Personal Style: Zoey’s style is something completely all her own. Unique is what people might think from the first moment they stare at her. Worn, comfortable jeans and a band shirt with her converses on her feet. Of course that’s not what brings the money in when she’s at work. So at work she wears jeans or a skirt paired with boots and a tight top. She hates being like that, but she has to pay the bills and eat at some point. Dresses are also one of her loves, the flowy summery ones that can be paired with boots or flats and a pair of tights. Bracelets always adorn her wrists to hide her scars and she never takes off a gold cross necklace that was her mother’s.
Unique Features: Zoey has some common scars from her childhood, particularly a nasty one on her kneecap. There are also some deep scars across her wrists, a stupid move a few years ago when she tried to kill herself when she was high. Has her ears and cartilage are pierced. A tattoo of phoenix wings on her shoulder blades, and a tattoo of a small swallow on her right hipbone.
Best Feature: Her eyes.
Worst Feature: Being so naïve on some things.

Other: Can mix any drink you can possibly think of after all her years as a bartender. Zoey has this way with people that can help defuse the tension and keep fights from happening. Helps many times when bar brawls start at her job. She also has a wide knowledge of Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and some Marvel characters. This girl just happens to be a nerd at heart.
Personality: There’s a lot that can be said about Zoey Lawrence, it all depends on which layer of her you’re looking at. From a young age she’s always put up walls to keep herself from getting hurt by the people around her and those walls are different things. Most of the time she tries to be friendly, a people person, it helps with her customers and it makes her more relatable. She can be flirtatious at times but at the same time she’s very cautious and reserved about who she lets gets close to her. There can be an edge to her as well, a hardness she puts up when she gets uncomfortable in a situation. This is not a girl you want to mess with, she can tell you off and still throw a punch better than a boxer. The side that she likes to show people she can trusts is her nerdy, fun side. Zoey knows a lot of movie trivia and quotes them at a whim. This girl is pretty carefree and laid back while also knowing that a life isn’t worth living unless you’re having fun. There is a maternal side to her, always wanting to help those that need it and she might be what you call a mother hen type figured. All in all Zoey’s just a very unique individual.

Brief History: There’s not much to say about Zoey Grace Lawrence’s childhood. It was a hard life. Her parents were always fighting and she had to care for herself it seems. Most people wouldn’t think that they ever really wanted the girl but Zoey liked not having them around. With that she was able to grow as her own human being but it also go her into a lot of problems. When she was thirteen her mother skipped out on her and her father who was handicapped from a construction accident. Leaving him a single parent to a teenager and someone who relied on his child to survive. It was now set on her to take care of him, her mother not able to handle it. She would always be sweet and do whatever he asked her to do. Once Zoey hit her teenage years was when she really started to act out. Drugs were her escape from having to put up with her father’s craziness and the fact the teachers were always yelling at her. Pills and smoking were her escape, her one thing she knew she could count on. Since her mom skipped her dad was worse off, not able to do anything by himself, leaving her to her addiction and her own troubles. That was the worse thing for the young girl. Soon she found out her mother found a new man, a rich one who she was going to marry and that she had a new family. This drove Zoey to the very edge of her emotions, making her more reckless. At the age of eighteen, while stoned off her ass on whatever prescription drugs she could get ahold of she grabbed a kitchen knife and cut her wrists, wanting to just make all the craziness go away. Luckily one of her friends was there and he rushed her to the hospital, getting her the help that she needed.
