TreyTrey pulled into the parking lot of the twenty-four hour diner. Thinking it would be a good place to get some coffee at this hour of the night, plus they could grab a bite to eat if they wanted. He climbed out of his car and walked over to meet Shane. Waiting until she was ready, then walking with her toward the diner.
Holding the door open for her he let Shane pass in front of him. Once inside he quickly made it back to her side and scanned the room. Nudging Shane gently he pointed out an empty booth in the back corner and headed in that direction.
Just as he slid into the seat the waitress showed up. She set some menus down in front of them and asked them if they wanted something to drink. "Yeah, I'll take a coffee with sugar and we'll need a few minutes or so before we decide if we're going to order anything else." Trey looked at Shane while she ordered and then watched as the waitress wandered off to get their drinks. After the waitress was gone Trey gave Shane a grin as he picked up the menu and started to look it over. "I don't know about you but I'm starving. If you're hungry order whatever you like. I'm buying." Trey's eyes lingered on her for a moment before he looked back down at the menu. After a minute he already had decided what he wanted. Folding the menu back up he put it off to the side of the table. Ready to order he waited on Shane to decide what she wanted.

Shane wasn't quiet sure what she was doing with this good looking man. It wasn't really her normal thing to pick up some stranger and go out for coffee but he'd intrigued her in ways that no one eles had in ages. His eyes held a tortured soul and she found she could relate to that sort of thing. She knew a bit about horror, pain and torment.
As he allowed her to pass him, the beautiful blond cast him a smile and noted his sense of gentlemanly behavior. That alone added him another point to his favor although he certainly didn't know that. She was accustomed to taking care of herself but that didn't mean a girl didn't like to be treated like something special once in awhile.
"Thank you, Mr. Coulter." she said before following his directions and heading to a back booth.
Once they were both seated, Shane nodded at the waitress and listened to Trey place an order for coffe. When the woman's eyes landed upon her, she smiled and ordered the same. As she walked away, the blond turned back to her companion and then raised a brow.
"I don't know about you but I'm starving. If you're hungry order whatever you like. I'm buying."
Letting a little laugh escape her, the dancer crossed her long legs and smirked.
"What is it with you guys... I swear, I haven't meet a man yet who hasn't been starving or had food on the brain!" she returned in a teasing manner. "but actually... yeah.. I am a bit hungry.... "
Opening her own menu, she gaze at the selection and saw that they had onion rings. Grinning, she decided on them and a piece of apple pie for later. Yeah, she would rue the calories but she could always work them off later. A girl needed to splurge once in awhile.
"I think I'll get some onion rings and a piece of apple pie... That should do me...."
Flipping the list closed, she set it aside and watched as the waitress approached again. When the woman sat two cups of coffee before them and then a caraffe full of the steaming brew, she nodded their thanks and gave her her order.
As she waited for her companion to do the same, Shane took a moment to look him over again. He definitely was sexy as hell. Sibeal had told her a few stories about the young man in the past and Shane had always wondered what he was truly like. Evidently, her friend hadn't done him justice though. He was truly a fine piece of eye candy.

TreyTrey chuckled when Shane mentioned men and food. It did seem to be true. Especially for guys like Trey who were pretty active. Hunting supernatural creatures can take a lot out of a guy. He just gave her a grin.
The waitress came over and gave them their coffee. Shane went ahead and placed her order then the waitress turned to Trey. He quickly placed his order asking for; steak and eggs (scrambled), hash browns and pancakes.
As the waitress walked away after taking their order Trey picked up his cup of coffee and took a sip. Looking across the table at Shane again. "So... How did you end up dancing in a place like The Wolf's Den?" Trey set back in his seat to listen to her answer. Small talk had it's purpose. He definitely was interested in learning more about her. Though he already knew there was more to her than what met the eye.

At his question, the pretty dancer gave a shrug and looked down into her coffee to cover the discomfort it brought.
"Oh.. you know.. the usual. Most women dont dance because its their life long goal. Usually, its kids or college bills that need taken care of that normal jobs dont allow for. Its hard to make ends meet these days.. and even harder when you have a family to support. While I don't have a family.... I do have some other things that I need money for and dancing is the easiest, legal way of getting it."
Taking a long drink of her coffee, Shane turned her keen eyes back on Trey.
"How about you? What is it that you do for a living? Besides picking up women and causing Sibeal to try to kill you, that is?? I've heard stories about you and your twin but it was quite a shock to see you stroll into the club for my friend. Last she heard, you were dead."

