There was no doubt that the place was rocking as New Years Eve exploded to life and the crowd thronged into the most popular nightclub in New Orleans. Party goers mingled and drank as music poured out of the speakers and alcohol flowed with ease born of long practice. Waitresses and bartenders hustled to and from tables and behind the solid mahogany counters as patrons flocked to the burn.
Stepping out of the back bathroom, Lexi took one last look in the full length mirror and nodded in satisfaction. The sexy little number she wore was gold and white with short skirt and a simple gold collar that left her shoulders bare. Her long, blond hair was pulled up on the sides but cascaded down her back in a manner that teased her audience as it played peek a boo with her bare, tanned back. Blue eyes glimmered as a smile stole over her face and then she was striding out to the stage on a pair of wicked stiletto heels that only added to her goddess like statuesque.
Gaining the stairs, she took a deep breath and glanced up to nod at the guitarist who signal to her partner and then their opening song was starting. Grinning wickedly, she laughed as she arrived on the main stage and looked across at Erik. His teasing smirk was all she needed to arch a brow and make a mock bow to him.
Turning to the crowd, Erik introduced them all and then turned to Lexi as he started to sing.
"I remember every little thing As if it happened only yesterday Parking by the lake And there was not another car in sight And I never had a girl Looking any better than you did And all the kids at school They were wishing they were me that night And now our bodies are oh so close and tight It never felt so good, it never felt so right And we're glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife Glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife C'mon! Hold on tight! C'mon! Hold on tight!"
Grinning, Lexi joined in.
"Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night"
Erik grinned and winked at her as the crowd recognized the old tune.
"I can see paradise by the dashboard light"
Having done this duet a million times together, their voices blended to perfection as Lexi sashayed towards him impishly and played off his grin.
"Ain't no doubt about it Baby got to go and shout it Ain't no doubt about it We were doubly blessed 'Cause we were barely seventeen And we were barely dressed"
Shaking his head, Erik smirked and dived into the next verse.
Baby doncha hear my heart You got it drowning out the radio I've been waiting so long For you to come along and have some fun And I gotta let you know No you're never gonna regret it So open up your eyes I got a big surprise It'll feel all right Well I wanna make your motor run
And now our bodies are oh so close and tight It never felt so good, it never felt so right And we're glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife Glowing like the metal on the edge of a knife C'mon! Hold on tight! C'mon! Hold on tight!
"Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night I can see paradise by the dashboard light Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night Paradise by the dashboard light You got to do what you can And let Mother Nature do the rest Ain't no doubt about it We were doubly blessed 'Cause we were barely seventeen And we were barely-
We're gonna go all the way tonight We're gonna go all the way tonight's tonight... We're gonna go all the way tonight We're gonna go all the way tonight's tonight..."
Stepping back the two partners gazed over at the keyboardist who took his turn and made the crowd roar.
OK, here we go, we got a real pressure cooker going here, Two down, nobody on, no score, bottom of the ninth, There's the windup, and there it is, a line shot up the middle, Look at him go. This boy can really fly! He's rounding first and really turning it on now, he's not letting up at all, he's gonna try for second; the ball is bobbled out in center, and here comes the throw, and what a throw! He's gonna slide in head first, here he comes, he's out! No, wait, safe-safe at second base, this kid really makes things happen out there. Batter steps up to the plate, here's the pitch-he's going, and what a jump he's got, he's trying for third, here's the throw, it's in the dirt-safe at third! Holy cow, stolen base! He's taking a pretty big lead out there, almost daring him to try and pick him off. The pitcher glances over, winds up, and it's bunted, bunted down the third base line, the suicide squeeze is on! Here he comes. squeeze play, it's gonna be close! Heres the throw. heres the play at the plate. Holy cow, I think he's gonna make it!
I gotta know right now! Before we go any further! Do you love me? Will you love me forever? Do you need me? Will you never leave me? Will you make me so happy for the rest of my life? Will you take me away, will you make me your wife? Do you love me!? Will you love me forever!? Do you need me!? Will you never leave me!? Will you make me happy for the rest of my life!? Will you take me away , will you make me your wife!? I gotta know right now Before we go any further Do you love me!? Will you love me forever!?"
Jumping to his feet, Erik began backing way and jamming on his guitar.
"Let me sleep on it Baby, baby let me sleep on it Let me sleep on it And I'll give you an answer in the morning Let me sleep on it Baby, baby let me sleep on it Let me sleep on it I'll give you an answer in the morning Let me sleep on it Baby, baby let me sleep on it Let me sleep on it I'll give you an answer in the morning"
Having so much fun with the song, the pair continued until the last verse arrived.
Erik: let me sleep on it......
Lexi: I gotta know right now.......Do you love me will you love me forever do you need me will you never leave me will you make so happy for the rest of my life will take me away will make me your wife i gotta know right before we go any further do you love me will you love me forever.
Erik: Let me sleep on it..
Lexi: Will you love me forever?
Erik: Let me sleep on it..
Lexi: Will you love me forever?!?!?!
Erik:
I couldn't take it any longer Lord I was crazed And when the feeling came upon me Like a tidal wave I started swearing to my god and on my mother's grave That I would love you to the end of time I swore that I would love you to the end of time!
So now I'm praying for the end of time To hurry up and arrive 'Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you I don't think that I can really survive I'll never break my promise or forget my vow
"But God only knows what I can do right now"
I'm praying for the end of time It's all that I can do Praying for the end of time, So I can end my time with you!!
Grinning like a loon as the last chorus rang out, Lexi threw an arm around her old friend and they bowed to their roaring audience. The pair made a stricking picture on stage with their blond haired beauty but Lexi's eyes sought the crowd for the one mans approval she cared about. He'd be arriving soon and it was not only New Years Eve for them but their wedding anniversary too.