A few months later she was finally released from a rehab center that her mother and her rich husband sent her to. Her father was very ill, living in a center that could take better care of him then she ever could. At the very second that she stepped out of it she ran, not wanting to deal with living with her mother’s new rich family. Her dad was gone and her mother had this perfect life. It all made her sick so she decided to face the world on her own. Using what little saving she had left after her trip to the hospital and rehab she used it to get herself a small shabby apartment and eventually got herself a job as a waitress. For years she worked 12 hours a day at the same diner making lousy pay and lousy tips with grabby customers and obnoxious coworkers. But she grit her teeth and bared it, wanting to continue on with her life. Eventually she wanted to go to college, to get a degree that would help her better herself. When she was twenty she got a second job at a bar her friend worked at, loving the atmosphere that it had with it. She was good at her job there and she was making plenty of tips and money to help her survive. Never has she left it, loving the job and the people she encounters. Between her two jobs she hardly has time for relationships, a few boyfriends here and there but nothing ever sticks. No one understands her sense of humor, the inner nerd that can quote Star Wars and Lord of the Rings or the fact that her ideal night is just sitting at home infront of a fire and just reading rather than going out and partying. Now she just works at the bar and sees what the new wave of faces brings, but for some reason she has a feeling that her life’s about to get very interesting…
Role Play Sample:
It seemed like just another normal night at the bar. How many nights started out just like these for Zoey Lawrence? Far too many to count. Living the life of a bartender she got to meet interesting people, hear heartbreaking stories, help people through their problems and make enough that helps her survive in life. Things were pretty boring alright. Every night she’d get ready and head to her little bar in the middle of nowhere and serve her regulars until she finally had to start kicking them out. Oddly enough she felt very at home in her bar, she knew the customers and knew most of their stories. Zoey felt comfortable there, in control and not unnerved. She got to use her expertise in drink making to help the random people that came in. Who wouldn’t like being paid for that?
So here she was getting the drinks for whatever customer that walked up, no matter what the drink was. Zoey smiled lightly at the guy sitting at the bar who ordered a banana daiquiri, her blue eyes finding his at just the right moment as she filled the other orders. There was something about him that was refreshing. She’d noticed him in there a few times, always nervous but in a cute sort of way. God, why weren’t their more guys like him around? You’d think with how she looked and acted she would go for the muscle heads or men in leather but she preferred the more carefree and “nerdy” type. They were the good guys, the ones that didn’t want to just use her then throw her to the curb. There were too many bad things that she’s had to deal with that made her realize she didn’t need a guy to be happy. They were just fun to look at and she had her eye on this cute fella with the daiquiri for quite some time.
It was busy but not too busy, the normal for this bar with a group of bikers that were in there almost every night. They were in there to normally shoot some pool, maybe some darts, and drink until they couldn’t see straight. Zoey was used to it all, the catcalls, the crude comments from the guys who came in and thought they could mess with her but the bikers, they were almost like friends. Never once did they treat her with disrespect, the rest of the patrons in the bar on the other hand…not so much. So why would tonight be any different? She knew it was going to turn bad when the bikers turned on her guy with the daiquiri. Zoey was busy helping the rest of her customers on the other ends of the bar but when she saw the nerdy guy downing the normal hard liquor shots that she got the biker gang she couldn’t help but make a face. Not even she could handle that crap and seemed this poor guy couldn’t either.
Quickly she grabbed a bottle of water as she put it down in front of her daiquiri guy, her bright blue eyes glaring at the bikers. ”Now Mike your liquor isn’t for everyone, hell I can hardly even drink it. So why don’t you leave him alone to his drink and you go back over there and shoot some pool,” Zoey leaned against the bar as she continued to glare at Mike and his friends. ”I’m sure Betty wouldn’t like me to have to call the cops on you again…you know how pissed she got when she had to bail you out of jail the last time…” Slowly she turned and winked at the guy, hoping he’d recovered from the battery acid in alcohol form. Seemed that did the trick as the gang backed up to their normal area and left the guy alone. ”Shit that’s going to hit you hard…are you okay?” she muttered quietly with a small smile as she tried to comfort him. With a toss of her hair to the side she reached over and touched his hand ever so lightly, ”They look mean but that one,” she pointed at Mike, ”BIG teddy bear…with leather…and tattoos…” Smirking she tried to look into the guy’s eyes, make sure he was still breathing. If there was one thing Zoey knew it was that liquor wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and this guy seemed like he was having a fit which proved he didn’t drink the hard stuff all too much. A frown of worry was etched to her face, a small furrow in her brow as she watched him like a hawk. Screw the rest of her customers.
