herself and withdrawing from most of the people she knew. At one point she met a man that she fell in love with, but not long after they realized it was more than just a fling he was possessed by a voodoo Queen's Spirit and she lost him. Again she through herself into her hunting and pulled herself away from people. Preferring to work alone. After a few months she happened to end up in Las Vegas on the trail of a vampire she had tracked from Texas. Realizing she had lost the vampire and it would be nearly impossible to find them again in a place like Vegas she stumbled upon the wedding reception of an old friend.
Deciding she might as well stop in and give her congratulations to her friends she ended up meeting a man at the bar. The man was Curse Jordan. They hit it off from the beginning and before the night was over they ended up getting married. Though they had been drinking a lot and they didn't realize it until the next morning when they woke up. With the feeling that something had brought them together and that there was definitely some kind of connection between them they decided to see how the marriage thing worked out. That was on February 14, 2009 when they got married. Over the next couple months they realized that they did love one another and were happy they had decided to stay married.
Then in the beginning of May 2009, they found out that Jo was pregnant. This forced them into making some decisions, needing to find a way to settle down a bit but still be able to keep hunting. They decided to buy a bar and live in New Orleans.

Jo
You learn a lot about someone when you embark on a road-trip with them. So the drive from Las Vegas to Texas was a wealth of knowledge for the new couple. Jo was increasingly intrigued by the depth of the handsome man who was now her husband. He was smart, resourceful, sweet, caring, easygoing for the most part but a bit of a stubborn streak, or maybe more determination than stubborn. Not to mention the man was downright just damn sexy.
They talked a lot on the drive. The subjects varied but they definitely were on their way to getting to know each other better. Jo watched him while he spoke and drove. Taking in his body language. The way he smirked or the way his eyes sparkled and crinkled up when something made him really smile. She felt a flutter in her heart every time she realized that he was smiling like that at her. Which seemed to be happening more often as the trip went on.
It was nice to be able to talk about 'everything' and not have to explain all the supernatural stuff to him. He already knew. They were different enough that it was interesting but they had enough in common that they could relate. It seemed that they clicked, that they connected somehow on more than one level. It was like he was able to touch her soul and it made her feel good.
After awhile Jo drifted off to sleep. Even curled up in the front seat of the truck it was probably the most peaceful sleep she'd had in quite a while. A contentment she hadn't felt in a long time covered her like a blanket while she slept.
Jo stirred and rubbed her eyes as she felt something gently shaking her. Blinking her eyes a few times to try and get her bearings she sat up. She heard his voice.
"Hey Darlin... Wake up... We are about to embark on your dream quest."
He had this amazing voice. It was definitely masculine but not too deep, he spoke softly with that Texas drawl that made her want to melt.
Stretching and stifling a yawn she ran her hands through her tousled hair. Looking over at him she smiled warmly then looked around taking in her surroundings. It seemed to be a shopping mall. Jo raised her eyebrow at him and grinned again.
"OK cowboy. Let's go. Lead on."
Chuckling she undid the seat belt and pushed open the door. Jumping down from the truck she shut the door and walked around the front then waited for Curse to catch up with her. This was his territory. For now she'd let him lead the way.
