The rest of the walk home had thankfully been uneventful. One more thing trying to leap out and attack would have just been one thing too many and frankly Kayla was afraid that the next thing that popped up would be a zombie or a mummy. They'd already dealt with werewolves tonight. Her small hand had found it's way to rest on the crook of Ash's elbow, resting there as they walked, not really thinking anything of it as she had to take longer strides to keep up with his steps.
His skin was warm, solid, comforting after the little scare with the people that shed their skin and grew fur, not to mention welcome in helping to keep her small hand warm in the cool night air. She managed to avoid looking at the slogan on his shirt as well as at his groin area again, much to her relief. That had been entirely too embarrassing for words.
While he still sported the dark blue t-shirt that boasted the phrase in big yellow letter (5 Dollar Footlong) a large yellow arrow pointing to areas south on his anatomy, she also still wore her bloodied jeans and the jean jacket with it's blood marked cuffs and sleeves. The turquoise shirt was under the jacket, looking at clean at least. Her right cheek was a little scraped up, nothing major, just a small case of brick rash from being tossed against a building and sliding down it. It had already begun to scab over in tiny little protective shells.
Her long brown hair fell loose and free tonight, left to curl into it's natural loops and whirls of wave with only the front part by her forehead pulled back. It really didn't hide anything on her face and she really[/i] hoped that Ty would still be at the bar, not home yet. While he'd still kept her at arms length since New Years Eve, not letting her in, not acting on that little confession that had been made in the bathroom with such fervor...he was still extremely protective of her.
It was good in a way....safe. But it also left her horribly confused and frustrated. Since that moment he had not tried to kiss her or hug her and tried his best to avoid touching her altogether.
The apartment building was more like a duplex and situated well off the regular tourist routes in a quiet little area. Trees loomed up over the buildings with their draperies of Spanish Moss hanging here and there as they stood guardian to the building. Her keys pulled out as they approached she looked up to the tall silent warrior. "Well...this is it. Home Sweet, Temporary Home." she joked as they got to the outer door and she led the way in, drawing them into the little hall that was between apartments.
Whispering as she slipped her key in the lock she said. " There's an elderly lady that lives in the other part. I try to keep quiet for her sake." It was mostly true at least. She did usually try to keep quiet for the old woman's sake but tonight it was also for fear of waking Ty if her were at home. "If the owner is here he'll be asleep downstairs right inside the door here so we'll have to be extra quiet." she spoke as she turned the key in the lock and eased the door open slowly.
