After everything he had been through, Azrael had finally found it.
WICKED.
The building stood there, seemingly plain and innocent, but he knew what lurked inside its walls. He'd traced her, the nephilim, to this place. Though the ritual had failed to be completed, thanks to Heaven's interference, a few things had managed to slip through the connection, namely a name, and a place.
The place was the club before him. The name, was Lexi Blair. Thanks to human ingenuity, finding the girl with those two pieces of information had been fairly simple. All it took was access to a computer, which was easily found at a local library, and there it was. If he'd wanted, he probably could of found out more about her, done some research of his so-called descendant. It would have been easy enough. But in the end, he decided to take this slowly, and approach the situation with a more reproachful and tactful advance.
Despite the power he and his brothers held, Azrael still couldn't help but be envious of the humans. They were ruled by free will and emotion, which in turn awarded them with a sense of purpose and accomplishment. They lacked true power, and yet they made up for this weakness in the abilities they displayed, their talent to both create and grow. If he had not been trapped amongst them for as long as he had been, and seen it with his own eyes, he would have never believed it all. Humans truly were an...interesting species.
For a moment, Azrael paused in front of the club, his resolve faltering. Should he be doing this? Did he really have the right to interfere with the girl's life, and reveal the truth to her?
As if on cue, a rare but unmistakable voice answered within his own mind. 'Why are you even debating this? Of course you need to see her! She's in danger, and you're probably the only one with the power to protect her, the voice argued. Of course, it was Jasper.
Though Azrael had taken 'ownership' of the body as it had died, the body still belonged its human host, Jasper Moretti. At the moment of his death, Azrael had made Jasper a deal; if Azrael took control of his body, Jasper would survive his death, and live on in a new way. Given the current situation, it was obvious that Jasper had agreed. Both Azrael and Jasper inhabited the body, which was a somewhat unique situation. When most angels took human hosts, they didn't ask the permission of the host, and nor did they even consider allowing the host's consciousness to exist with them; they assumed total, unrelenting control.
Azrael, over the years, had grown to appreciate the human minds of his hosts, and remained cordial with them until they eventually parted. Jasper, above the rest, had probably been the host he had related to the most. There were no doubt times when Azrael ad to push Jasper's mind out of the way, and keep him hidden, but for the most part Jasper was always with him, always a part of him.
After a moment, he sighed, grinning to himself. 'Well, you've got a point there,' he mentally replied. 'Demons are going to be after her soon, but if I do this, that means that the others will come after her too. Demons she can probably deal with, but angels? I can protect her from a lot, but you know with that damn Seal, I can't protect her from everything.' He wanted to protect her, but he wasn't going to start a war with Heaven over this, on top the Apocalyptic war going on now.
'Stop finding excuses,' Jasper chastised him. 'Just go in there, and get this over with. I mean, if it were me, I'd want to be there for her, no matter what. Blood is blood after all.'
Well, he couldn't exactly argue with that. This Lexi was kin to him, part of him. And if he was going to go about this in the human way, then it would be best to be there for her. After all, humans had the tendency to always be there for their so-called families.
Grumbling, Azrael finally started to walk forward into the club. "Fine," he submitted to Jasper. 'You win.' Azrael didn't need to see his face to feel the smug confidence that Jasper's mind radiated.
It was early, so there shouldn't be anyone here besides the, and maybe the other co-owner of the club. Lexi apparently had a partial ownership in the club, along with a man called Erik Kincaid. If the man was present, Azrael could easily dispose of him. If he was going to do this, he needed to do it alone with the girl. This was not something privy to outside ears.
Instinctively knowing the front door would be locked, he disappeared, and then reappeared within the confines of the club. "Hello?" Thought he was technically already past being polite, Azrael didn't think it wise to scare the girl. "Is anybody here?"