One of those bustling waitresses happened to be the one dubbed 'The Mouse' by the head bouncer, otherwise known as Kayla to the rest of the staff. She hurried between tables, sliding drinks from her tray to tabletops, taking money and smiling brightly to the revelers as she graciously accepted tips and just as graciously endured the occasional gropes to her backside and leering gazes at her body. It was part of the job.
The little red cocktail dress she wore was festive and flirty even though it covered all the necessary parts of her anatomy. It did show of the svelte, petite figure she had and her long briwn hair was blown out straight, curling under at the ends, make-up on just so. She'd even put on the red lipstick that the other waitress had suggested even though it made her feel like a total Jezabell.
She paused at the bar, leaning on it a bit in those red high heels and calling her order over to Ben the bartender. Her attention was drawn to the stage as her bosses sang and she grinned like a loon. She certainly had the Hero worship going on for Erik was clear and she had a little girl-crush on Lexi. If there was one woman that could pull off an outfit like that it was her. She still hadn't gotten up the nerve to really talk to her. Too afraid that she'll be caught working off the books but she seemed nice enough and Kayla had heard nothing but good things from the others about her.
She moved away from the bar once her order was filled and headed to the little alcove of people sitting around, balancing the tray carefully as she weaved in and out around the people packed into the place.

Giving a kiss to his kid’s forehead before turning over the baby to the caring hands of Betsy, Max gave the housekeeper a warm smile and then turned towards the mirror to adjust his tailored white suit. The white suit seemed a bit flashy for his taste, but it was New Years after all and he wanted to look worth of spending this night alongside a certain blonde goddess. “Don’t forget the gift boy,” Betsy said to him in a mockingly stern tone, that caused the hunter to smile once more and give a quick kiss to the housekeeper’s cheek. “Yes ma’am. Don’t worry Betsy, I got it. Like I would forget my wife’s anniversary gift,’ he replied with a chuckle just as Betsy shoved him out of the door. The lady was more than a simple housekeeper and the occasional nanny, she was a mother figure to him, someone he always respected and the only woman that got to boss him around. The ride for the club was a quick one and the place was already hopping by the time he got there. The New Year’s bash was a visible success and the vibe from all the smiling and celebrating faces was contagious. He had lots to celebrate himself, being alive, being perfectly happy in his marriage’s anniversary and a blessed by a beautiful son, not what he’d expected his life to be but he couldn’t wish for it to be any different. And the fact that he couldn’t take his eyes off the blonde goddess with that sexy dress and fantastic voice up there in the stage was more than reason for him to grin as he held on to a small box that contained his anniversary gift to Lexi, a white gold and amethysts bracelet, adorned with an ancient incantation to ward of evil.