TreyTrey sipped at his coffee his gaze still lingering across the table at Shane. Nodding his head and paying attention to what she had to say. He noticed a little flash of something in her eyes when she mention people having families to support. Something told him there was more to that then she was letting on. Maybe it was just because she didn't have any family around and it was something she missed. It didn't seem like the time to press that issue though. He just wanted her to feel comfortable in talking to him. "Yeah, I know what you mean. You gotta do what you gotta do to make a living these days I guess." Still watching her he grabbed some sugar packets and dumped them into his coffee. Picking his spoon up off the table he idly stirred the hot liquid until the granules dissolved. He took another drink from the cup and almost choked on it from laughing when he heard Shane's next question. "Is that what Sibeal told you? Remind me I'll have to get her back for that. I mean as far as the picking up women. I mean... I'm not so bad. As far as making a living, depends on how long I'm in town sometimes. I'm a pretty good mechanic and I can hold my own tending bar. So if I'm staying somewhere long enough I usually find something along those lines." Shaking his head, a little nervous smile appeared on his lips now. The rest of her comment was a little more difficult. He clenched his teeth together for a minute while he thought about how to answer. He finally figured being as honest as possible would be best. He looked down at the dark liquid in his coffee cup as he began to speak. "I never was actually dead... Obviously I guess. I was in a car accident. I escaped the car before it fell down into a ravine and blew up. But I had a pretty bad head injury and passed out on the side of the road. When I woke up, no one had discovered the accident yet and I couldn't remember what happened. I couldn't remember anything. Complete amnesia. I ended up hitching a ride to some small town and managed to find my way to a hospital before I passed out again. I woke up in the hospital having no clue what had happened. I didn't even know my name. That was a little over three years ago now." Still staring into his coffee he swirled the cup around. Watching the liquid slosh around. Lifting it up he took another drink and peered over the rim of the cup at Shane. Wanting to gage her reaction.

Shane was all to aware of her companions gaze as she too took up some sugar and poured it into the black brew before her. The little cream cups were soon added and then she sighed in satisfaction as she took a sip of the sweet drink. When she opened her eyes, she looked directly at him and raised a brow. A glimmer of a smirk played around the corners of her lips.
"Sibeal didn't say that... exactly. She is more discreet than that!" she teased back before he continued.
That was a little over three years ago now."
As he told her a condensed version of his own story, the pretty blond found herself frowning and watching his expression. It was obvious that the last few years hadn't been easy on him either and she found that it attracted her to him even more. It was almost as if they were kindred spirits of a sort. Once he fell silent, she reached across the table and laid her hand on his for a moment as she said.
"That had to have been hell on earth...Couldn't have been easy seeing your family again either. I imagine that, if your anything like Sibeal is, it was down right ugly. We all believe in the supernatural around here.. Anyone raised in New Orleans does.... You showing up again must have thrown them for a real loop.... If their reaction was anything like Sib's........ It must have been a real ass kicker."
Suddenly self concious, Shane started to pull her hand away and blushed just a bit. Biting her bottom lip, she continued.
"Whenever bad shit happens, I just try to believe that it happens for a reason. Either to make us stronger or to make us better people. If not.. There doesn't seem to be much reason to get through the day....."