Closing her eyes against the pounding headache that was developing, Alexis Blair rubbed her temples and stared down blankly at the invoice in front of her. The club was quiet and Erik had left to meet with the liquior committe an hour ago. Soon they would be open for business and the blond truly couldn't wait for that. Now, however, she wished it all to perdition.
Sighing, Lexi got to her feet and went out to get another cup of coffee. Her mind was filled with the information the angel had given her and how on earth she was going to tell her husband. Shaking her head ruefully at herself, she thought it ought to be alot easier to admit to being part angel than it was to admit to being part demon but it didn't seem to be the case. When it was her life alone effected, it was one thing. This, however, effected their month old infant.
Making her way downstairs, the pretty new mother was so lost in her thoughts that the surge of power she felt at first didn't register. In a club of this type, powers came and went but the one she felt now was like that in the nursery. Instantly on guard, the blond set her mug down carefully and then heard the greeting echo out.
"Hello?"
Stepping warily from the back room, Lexi moved out in to the open club area and stared across the room at the very man she'd seen in her vision. Forcing herself to keep her expression neutral, the blond was unable to keep her fists from balling as she meet his gaze.
"What are you doing in here? In fact... Never mind that. Who are you and how did you get in here?" she said with a cool tone even as she took in the man's totally appearance. "Do you have business with Erik or with myself?"

The minute the girl stepped into the room, Azrael's breath caught in his throat. It was as though a reincarnation of Elizabeth was standing before him; she had the same golden hair that draped gently behind her back, and those same blue eyes that shone with both strength and confidence. For a brief moment, the nostalgia claimed him, and Azrael had the urge to step forward, and embrace his Elizabeth. But just as quickly as the urge developed, he bit it down, knowing full well that this wasn't Elizabeth. She was dead, and the girl before him was all that was left of her...of their union together.
Reigning his emotions under control, Azrael's crystal blue gaze smoldered. "My business is with you," he assured her, his tone calm and subtle. And yet despite this tone, he was anything but calm.
How the hell was he supposed to approach this situation now? Okay yes, he'd found found her. And yes, he'd finally made contact with her. But beyond that, what the hell was he supposed to do, sit down and have tea and crumpets with her? It wasn't like her could just blurt out, 'Hey, I'm your ancestor! I had an affair with your however-many-greats grandmother, and now because you're my descendant, Lucifer and his minions after you and your son. By the way, how've you been?'
In his mind, Azrael heard Jasper sigh in exasperation. 'You know, you really suck at this whole being human thing, right?' The bitter resentment in his voice was more than obvious.
'Well what do you suggest I do, smart ass?' Azrael's voice shot back, clearly irritated. 'I can't just blurt out the truth you know. This isn't just some simple father-daughter meeting or anything. We're talking take the family, and then throw in all this shit about the Apocalypse and angels and demons. This girl probably doesn't even know anything like me exists!'
Jasper's resentment slowly faded, and was replaced by something Azrael was somewhat unfamiliar with. It was almost...pity. 'Okay, just take it slow,' Jasper advised him. 'Try taking it one step at a time. She if she'll play her hand first. It'll give you the upper hand in gauging what she knows.' His advice was definitely logical for the most part.
"Who I am, and how I got in here doesn't matter," he assured Lexi. "I'm here to warn you. If I'm right, some....strange people are going to be after you soon. Dangerous people. You need to get you and your son out of here before anything happens." He was trying to be vague, but at the same time not too vague. Lexi needed to know the danger of the situation, even if she didn't know all the details. Azrael just hoped she didn't get the impression that he was threatening her.

For long moments, the pair seemed to simply stare at each other while they both struggled inwardly to figure out what to do. Something about the man seemed to draw her but she had no idea why. However, Lexi found she couldn't be scared of him either. That in and of itself was the only reason she didn't try to blast him with her powers.
Moving carefully around the bar, she crossed her arms as she waited for him to speak and took in his appearence. It was definitely the same guy she had seen in her vision but ... how could that be? What was he doing here and what did he want?
"Who I am, and how I got in here doesn't matter," he assured Lexi. "I'm here to warn you. If I'm right, some....strange people are going to be after you soon. Dangerous people. You need to get you and your son out of here before anything happens."
Sighing out loud, the pretty blond shook her head and then did something that suprised the angel. She started laughing. Her eyes danced with rueful amusement as she brushed a long, pale lock of hair back from her face.
"Um..... I hate to break this too you, sir.... But if you've come here to warn me about that, your a little to late. For the last 8 years I've been taking on "dangerous" people and I've already had more strange "visitors" than I care to think about. Since your hear...I can only assume you know about them and have the misconception that I'm not capable of taking care of myself. I assure you... I am quite capable."
Then, moving to the bar, she poured out two shots of whiskey over ice. Setting one on the bar counter, she meet the man's gaze levelly while letting him see the steal in her soul.
"Running is not an option. It never has been... There comes a time when you have to take a stand for whats right and what you believe in. Anyone who brings a fight to my door... Well, lets just say they might be in for a suprise. I'm no ones fool and I'm no ones door mat."
As she spoke, there was no evidence of false bravado. There was only ringing truth and sincerity. Having faced down yellow eyed demons and taken on more than one fool who thought her weak, she was prepared for a fight. She may not have been the most powerful bloke on the block but she wasn't afriad of dieing to protect those she loved.