JoJo walked into the club with Curse. It was even more packed than usual. New Year's Eve was always a big deal and the party was in full swing. It was especially a big deal this year since it was her first anniversary. Well, technically after midnight it would be their anniversary but special just the same.
Jo wore a red dress that was open in the back with criss-crossing straps and a slightly flowing skirt. As they made their way to the bar she heard a familiar voice coming from the stage. Lexi and Erik were singing a duet. It was a classic Meatloaf song and it made her smile. Resuming their march through the crowded club they arrived at the bar.
Smiling up at her husband, Jo stretched up and gave him a kiss before they placed their drink order. Her arms draped around his neck, sighing slightly she spoke into his ear so he could hear her. "I can't believe we've been married a year now. We have twins, a house, a bar. How could so much happen so fast?" Jo left out the part about him almost dying. That whole incident was still difficult to talk about. Though they had mostly put it behind them, there were still lingering issues with that. It wasn't something you could actually forget. Tonight was about happiness, fun and celebration. Nothing was going to keep her from enjoying it.

Another year, another 365 days of putting up with an annoying existence. As usual, the club’s head bouncer kept himself to the shadows, keeping an eye on the party goers and the would-be troublemakers flirting shamelessly at the bar. But, all things considering, it hadn’t been a particularly bad night for the club, fight-wise. It seemed like most of the new year revelers were more content to drink, laugh, dance and cheer at the bands on stage. He was still trying to decide if he liked it or not. Damn, but his fingers weren’t getting that telltale itch. Leaning sideways on the bar, he watched as Erik and Lexi climbed on stage, smile widening slightly at the song that they’d chosen. The two were a perfect match, both in voice and in representing the club…and hell if he didn’t feel the urge to climb up there with them. He’d actually made a point of getting cleaned up, more than normal. He was still in black, but instead of the normal black shirt and ‘don’t fuck with me’ scowl, he’d given in to one of the nicer waitress’ chiding and, shudder shudder, went shopping. Aka, Ty Gla’Dour actually looked like a human being, in the black shirt and suit jacket. So much so, as a matter of fact, that…GODS…there were currently women waggling their fingers at him. And attractive women, at that. Damn. There went his anonymity. He just had to come in to work and not hide in his place as he normally did. He did so hope that he wasn’t getting addicted to this godsdamn place, with its godsdamn people and— And…damn. Talk about some cleaning up; the little mouse of a waitress who’d just started work at the bar was definitely earning her fair share of attention as well. Not to mention that she attracted certain kinds of attention, thus giving him something to do. As Erik and Lexi jammed onstage, Ty turned to do what he was good at; kicking ass and taking names. As some stupid schmuck pinched Kayla’s ass, then went for another waitress that came along, the bouncer got to have his fight, dragging the drunk man out with a practiced ease. Another year, another fight. Hello, 2010.

Kalya nearly spilled her tray of drinks as one of the other waitresses nudged her and nodded over in the direction of the bar. She wouldn't have believed it if she hadn't seen it first hand, the head bouncer all slicked up and looking like something off the cover of a magazine. He wasn't scowling or growling and oh my did he wear a suit jacket well? She swallowed hard and righted her tray before it could dump everywhere, blushing as the other waitress nodded knowingly and went on about her work, smiling as she went. She pointedly began to try not to look towards Ty. Not needing that distraction. The man made her far too jumpy.
Just as she managed to enter the alcove and deposit the drinks she was pinched and jumped with a little yelp, not having expected it at the time and though she really wanted to give the man a piece of her mind she just smiled and shook her finger at him as she grabbed her tray and hurried off to another section to take some orders, not seeing it as the other waitress nearly got pinched too. Not seeing it as Ty came pushing his way through the crowds and grabbed the guy , hauling him up out of his seat by his collar and began dragging him out of the club.
It wasn't till she heard the ruckus behind her and saw the others looking that she too looked over, her eyes going wide and her mouth dropping a little before she remembered to shut it. Part of her wanted to see the guy tossed out on his ass but part of her didn't want to be the cause of a fight either. Didn't want to cause the club any loss in business. Smiling at the people who's orders she'd just taken she heads to bar quickly and gives her order to Ben. A glance is given to the couple that just walked up the bar, the pretty woman in her red dress and her beau, and a small smile given as well before setting her tray on the bar top and trying to catch up with Ty and the man. Was she crazy?, part of her mind said as she hurried after the pair, her heart pounding hard in her chest.
Maybe she was, but she pursued them still as she followed them to the doors, watching to see if they headed out them. A quick glance over her shoulder was given as she looked back at the bosses on stage to see if they had noticed, hoping they hadn't and nearly running into the man in all white that had just entered the club and was mesmerized by the stage show. "Oh.. I'm so sorry sir." she says in a slightly rushed way, trying to move around him.