TreyTrey smiled at her as she responded to his story. He didn't take much stock in feeling sorry for himself about what had happened. Not that it hadn't or really still was affecting him but to wallow in pity about it wasn't his style. It was nice though to have someone to talk to about it. Someone that wasn't family or a close friend who's life was turned upside down when he was declared dead.
Someone more impartial, who could see that it had been hard on him. It had changed him no doubt about that. While she talked she had moved her hand over and placed it on top of his. He sighed softly listening to her. His eyes shifted down to their hands. When she paused he felt her begin to pull her hand away and he grasped it to stop her from moving. He locked eyes with her and held her hand as she went on. "Whenever bad shit happens, I just try to believe that it happens for a reason. Either to make us stronger or to make us better people. If not.. There doesn't seem to be much reason to get through the day....." Trey grinned back at her. She sure seemed to have hit that one on the head. All you could do was pull yourself up and keep moving forward. At least that's what he tried to do. Wasn't always so easy though. He hadn't handled it that well with Jess he realized now. Taking off on her like that.
Trey shook his head and caught himself letting his thoughts wander and reigned himself back in. He was still holding onto Shane's hand and he looked over at her again. "Yeah, pretty much what doesn't kill you makes you stronger... Isn't that what they say? Me and Jess grew up as hunters. That's all we knew... Our family was close. When I came back it was all different. Shattered into a million pieces. Still working on pulling things back together." Letting his thumb rub along the back of her hand he stared down at the table. Trying to sort things out in his mind. He hadn't intended to say so much. It kind of just started to tumble out while he was talking to her. A little voice in his head was saying, "I hope she doesn't think I'm crazy." Maybe he was a little, he just hoped it wouldn't completely run her off. The attraction was magnetic. The fact that he actually liked her and enjoyed her company was an added bonus.

As Trey caught her hand, Shane drew to a halt. There was something about his touch that caused flames to flicker over her skin and it was as close to an intimate touch as she had allowed in the years proceeding her son's birth. Any personal relationships were dangerous and she'd shied away from them with the speed of a bullet. This man, however, made her wish things were different. That she was different. That the path her life had taken had been different.
"Yeah, pretty much what doesn't kill you makes you stronger... Isn't that what they say? Me and Jess grew up as hunters. That's all we knew... Our family was close. When I came back it was all different. Shattered into a million pieces. Still working on pulling things back together."
Nodding, the young woman allowed her fingers to lace into his and smiled a bit ruefully. Suddenly, the urge to unburden herself turned within her and she was talking before she could think about the concequences.
"I know a bit about what your talking about.... I was in love once.. It was kind of a whirlwind affair right before he went over seas to war. We had a brief, passionate fling although both of us knew that the chances were slim of making anything of it........ When he left... Well, I felt as if a part of me was missing for a long time..... Over time, we lost touch and it got easier but I recently learned of his death and it brought it back pretty hard. Its funny.... for years I checked into the names of casualties and after a time... I didn't expect to hear of his name among them. Guess fate is a wicked bitch."
Falling silent for a long moment, Shane tried to gather her thoughts.
"Its not quite the same but... I can understand trying to put pieces back together.... I do it everyday...."

TreyTrey looked up and saw that the expression on her face had changed. She had a look of sadness clouding her face now. Not the tough sassy look of the woman he had first met just hours ago. Taking in a deep breath, suddenly pangs of guilt struck him. He most certainly hadn't meant to make her feel sad or sorry for him. Before he could say anything, apologize for upsetting her, she had linked her fingers with his and started talking again. Guess fate is a wicked bitch." As he listened to her, it brought back memories of his own loss. The thing that had triggered everything after it. The accident, the losing three years of his life, and all the rest that had crumbled because of it.
When his finance was killed by a demon he had gone into a rage. Fueled by anger he had called his twin sister Jess. The phone call was frantic and didn't make any sense. Then he couldn't stand it anymore and just took off, that was when the accident had happened. He hadn't told Shane that part. In fact, he had never told that part of the story to anyone ever. Not even Jess. Jess only knew because when she showed up at the house that night it was obvious. He didn't need to tell her. He was also sure Jess had told their father, so he was pretty sure he knew as well what had happened. But, there was no one else that knew and he had never had to speak about it. He still wasn't ready to do that yet.
Trey continued to look at Shane as she spoke. Hearing the sadness in her voice as she went on. His heart hurting for her. Knowing the loss she felt even though he couldn't really tell her that. "Yeah, fate is one hell of a bitch." He agreed with her, giving her hand a little squeeze as she went quiet. Both of them sitting there lost in their own thoughts. After a few moments Shane looked up at him again. "Its not quite the same but... I can understand trying to put pieces back together.... I do it everyday...." Trey gave her a little weary smile. Nodding his head he ran his free hand through his short cropped hair. Then he spoke quietly. "I think it's probably more the same then either of us knows. What a pair we are tonight huh?" Still looking into her eyes, he just wanted to be able to comfort her but wasn't sure how. Their hands were still clasped together when Trey noticed the waitress approaching their table with their food. Reluctantly he let go of her hand and sat back in the seat. He just sat there quietly, looking across at Shane while the waitress set their food down and then left to go about her business.