The girl's laugh definitely shattered any innocent illusions Azrael had about her. She seemed to lack the fear he was certain his words would inspire, and instead reacted with a twisted sense of bravado and confidence. It was the strangest thing he'd ever seen. But then again, she didn't know, at least fully know, what she was up against. He assumed from her comments that she must have faced at least demons before, although probably not any angels, but still. The things coming after her weren't normal demons by any standard. She might have dispatched some low-life scums, but with Lucifer free, a whole new class of demons were emerging.
'Tell her about Lucifer,' Jasper urged in his mind. 'I bet she won't be so nonchalant about everything if you mention that, you know.' There was a light, almost daring aspect to his tone.
In his mind, Azrael growled. 'This isn't a fucking game! I might have shown you a lot about everything, but you have no idea how bad the situation is with Lucifer involved. The guy was practically one of my closest brothers, and I betrayed him. You have to remember, I was the one that led a Coup d'état against him, which turned the tide of the war. He probably blames me for having lost everything and fallen. I don't doubt that he wants me more than just dead; he wants me to suffer.' At that, Jasper stayed silent.
If everything was like it had been before, Azrael wouldn't be worried. During the war, he was almost just as powerful as Lucifer, if not as vicious. But while Lucifer had been trapped in Hell, probably stewing in hate, Azrael had been walking the earth, weaker than ever. The Seal he had been cursed with bound most of his higher powers, and if he were to have to battle Lucifer now, he would surely fail.
Feeling slightly against the odds, Azrael followed Lexi to the bar, and nodded curtly when she poured him a drink. Technically angels weren't supposed to partake in the 'sinful' actions that humans enjoying (drinking for instance), but Azrael had long since damned Heaven and its damn rules. He grabbed the shot, and downed it almost instantly, reveling in the shooting warmth that spread down his throat and into his chest. Jasper's body was more than accustomed to the trials of alcohol, which made Azrael no lightweight.
After placing the shot back on the counter, he fingered the glass absentmindedly, unsure of what to say next. "You don't know what you're up against Lexi," he warned her. "What's going on now...let's just say you've never faced anything like this before. You couldn't have. Both sides are going to come after you, each for their own reasons, but you can't fight them all, no matter how powerful you think you are. You can't protect everybody. How are you supposed to be there for both of them? Even if you manage to keep Sebastian safe, what about your husband Max?" Okay, Azrael had lied before. He had done some research on the girl, most notably her familial ties. After all, mentioning family and danger had to be the best surefire way to get them to act accordingly.

Sighing, Lexi tossed back her drink and then gazed across the wooden bench between them. Her eyes fairly glowed with suppressed emotions as she leaned forward on her elbows. Instead of answering his words, she turned the conversation back on him.
"Who are you and why are you trying to scare me off? Why do you care what happens to me or my family? Forgive me but it seems a bit strange for a guy to walk in off the street trying to tell me what to do and he doesn't even offer and explaination of why."
As she waited for his response, the beautiful blond watched his expression closely. Her keen gaze noted the shadows in his eye and she would have sworn there was another presence there with them.
"As far as "others" .... They have already been here. One in particular has already warned me that the good guys might also be after me to kill us. I don't intend to let that happen. I didn't scum to a damned yellow eyed so I don't plan on letting an angel get the best of me either."