Yes, Max was mesmerized by the show on the stage, more so of the blonde in the stage and the fact he couldn’t get over the fact he was damned lucky he had come that night for a hunt in Oklahoma and that he had decided to stop to take a drink before heading back to New York.
Back then he was the incorrigible playboy who had just spotted a gorgeous woman, and by the end of the night he discovered he had found way more than that. In their second date that ended up being a week in Spain, he already knew he was falling for her. It wasn’t easy, there were obstacles along the way and they were separated twice, but he was certainly glad they managed to make it work between them.
And it was then that an unfamiliar face bumped into him. Back in Oklahoma he knew all the workers in the Cat’s Meow, he even came to help as a bouncer at a time when Lexi needed someone to fill up, but there in New Orleans there were some faces he wasn’t familiar with. One of them was the waitress that had just bumped into him and almost spilled drinks on him, causing Max to doubt if it was wise wearing a white suit…how did he let Betsy convince him of that?
Giving a smile to the waitress to let her know that it was alright, he saw as she tried to move around him. “Wait, what is your name?”
Oh great, it may have sounded he was trying to flirt with her. “Uh, I mean, I know most of the people who work here but I don’t believe I saw you before…”

Well, wasn’t that looking like a regular ol’ little shin dig? The music was spilling out onto the street as drunkards staggered in and out the front door, merriment practically oozing from every gap it could find. The festive lights, flickering and dancing in the night, threw crazed shadows over the pavement, and the sounds of laughter and applause from inside was far too tempting for the lonely little ex-pilot to resist- not tonight, so far from home and everything that was warm and familiar. She skirted around someone who’d clearly had a tad too much, slumped in the gutter as his friends tried to rouse him to some form of sobriety, then pushed into the club, squinting into the shadows and immediately regretting her decision. Well... this was a bloody stupid idea. So many beauties, swanning around in revealling dresses with bodies a girl would kill for, so many handsome men watching as they sauntered on by. Goddamn..
She was suddenly acutely aware she wasn’t much dressed for a party- she didn’t think she’d ever owned a pair of high heels or a dress in the entirety of her life. Instead, she sported her usual garb of slightly creased grey jeans, worn on the thighs and around the knees, tucked into calf-high and sturdy black boots with thick, flat soles. On the top just a plain black tank top, a single silver cross dangling about the hollow of her throat, and her dark hair tied up in a loose ponytail, looking slightly dishevelled from her days exploration of the city. She stuck out like a sore thumb, and she saw a number of the clientele eye her with what could only be described as disgust as she slipped through the crowd, sticking to the shadows.
There was a couple on stage holding the audience in rapture- she had to admit they had a good sound, but the song choice wasn’t to her liking, in all truth. Still, she applauded with the rest when they came to the end, avoiding catching anyones eye- she wasn’t shy so much as disinclined to draw attention to herself on her first night here.
”Meatloaf? Never was a fan, personally...” She muttered to herself, trying to find somewhere discreet to get to where she could keep herself out of trouble, if only for a time. Inside her head, as always, came that longing little whisper, pawing at her thoughts and trying to drive her towards the bar. What’s the harm in one, ey? Just one little one... But that was just it, wasn’t it? One became two, two became three, three became four and next thing you knew you were waking up in hospital with your stomach pumped, a bust nose and cracked ribs because you’d been insistent some guy was ‘looking at you funny’.
Rubbing her fingertips over her temple, skirting a waitress and a man in a sharp looking white suit, she seemed to drift unconsciously towards the bar, worrying her lips with her teeth. She wore no makeup- her lashes were dark enough as it was and she found lipgloss only irritated her, sticking to strands of her hair and getting in the way, although it might prevent her ripping bits of flesh off the inside of her mouth whenever the craving started to take ahold. She rubbed the three long, ugly claw marks that ran from shoulder to wrist on her left arm, fingertips probing along the red knots as though trying to seek a bit of comfort, a bit of self control... Not that it did much good. Brushing past a man in a dark shit and pants dragging a grab-happy customer outside, she found herself at the bar, eyeing the bottles behind it hungrily, drumming broken fingernails on the surface.
”Double whiskey and coke. No ice.” She gave a grim smile as she was rewarded her drink and turned to look back at the stage- the striking couple were still there, perhaps preparing to do another number. So long as it wasn’t Meatloaf, she was all for it. They had good voices. Settling back, she took sips of her drink tentatively, savouring the taste and grinning at the warmth that flooded her stomach, quieting the voice that gave her such a headache through the day. There was a couple to her right who looked blissfully happy, draped over one another, the girl in a pretty red dress, and she felt the pain in her heart only increased, panging uncomfortably against her chest. Her thumb slid over her ring finger, feeling the faintest indent where a ring had lived for almost three years, then swallowed her emotion and schooled her face into one of placid enjoyment, finishing her drink in about three gulps. It was a party, she was going to enjoy herself... But if she was going to stop dwelling in the past, she was going to have to stop thinking, and that meant she was going to have to keep drinking.
”Just a double whiskey please. No coke.”

