Max stared between his baby and everyone else without being able to keep that big grin from his face that he was sure was making him look silly. Well, he couldn’t help that as he looked at that amazing baby in his arms, it was the most valuable thing in the world for him. Off course the woman inside the room he just left was just as important to him, but for the first time there was something that rivaled.
His eyes caught all the expressions on those before him. Bobby had a happy look on his eyes, maybe even proud he might say. Lexi could not be his blood, but Max knew she was like a daughter to the older man. And in that, he was family to him as well, the baby grandfather.
Ben, who was like a son to Max had fallen at sleep. He wasn’t sure of what had happened with the werewolf deal, but he was sure that had an effect on the boy, not to mention the birth of the baby. So it wasn’t all that surprising that he had fallen to sleep. It was already late and all the night emotions should been surely exhausting. The only reason Max hadn’t collapsed was that he was too hyped because of the newborn he had in his arms.
Jo looked at the little one with an amazed look on her face, she was probably thinking of her own babies that would make an appearance soon enough. He had been right there, waiting for the baby to be born so he figured he had an idea of how she felt.
Curse seemed almost scared of the baby, most likely worried that he would soon be holding a pair of them. That alone would likely be a shock. Hell, it had been a shock when Max himself had found out he was going to have one.
As Jo and Curse moved back to seat, Bobby caught Max attention and asked about Lexi. Sure the man would be worried about his surrogate daughter, he should have thought about that earlier but he was too concentrated on the newborn. “Lexi is alright, she is just resting now. She had a full day and she more than deserves it.”
Then glancing back to the others and then to Bobby, he continued. “Why don’t you take the others to our place? Ben needs a bed and Jo and Curse can stick around there if they want to…”