Well, this certainly wasn't going to be easy. The minute Azrael brought up her husband Max and her son Sebastian, Lexi pulled the standard human approach to everything; she got defensive. Like a bout of fire, she turned the conversation back on time, questioning him on why he was so interesting in getting involved and warning her. One thing was sure about Lexi; she had definitely inherited Elizabeth's spark. That was probably one of the things Azrael most about her, her unbeatable spirit. She had always been different from the others, more courageous. She had always said that she never feared Death, which he'd always found ironic, considering how unknowingly Death had been standing beside her all along. He'd never told her the full truth of who, and what, he'd, but he was sure that she must have suspected, at least in some manner. And yet, she'd never been afraid of him. That same spitfire that she'd held, had seemingly been passed on to their descendant.
Deciding to keep things vague, Azrael spoke carefully. "Knowing who I am and what my personal stake in all this is, well that's just going to get you killed faster," he told her quite honestly. "If they know I've made contact with you, or that you know about me, they'll probably consider you too much of a liability. That, or they'll use you to get to me." Already, that was probably saying too much.
But just who had come to warn her? That little end bothered Azrael. If someone knew to warm her, an angel as he'd gathered, that meant that someone had gone off the reservation. Someone had betrayed Heaven, and was trying to go the moral path, cause of course Heaven was far from moral.
'What do you mean, "heaven's far from moral" Az?' Jasper voice piqued up once again. 'I'd have thought anyone that betrayed Heaven would be the ones we'd want to avoid.'
For a brief moment, Az laughed in his own mind. 'You're assuming that we're dealing with the Heaven you know, the Heaven and God and everything you were raised to believe in. The real thing is far from the stuff you hear about in churches. Heaven plays dirty too, and they can be just as discriminatory and racist as humans can. They're not too fond of nephilim...offspring of humans and angels, which means they'll go after Lexi just because of that. That also means that if an angel went ahead and warned her about everything, that this angel is going against the party punch line.'
'Do you know who the hell wold do that?' the suspicion was evident in Jasper's voice. 'If someone went and turned against Heaven to tell her that, they must have known you pretty well. Who'd risk their neck for you?' Jasper had a very, very good point.
Who would risk their ass for him? Azrael didn't have a good many angels that still thought well of him. And certainly he didn't know any willing to risk their necks for him and those close to him. Honestly? I have no idea.'
Glancing up at Lexi, Azrael wore a puzzled expression. "If you don't mind me asking, who was it that tipped you off? Which angel risked Heaven's wrath to warn you?"

"If they know I've made contact with you, or that you know about me, they'll probably consider you too much of a liability. That, or they'll use you to get to me."
Shaking her head, Lexi eyed him ruefully before replying. Her voice held a hint of coolness as she tossed down the rag she'd been using to wipe up the bit of whiskey that had dripped on the bar.
"Sorry... afraid your a bit late about that. For one thing, there are angels that already know I exist and I've all ready been approached about some damned prophecy that my birth is supposed to have fulfilled. Honestly, I don't really think it matters to much who you are because they are going to be gunning for me either way. I have it on good authority that my kind are an abomination in God's eyes and need to be destroyed. My thoughts are it isn't God's whos afraid of my existance but the very angels that are suppose to follow his will."
Meeting his gaze levelly, the beautiful blond placed her hands on the bar and leaned forward as he talked again.
"If you don't mind me asking, who was it that tipped you off? Which angel risked Heaven's wrath to warn you?"
"Actually... I do mind you asking... What makes you think I would give you his identity when you won't give me yours? Trust is a two way street pal and I'm no ones fool."
As the pair stared at each other, a keen observer would have noted the same set jaws and the identical intelligence that flared from their glimmering eyes. Even the tense set of their stance would have marked them for what they were. Though generations apart, everything that had been born of that fateful union had come together in the young woman facing her ancestor. If the angel bothered to look, he would have seen his own fierce determination and temper lurking in the replica of his love, Elizabeth.

The minute Lexi stonewalled him again, Azrael's jaw tightened, his eyes narrowing in repressed anger. What little patience he had was wearing thin, and the only thing keeping back his rage was the importance of the girl and their ties together. If he could, we would simply whisk her away by force, and hide her along with her son. That would put an end to it, and make sure that everyone was safe. But he knew once he did that, Lexi probably wouldn't forgive him. Brute force probably wasn't going to win any father-daughterish competitions.
For a moment, Lexi's insolence broke through his patience. "Don't you get I'm trying to protect you here!?" he yelled, grabbing the shot glass and throwing it angrily across the room. "I can't tell you anything! I just can't!" Why couldn't Lexi understand?
Azrael knew he was being vehemently stubborn, but why did Lexi have to be the same way? It was just so...frustrating! He understood the need to be independent and all, but this was just plain suicidal! Okay yes, he himself would probably act like this, but that was because at least he knew he could deal with it!
Jasper laughed smugly. 'Well yelling at her isn't going to help you know,' he reminded Azrael. 'If she's anything like you, well, all you've managed to do is piss her off then. And something tells me this is not the kind of girl you want to get into a fight with Az.'
Though he knew Jasper was right, Azrael simply growled back angrily. 'Oh shut it!' He yelled back, his rage bubbling.