New Years Eve and their one year anniversary all rolled into one. Truth be told it was actually Max and Lexi's anniversary but since he and Jo had been married at 12:45 New Years Day in Las Vegas... it had actually just been splitting hairs for what day their own anniversary should fall on. After all, for them, it had still been New Years Eve even if the clock had already tripped.
The fact that they were now celebrating the coming year with friends and family only made him all the more grateful for the fateful night a year ago. Who would have thought it would end up like this? Certainly not a former Navy Seal who was on a hunt for his sister and no inclined to marry for a few decades or so yet. At least, not until destiny hit him square in the face with the one woman he couldn't walk away from and ended up making him the most bedazzled father of twins on the planet.
Just that thought had him grinning wildly as they entered WICKED and Jo lead him to the bar. Dressed in a pure black suit with a black pinstripe shirt underneath, he cut a devastating picture as he walked beside his beautiful wife and then pulled her close as they waited for their drinks.
Her words caused him to glanced down at her and a wide grin spread over his lean features. Although he was well on his way to recovering from the gruesome torture and wounds he'd recieved from his last mission overseas, he'd still to gain back all of his normal weight and his body was framed by lethal muscle. Only love shined from his eyes, however, as he kissed his wife and chuckled.
"Yeah.. and what a year its been... Although there are a few things I would gladly do without.. You and the twins aren't one of them."
Holding her close, Curse nodded at the bartender who brought their drinks and then eyed the club. Unofficially, he and Jo were both there to keep an eye on things while still enjoying themselves. Curse had to admit that a nice fight might take the edge off some of the adreneline pumping through his blood but hoped for Lexi's sake that things went smoothly. He'd found himself anxious for action lately and knew his wife was feeling the tension too.
While they were both happy in their lives, neither one were content with the sedate, suburban life that they'd seemed to settle into. They were warriors and hunters first and foremost and a war was brewing. Letting his eyes travel over the party goers, he saw Max talking with a little waitress and Tyreese going for someone with a particular gleam in his eye that didn't bode well for his opponent. Curse didn't know quite what to think of the man yet but Erik and Lexi both liked him so he had to give him the benifit of the doubt. He definitely wasn't a dude you wanted to piss off and meet in a dark alley though.
Continueing on in his observation, Curses eye fell on a pretty woman not far down the bar dressed in worn jeans and boots. Since everyone else was decked out to the nines, she definitely seemed out of place. Making a mental note to keep an eye on her, the warrior turned back to Jo and smiled.
"So Darlin.. you want to dance?" he asked.

New Year’s Eve was to some a time of starting fresh, and that’s exactly why Jaden Fallon had left Boston for New Orleans. Left his whole life behind for a chance of building a new life where no one knew of him, of his past, or heard the name of his psycho father.
Not that starting a new life was an easy task, he was practically broke and there was no job lined off. No car, living on a mockery of an apartment building…the bullet holes and broken window due to a recent run in with some Romanian mobsters actually fitted perfectly with the decoration of the place. Apparently there weren’t many jobs around for an ex-cop that knew nothing besides busting heads and fixing cars.
Today however was a time to relax and have a little fun, so dressed on a decent pair of jeans, black boots and a white bottom up shirt, he came to this place that seemed a lot of people were waiting in line to enter. The music was good to say the least and definitively there were quite a few cute women walking in and out of the place.
Walking towards the bar, he asked for a soda. Even if it was a celebration he figured it was better stay away from the alcohol. One drink let to another and before he knew he would be passed out on the floor or exchanging punches with the first idiot that bumped into him. So yeah, stick to the soda.
As the bartender handled him the glass, he took a seat on a stool and glanced around. Alright, so far no Romanian mobsters, crazy looking girls or bears in sight. So it looked safe enough to try to relax a little.

