If there was a time when Vic felt like a superstar, this was it. A lot of cute girls gazing at him with pretty smiles, cheering and tossing ‘wows’, ‘uaus’ and oggling him as if they wanted to devour him as he mixed drinks and tossed bottles around with a winning grin on his face. Yeah, he did love this job.
The place was packed for sure, but he was a seasoned bartender that could handle his own and the more he got used to the bar, the more relaxed he got and the more fluid things had became. Not to mention that once he got past Yolanda’s permanent annoyed stare, he could believe they were getting around very well.
Now everything was going according to plan until one very annoyed and very, very big biker came to scream at a cute little blonde about why she had left his side to stand there and oggle that ‘kid’ behind the bar. And it was just a matter of screaming turning into name calling and the guy raising his hand to hit the girl.
Sure Ilani had told him to not get into fights, but there wasn’t a bouncer close enough to stop it and Vic’s honor wouldn’t allow him to just stand there and do nothing. So when his hand moved grabbing the biker’s wrist before he could touch the woman, he wasn’t surprised when the guy didn’t look oh so happy. “That isn’t the way to treat a woman friend. Come on dude, let it go and I will give you a free drink?”
Ok, the fist coming in his direction was a good indication that the guy wouldn’t accept his offer. Good thing that Eden had taught him how dodge, he would sent her a thank you card if he knew where she had vanished too after all those years. Now he had two choices since he couldn’t dodge it all night, punch the guy like he deserved…like about a dozen times would should be enough to knock down someone that big, or stand back and wait for the bouncers to make their way through the crowd while he kept trying to avoid getting hit and just maybe manage to not lose the job.
Well, he decided the second option was the best way to go and backed long enough for the bouncers…all the five of them that took to haul the big biker out. Running his fingers through his hair, Vic gazed at Ilani with an inquisitive look. “This is the time those friends of yours take me to that room in the basement you mentioned about?”