Treb had another delivery for Wicked and he had learned that someone was usually in the main room so he made his way there first.
As he walked into the large room he saw Mrs. Blair and a stranger glaring at each other as if they wanted to beat each other to a pulp, and from the twin looks on both faces and the hard lines of determination both wore it was clear to see that they were related in some way. Not only did the pair look like each other, but both had a similar scents. Not quite the same, but kindred, almost like the two were distance relations not close.
”Oh excuse me. Didn't mean to get in the middle of a family argument. I'll just leave you two alone to work it out.”
Treb backed out of the room, and went to find Erik to sign his order sheet.

"Don't you get I'm trying to protect you here!?" he yelled, grabbing the shot glass and throwing it angrily across the room. "I can't tell you anything! I just can't!"
With the smashing of the glass, Lexi's own temper ignited. However, instead of getting volitale, her eyes got colder and her tone as cool as a north breeze straight off the Alaskan glaciers.
"I don't really care why you are here but if you want to behave like a two year old in the midst of a temper tantrum, you can sure as hell see your way out the same way you came in. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out."
Just as it looked as Armaggedon might start in the very club they stood, another voice intruded.
”Oh excuse me. Didn't mean to get in the middle of a family argument. I'll just leave you two alone to work it out.”
Wiping her head around to stare at the back of the retreating shifter, Lexi's mouth dropped open and for a moment she could only sputter.
"Hes.... No, we're not.... I don't know... "
Then, suddenly, as if GOD himself had just cleared the truth to her, the young witch KNEW. Her expression went from angry to confused and then back to angry as she slowly turned her gaze back to the angel before her.
"Your him, aren't you?" she asked in a low, calm tone that would have had anyone who knew her well diving for cover. "Your the angel who started this whole mess...."

Lexi responded to Azrael's fitful rage with a cold sense of immunity, which in fact only served to piss him off more. Someone simply standing up to him he could deal with, but being called a 'two year old'? Now that was just plain insulting. If this girl was anything other than who she was, he would smite her where she stood. Hell, she'd be lucky if even a pile of ashes remained after he was done with her. And yet despite this fact, he bit down his tongue, and endured with words with a (barely) silent disposition.
As her tirade ended, and Azrael merely stood there, stewing with the fire building in his chest, suddenly someone else walked in. The man, who Azrael could tell was other than just human, took one look at the two of them, gauging how he had just interrupted their argument, and then apologized. What sent ice through Azrael's veins however, was man's mention of it being a 'family argument'. He didn't realize until that moment how alike the two probably seemed in demeanor.
In his mind, Jasper chuckled, his tone clearly amused. 'Well, someone spilled the beans! Least you don't have to do it after all. Though, what are you going to say now?'
Azrael stood there for a moment, frozen and unsure. He hadn't some here to tell the girl the truth; in fact, that had been the farthest thing on his mind. He doubted whether he would have ever planned to tell her the truth at all. This was just one of those secrets that were intended to stay buried, and left unsaid. And yet, it had found its out so easily.
It didn't take long for Lexi to pull the pieces together, and figure it all out. Though her tone was calm, Azrael could see the anger hidden in her graceful features; he supposed that this was the time most people would probably flee her in fear...but not him.
Mirroring her cold demeanor, Azrael glared at the girl with a gaze just as icy as the color of his eyes. "Unintentionally," he stated quiet plainly. Despite him merely standing there, his body practically radiated power and rage, a sure sign of the being that was buried within it. Now that she knew...hopefully, for her sake, she'd be more respectful.