Shane smiled a bit at Trey's comment and then sat back as he released her hand. The waitress approached and placed their food in front of them and the dancer made a bit production of picking up an onion ring and savoring it. Her eyes closed for a moment in delight for the taste and then they flew open to glint at him with mischievous intent.
"Dang..... These things are almost good enough to replaced sex.... Although its been so long for the other, I'm not sure I even remember it good enough to compare. This and chocolate..... "
Letting her voice trail off a bit, the blond continued to munch on the appetizer with glee. This time of the night was one of her favorites. It was her unwind time and more often than not, a few of the girls and even Derek would get together to have breakfast and coffee before heading home. It was kind of an unwind and relax time for all the workers of the Wolfs Den. When Shane thought of all the junk food they inhalled, she figured it was probably a good thing they all burned off so many calories in their line of work.
"So..... all seriousness aside....What really brought you to New Orleans?"

TreyTrey ignored his food for a moment as he watched Shane eating an onion ring. She made eating it look down right sexual. He chewed on his lip as he watched her. Then he snapped himself out of his trance and blinked a couple times when she compared the food to sex. "Dang..... These things are almost good enough to replaced sex.... Although its been so long for the other, I'm not sure I even remember it good enough to compare. This and chocolate..... " Grinning a bit wickedly back at her. He took in what she had just said and cocked his head to the side. Thinking about what to say he unconsciously slide his tongue along the front of his teeth. Ever since he'd lost his finance he hadn't been much for committed relationships. Though he wasn't a monk by any means he wasn't a complete womanizer either he just avoided attachments. He raised his eyebrows at her. "Come on, it couldn't have been that long. Besides, it's like riding a bike, you don't really forget. As far as being better than sex? I think the guys you've hooked up with were doing it wrong." Trey gave her a wink and a smile. Licking his lips quickly he broke eye contacted and looked down at his food. Picking up his fork he started to eat. Chuckling to himself a little as he wondered what she was thinking and what this was leading to.

At his comeback remark, Shane smirked and took a bite out of an onion ring. Her eyes glittered with impish amusement as she savored the taste and then took a drink of her coffee again. Her lip wrinkled a bit as she stared down into the brew and then glanced around for the waitress. Catching the womans eye, she motioned for a soda and saw her nod of acceptance. As the woman filled a glass and then brought it over, the dancer eyed her companion once more and smirked.
"For your information, its been almost 6 years. Contrary to the popular belief among men, we woman CAN and DO live without the opposite sex. More often than not, the guy is just in it to get off anyways so why expend the effort? A girl can find a battery operated buddy if she wants 8 seconds of fun. " she said with a blantant challenge to her voice. "What makes you think you'd be any better? What makes you think you'll be worth the effort of getting undress for?"
As the waitress came forward and sat her drink down, Shane arched a brow and gave Trey a look that practically dared him to have a good come back. She wasn't sure why she was baiting him but something about him made her want to see what he was truly like underneath all that charming exterior. She hadn't been this interested in a guy since before her son's birth. At that thought, Shane suddenly drew up and her expression changed from flirtatious to serious.
"In all honesty, I'm not one for one night stands. I've never really been temped before. Alot of the guys that come into the club think the dancers are easy but its usually the exact opposite. Most of us have better respect for ourselves than the average girl. Sure.. You have a few that end up in a different guys bed every night but mostly... We all look out for one another and if a patron gets out of hand, Derek puts the fear of god into them."
Shrugging a bit, she leaned forward and took a drink of her soda. Her expression was still serious when she looked up and meet his eyes again.
"And then... every once in a blue moon... a man comes along that makes us toss all those ideals aside and go for broke. Seems like this might just be the night I break all the rules....."