Taking a bow to the crowd, Lexi grinned at Erik and then conferred with the huge shifter. Going over a list of songs, she nodded to the next choice and smirked. Her blond hair floated around her as she sashayed across the stage and listened as the keyboard picked up a beat. Her eyes scanned the crowd and then found a few familiar faces in the crowd along with the beloved one of her husband. Giving him a wink, the slender blond meet his gaze and then realized he was talking to the new waitress. Smiling, she shook her head good naturedly and then turned back to her partner just as he started to sing. It wasn't one of his favorites but it was one that the crowd never seemed to get tired of and she absolutely loved the beat. Erik's idea of music was hard rocking stuff but the crowd got a variety when they came to Wicked. They prided themselves in doing something for everyone. ERIK:Now as the summer fades I let you slip away You say I'm not your type But I can make you sway
It makes me burn to learn You're not the only one I'd let you be if you Put down your blazing gun
LEXI:Now you've gone somewhere else Far away I don't know if I will find you But you feel my breath On your neck Can't believe I'm right behind you
BOTH:'Cause you keep me coming back for more And I feel a little better than I did before And if I never see your face again I don't mind 'Cause we gone much further than I thought we'd get tonight
Sometimes you move so well It's hard not to give in I'm lost, I can't tell Where you end and I begin
It makes you burn to learn I'm with another man I wonder if he's half The lover that I am
Now you've gone somewhere else Far away I don't know if I will find you But you feel my breath On your neck Can't believe I'm right behind you
'Cause you keep me coming back for more And I feel a little better than I did before And if I never see your face again I don't mind 'Cause we gone much further than I thought we'd get tonight
Baby, baby Please believe me Find it in your heart to reach me Promise not to leave me behind (Promise not to leave me behind)
Take me down, but take it easy Make me think but don't deceive me Torture me by taking your time (Talk to me, talk to me)
'Cause you keep me coming back for more And I feel a little better than I did before And if I never see your face again I don't mind 'Cause we gone much further than I thought we'd get tonight As the pair sang, strobe lights flashed wickedly on the dance floor and bodies moved to the beat. The club was filled to the roof with noise as alcohol and people flowed through out hte building. It was definitely a packed night and as the song wound down, Lexi was glad that Ty was on duty along with the others. No telling what kind of action could occur tonight!

Gideon didn’t know what the hell he was doing here. Ringing in the New Year by celebrating in a club full of inebriated humans? He should be home trying to sort through the all the things he needed to do in order to become a living citizen again. Things like explaining to the social security office he wasn’t dead, getting caught up on all his back taxes, renewing his driver’s license (oh the horror!) Instead here he was, dressed up (as dressed up as a newly reformed wolf could get) in a nice long sleeve black button down rolled up to the elbows and a pair of dark charcoal slacks; his long blonde hair pulled back into a leather tie at the nape of his neck. Gideon merely stood in the doorway for a moment taking it all in. His hands were tucked into the pockets of his pants as his stormy blue eyes danced over the throng of happy people crowding the club. The blaring music pumped through the loud speakers and hundred of bodies whirled and grinded on the dance floor. Gideon had to smile sheepishly as his gaze caught on a pair that was so into each other the woman had her skirt up her thigh as she pushed against his groin; the male’s head tucked into her shoulder. They were as close to having sex as a couple could get with their clothes on. He cleared his throat as the song ended and the two separated, making a beeline for the bathrooms for privacy. Damn. Lucky Bastard! Making his way back to the bar Gideon forced his way between several drunks taking up space and slapped a ten on the counter. He ordered a beer and turned his attention to the stage as he waited. A stunning blonde and a fair-haired male had taken the stage to sing a duet that the werewolf remembered right off. It had been one of his favorites. When the tender finally came back with his brew and his change Gid took a heavy pull and turned to face the crowd again. His eyes narrowed in question when he caught a whiff of another wolf among the partiers. Actually, there were several different smells amidst the aroma of sweat, liquor and sex. Odd scents that were only discernable because of his supernaturally heightened sense of smell. His brow furrowed deeply as swiveled his head around to try to find the location of the other wolf. It was useless. There was too many others aromas overpowering the place.