"Unintentionally,"
The coldness and indifference that Lexi heard in those words was enough to freeze her where she stood. Suddenly, she was the lonely little girl again who wondered why she had been abandoned on a bus station floor. Why her parents hadn't loved her enough to stick around. In those moments, it was all she could do not to lash out at the creature for the hurt he caused with his callous words.
Turning her eyes down to the glass she held in her hand, she forced herself to rinse it out and set it to the side before her glinting blue eyes turned back to the angel. For a long moment, she held her silence as she stared at him and then finally, she spoke softly.
"This meeting is over. Please leave."
Her voice was so low that he would have barely heard it. In order to cover the hurt and confusion she felt, the young woman stepped away from the bar and turned away. Her hands shook with the supressed need to inflict some sort of harm but she tamped down the powers that shimmered just under the surface.

Despite the spasm of pain Azrael saw cross over the girl's face, he didn't flinch. The hurt was more than evident in her eyes, and even the power he felt within her was churning with emotion, trembling with the urge to be released. But none of it pierced the archangel's iron will; he was fire and brimstone, iron and steel, diamonds and bone. He was the ultimate end, Death, and he did not quiver in the face of man. The girl's emotion did not pierce him; he wasn't human, so why should he feel guilty as humans did?
As the girl turned away from him, and ordered him out, Azrael was happy to comply. This girl didn't need him. She was headstrong enough to make her own choices; if she died, and took her family with her, it be of her own doing, and not his. He'd tried to warn her, and she'd stubbornly refused to subvert her will.
Suddenly, beyond Azrael's doing, his right arm swung upward of its own accord, the fist slamming into the side of his jaw savagely. Pain blossomed over the side of his face, causing him to cry out in surprise as he gripped the bar beside him, using it to steady himself.
Not even paying any mind to Lexi's presence, Azrael's voice rang out angrily. "What the hell was that for!?!" The rage in his tone gripped the air, and almost on cue, the air cooled icily. Only person could have done that.
Jasper.
'Well you fucking deserved it you asshole!!!' Jasper yelled angrily. Azrael could feel Jasper trying to wrestle back some control of his body, presumably to beat himself up some more, but now that Azrael wasn't distracted, that feat with futile. 'This girl just found out that you screwed around with her grandmother or something! In her mind, she's probably pissed because she thinks you didn't care about her or her family enough to show up till now! She doesn't know that you just found out about her!' The empathy in Jasper's voice was overwhelming. 'So get of your damn high horse and act like a human dickhead!'
Growling, Azrael rubbed his cheek sorely, mulling over Jasper's words. He had a valid point, one that, in his rage, he hadn't acknowledged.
Glancing up at Lexi, Azrael could feel Jasper's presence in his mind, and the expectation it held. "I'm sorry..." he apologized, gritting his teeth. "I'm sorry I was so...inconsiderate..." Though the tone of his voice was probably anything but apologetic, the intent was clear enough, at least, as clear as it was in having the angel of death apologize.

Because her back was turned to the angel, Lexi missed the internal squabble that had ensued in the mean time. When she glanced back, she saw him rub his face and then lean heavily on the bar. Sighing, the blond witch turned and crossed her arms. Her expression was blank as she tried to find a way to salvage this "reunion".
"Yeah... me too. I don't take to orders well, if you can't tell. It drove my husband nuts for the first few months we dated. If he could have gotten away with wrapping me in bubble wrap, i think he would have done it. You two would actually probably get along just fine with that sort of thinking." she said ruefully.
Moving back towards him, she leaned a slender hip on the counter and tried to grin.
"You know... You haven't even told me your name. If you want me to understand you better.. You're going to have to be a little more forth coming. I'm operating on very little knowledge beyond the fact that my blood line was cursed by a demon and now I find out my ancestor was an angel... Its all a bit much to take in. For all I know, you could be setting me up for something just like the yellow eye and I"m really fond of my life. Look at it from my view, I've been hunted, tortured, and threatened constantly most of my life. It hasn't lent to a very trusting nature. You could be what you say you are... Or you might not be. How am I to be sure?"
Hoping against hope that the angel would at least think about her words, she continued.
"Not only that but two guys that I love like brothers haven't exactly had an easy time with your sort. For creatures that are suppose to be righteous... You all seem to have some mighty flaws sucha manipulation, dishonesty, and treachery. Although I don't hold you ALL responsible for the actions of a few, I do know enough not to trust most of you any further than I can throw you. Besides which, running away is not going to solve anything. What kind of life would that be? Always looking back over our shoulders? Would you really have us be as cowardly as all that? They would only find us eventually.... and maybe without the back up we have here...."