TreyTrey continued to eat as he listened to Shane talk. His eyes widening a bit at a couple things she said. He had cleared about half his plate when he finally put his fork down. Swallowing a bit thickly, which was brought on more by something she said rather than the food in his mouth. He took a drink of his coffee and then a long drink from the glass of water. Clearing his throat a little bit he responded. "Six years? Really." Speaking quietly as he looked at her. He had been taken a little off guard by that. Not that it was a bad thing, just that it made him wonder. Not that he thought for sure that anything was going to happen with them but it seemed to be heading that way. Why him after six years?
The playful and joking tone was gone from the conversation now. He did have to try and fight not to smile though. Keeping it to a small smirk instead of a stupid goofy grin that wanted to pop up on his face. He could practically feel his eyes twinkling and couldn't help thinking that he really actually liked this woman. Her honesty was a refreshing change from the cat and mouse games that most girls played. "What makes me think I'd be different? Maybe because I think you are a very interesting woman, smart, beautiful, and I can't deny sexy as hell."
"I didn't come here with you to end up in bed with you, but I sure as shit wouldn't say no to it either. I can tell you for sure it would be a lot more than eight seconds and worth your while."
"Remember those curves we were talking about at the club? Well, I wouldn't mind being able to explore them at my leisure. Following every inch of them wherever they took me. Anyone that would do a rush job on that would have to be a damn fool." Trey sipped on his coffee as Shane spoke again. He'd lost interest in the rest of his food. His full attention focused on the woman across from him. Listening to her talk had him entranced. When she paused again he nodded before saying anything. "First off, I never thought you would be easy. I know Sibeal, I know she's not like that so that thought never crossed my mind, just because you're a dancer. I'm not here for a one night stand. You're a much more complicated woman than that."
"Honestly? The way you have me feeling and thinking right now, I'm not sure what's in store for us. But I wouldn't mind giving it a chance and finding out." Trey took a deep breath and sighed. Putting his elbow on the table he rested his head in his hand and rubbed his fingers on his scalp while he thought. Part of him was telling him to run, don't get involved. He didn't know if he could handle this or not. The other part of him was thinking he couldn't not see this through. He wanted to feel something again. Something good, something that made him feel alive and she was certainly stirring up those feelings in him. That was the part that was winning at the moment.

"Remember those curves we were talking about at the club? Well, I wouldn't mind being able to explore them at my leisure. Following every inch of them wherever they took me. Anyone that would do a rush job on that would have to be a damn fool."
At those words, Shane felt as if the whole world had stopped existing. She found it hard to draw in a breath even as she gazed at him over the top of her soda. The heat was there.. banked in her eyes as she meet his.
But I wouldn't mind giving it a chance and finding out."
For the first time in years, Shane felt as if she were suddenly out of control. Nothing seemed rational anymore and she knew exactly where this night was going to end up. His blunt honesty made her decision easier as she sat down her drink and settled back into the booth. Glancing at his food, she arched a brow and then gave him a slow seductive grin.
"Well then.... Looks like you had better get eating..... You might just need the energy that food will provide......"
The husky tone to her voice left no doubts to her meaning as she picked up an onion ring and nibbled at it. She suddenly wasn't hungry at all but appearances were everything. Flashes of cloths flying everywhere and distinctive visions of flesh against flesh made her fidget a bit in her seat as she impatiently waited for him to finish his "breakfast".

TreyTrey kept his eyes on her face and couldn't help but let the smile crease his lips. He saw something change in her eyes and he chewed on his lip. Trey was working on keeping his breathing steady and could feel his heartbeat quicken. All he could do was look at her and wonder what he was thinking. Well, besides the obvious. The sexual attraction was definitely beginning to smolder but was there something else? His head was trying to think but his bodies reactions were starting to interfere. "Well then.... Looks like you had better get eating..... You might just need the energy that food will provide......" Trey's tongue flicked across his lips as he sucked in a quick breath. He pushed his plate away then took a long drink of his now luke warm coffee. Setting the empty coffee cup off to the side next to the plate. "I'm finished here. Don't worry, I have plenty of energy. We can get out of here when ever you're ready." Looking around the diner he spotted the waitress and waved her over. He gave her a smile and asked for the check. Waiting a bit impatiently as she looked through her pad for it and totaled it up before ripping out from the rest and setting it down on the table.
Trey snatched up the check and pulled out his wallet. Flipping through the bills he found what he needed. Enough to cover the tab and a fairly generous tip. He set it all back down on the table and then stood up. Holding out his hand for her he waited. "You ready?" Smirking as he said that. He gave her a wink. Leaving the question that could have multiple meanings hanging in the air.