For the final time, Jace felt the idiot behind her grope her ass. Taking a deep breath and stuggling to hold on to her temper, the vivacious little blond closed her eyes and tried counting to ten. Unfortunately, the brush of another palm made her grit her teeth loud enough she was sure the bartender heard it.
Why on EARTH had she ever thought stopping in here for a drink would relieve some of her stress? The fact that it was New Years Eve should have been her first clue but .. no.... Here she was in stiletto heels, an itty bitty dress and dealing with Briareus, the hundred handed one. So much for not wanting to be alone tonight. At the moment, she was wishing she'd gotten a hotel room, filled a hot bath and passed out early in a comfy bed.
Instead... here she was at Wicked.
The club was so packed that she was bellied up to the bar waiting for her drink while Mr. Hands thought the press of the crowd gave him leave to cop a feel on places of her anatomy he had no business feeling. What in the hell happened to CHIVALRY? Striving for patience, she'd not wanted to cause a scene but damn... There was only so much a woman could take before she had to take matters into her own hands, per say.
Turning slightly, she leveled a look directly at the culprit responsible and the upward movement of her knee caught his attention quiet nicely. Keeping a sweet smile on her face, she arched a brow and kept her voice low enough so only he could hear the threat she muttered for his family "jewels". Sputtering and spouting, the fool made his apologies and then decided that a drink wasn't really what he needed at the moment.
Inwardly sighing in relief and allowing a smirk to spread across her pretty features, Jace managed to place her drink order and then step out of the way so some other poor fool could take her place. Everyone around here seemed to be a part of a happy couple so she weaved in and out of the crowd until she could lean on the upper banister over looking the crowded dance floor. The music was definitely nice here, she thought as her eyes scanned the crowd and took in the live band. The pair on stage definitely had their act down well and kept the party moving.
What she wouldn't have given to be up there with them but that was no longer part of her life. Now, her life simply consisted on getting by day to day without ending up dead. That thought sobered her a bit as she turned away from the stage and took in the rest of the club.
Letting her gaze continued on, she smiled absently and sipped her drink. Once in awhile her eyes would stop and study a certain individual before dismissing them. Just as she was about to turn back to the stage, a young man caught her eye and she found herself frowning as she watched him take a drink. His eyes shifted almost as restlessly as hers and he seemed to be searching for something in the crowd. Although she couldn't see anything underneath his "human mask" she instinctively knew he wasn't fully human either. The hair on the back of her neck prickled even as she watched him with wide eyes.

Kayla looked to the door, seeing that bald head headed that way, towering over a see of revelers and bit her bottom lip, hoping not to lose track of their progress. She wished her sense of politeness wasn't so deeply ingrained in her in that moment, a thing that she will be glad of later. Her momma would be mortified if she knew she even thought about being rude and walking away.
She blinked a little at the question and was brought up short, a bit surprised and a hint of blush creeping into her cheeks. But the polite thing to do was to respond, even if she really didn't have the time for it at the moment. One hand extended out to the man she spoke in a slight rush of breath "I'm Kayla. Kayla Mur..." in her fluster she almost slipped, saying her real name, recovering quickly. "Robinson...Kayla Robinson. I'm new." she explains further, a nervous tic of her own.
Glances were stolen over to the sea of people, trying to spot the bald head but not seeing it anywhere. Crap. She fidgets a little in her red high heels and bites her bottom lip looking back to the man. Should she take his drink order or excuse herself? She isn't sure. Either way it could be ugly. If she didn't offer it would be bad for business and he clearly knew the Bosses. Word might get 'round to them that she wasn't doin' her job. If she did stop and take the time then she might not be able to stop the scuffle outside. Then the man could get hurt or...no she didn't even think about the other possibility. Biting her bottom lip she hoped that maybe..just maybe she might be able to do both.
"Can I get cha anything Sir?" she asks and puts on the bright smile she doesn't feel at the moment, determined to be professional.

The waitress seemed a little nervous as she addressed him and Max hoped she hadn’t taken his question as if he was trying to flirt with her. He knew his wife trusted him completely and that they wouldn’t have to worry her dropping the whole club over their heads just because of a misunderstanding. Even that he had seem her frown when other women looked his way…not that he had eyes for anyone else regardless.
But a quick glance towards the direction she was looking revealed Tyrese dragging some man out. So the big guy had a fan it seemed, one that looked eager to go after him. He knew the big guy was a pain in the ass and a hot head, and perhaps allowing the girl to go after him would be for the best.
Giving her a little smile, he shook his head. “No thanks, I’m fine. I think I will just wait for my wife and enjoy the show,” he said stepping aside so she could go on her way.
