The afternoon heat of the day caused Lexi to feel restless and uncomfortable. After a dip in the pool, the young mother to be headed towards the kitchen and wondered if anyone would be there to meet her. As she pushed open the door, her eyes fell on two plates of fresh baked cookies of several varities. There were peanut butter, Snickerdoodle, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisan.
Grinning in delight, Lexi wandered further into the room only to see that there were others already gathering. Arching a brow, she eyed them ruefully and then said.
"Ok... there had better be a peanut butter cookie left for me or SOMEONE is going ot be in trouble!"

Ben had a goofy-happy grin as he stood there eyeing the cookies in front of him. He wasn't sure where to begin, all of them practically calling his name.
Hmmm.... Chocolate chip? A classic... So awesome... But those snickerdoodles look good too.... Oh man.... All of them look SO good......
Looking around at everyone else, he decided he better decide what he wanted the most, and quick. Looking at the differrent cookies in front of him, he raised a brow, not realizing that Lexi had walked in.
"Ok... there had better be a peanut butter cookie left for me or SOMEONE is going ot be in trouble!"
Looking up, he grinned brightly. She had just helped him choose what he wanted.
"Thanks!"
Laughing lightly, he turned back and grabbed one of the peanut butter cookies, stuffing the whole thing in his mouth, then, satisfied, he reached for another cookie, this time a chocolate chip, even though his mouth was full from the other one.

Eyeing the young boy with an arched brow, Lexi padded forward and scooped up the last peanut butter one left. A soft laugh escaped her as she took in his messy face and the fact that he was trying to be so innocent.
"Ben..... You are REALLY going to get yourself into trouble if you don't watch it, little man. Haven't you heard? Its not nice to get between a pregnant lady and the food she is craving? Besides that, I KNOW you have more manners than to stuff you mouth so full you cant even breath!"
Sticking the edge of her own cookie to her lips, she shook her head and then took a small nibble. Betsy knew that her husband, ward and visitors all were cookie monsters and shed taken to leaving some on the counter every afternoon.
"Betsy sees the mess you are making of her kitchen or hears that you aren't sharing... She may not make anymore!"

Mel had been babbling on the phone for about one hour about the cute things Lydia Rose would do, and how anxious she was to know her niece that she made Max promise bout five times that he would call her as soon as humanly possible when the baby was born. Plus the next half hour was about how she would drag Nick away from work do that he could get them to New Orleans to meet the new Blair and kill poor Nicholas if he didn’t comply. And off course there was about twenty more minutes about the cute stuff she had bought for his baby, to which Max had only replied with a dozen of ‘uh-hu’.
Now that she had finally hanged up, he gave a fond smile. He couldn’t really blame her for being so excited with the arrival of the new Blair. She had countless of times strived to help him find his soul-mate, even that he had done so on his own, and now that he was married and about to have a baby she was beside herself.
When he entered the kitchen and saw Ben stuffing a couple of cookies into his mouth, he gave a light laugh. Poor Nick was probably being driven insane with the incessant comments from Mel that they had to go know the boy Max and Lexi adopted.
“Be careful Ben, remember that we have a couple of preggo ladies in the house? You wouldn’t want to be stuck between both of them and a cookie, would you?” he asked playfully before ruffling Ben’s hair and then moving to give a kiss to his gorgeous wife.
As he moved towards the cookies, he glanced at the plate and frowned slightly. “What, no peanut butter cookies?”

As the the chocolate chip cookie was stuffed into his mouth, Ben grinned brightly, mouth full, then he turned and looked at Lexi, who had came over and snatched the last peanut butter cookie before he had the chance.
The mischievous twinkle in his eye faded as he looked up at her, his mouth full of the two cookies, and smiled, trying to look as innocent as possible.
"Ben..... You are REALLY going to get yourself into trouble if you don't watch it, little man. Haven't you heard? Its not nice to get between a pregnant lady and the food she is craving? Besides that, I KNOW you have more manners than to stuff you mouth so full you cant even breath!"
Ben started to say something, but instead he just gave her that smart-ass look he did when he was trying to mess with her, and reached forward, grabbing another cookie and shoving it into his mouth.
"Betsy sees the mess you are making of her kitchen or hears that you aren't sharing... She may not make anymore!"
Ben raised a brow at that. He loved homemade cookies, and he wasn't sure he could go without them.
Better safe than sorry. Eat as much as I can now!
Smirking at his thoughts, Ben reached forward and grabbed another cookie, trying to eat it along with the others he had already shoved in his mouth. Seeing the look in Lexi's eye, though, and figuring she may end up killing him, he swallowed what was already in his mouth before shoving the next cookie in.
“Be careful Ben, remember that we have a couple of preggo ladies in the house? You wouldn’t want to be stuck between both of them and a cookie, would you?”
Swallowing the cookie as he heard Max speak, Ben turned and grinned brightly at the man walking towards them, smirking as he ruffled his hair.
"You're definetly right... I want to live...
Laughing, he grinned jokingly at Lexi, then turned back to Max as he looked at the cookies, focusing on the empty plate where the peanut butter cookies had been.
“What, no peanut butter cookies?”
Thinking quickly, Ben's hand quickly shot out to point at Lexi, a totally nervous, yet attempted innocent, look once again on his face.
"She did it! She ate it!"
Ben was usually pretty good at playing innocent. His cute grin very often kept him out of trouble, but, lying to Max always made him feel nervous for some reason. He hadn't really ever had much practice lying to guys, so he was still learning on that one. It wasn't the same as fooling his mom had been, or fooling Lexi was now, though he could tell she was starting to get wise to his tricks.

Shaking her head at her two favorite "boys" Lexi eased into a chair and rubbed the small of her back. These days, it seemed as if the baby was hyperactive and the small of her back constantly hurt from the acrobates he seemed to enjoy. Intuition told her that they were going to have their hands full with the little guy by the time he started walking and that thought made her smile a bit absentmindedly.
"I did not, Ben... I believe you were here before I was!!" she said with a slight laugh before beckoning her husband closer so she could lean against him for a back support."Besides that... these days, I can't fit much into my stomach... Junior here is taking up way to much room!"
Picking up a cookie, she nibbled on it delicately as took a much needed break.
"So... besides eating cookies... What are you two up to this afternoon??"

Giving a smirk at Ben’s too innocent grin, Max was able to pick up the underlying nervousness in the boy. He knew the kid enough to know he was trying to pin the blame on Lexi.
He was aware that the little guy had been devouring info about the supernatural like he had been devouring those cookies. It was good that he had information what was there to know, it could save his life, but he worried the hunting could rule one’s life and that he knew far too well. If it hadn’t been for his wife, he would probably become one obsessed hunter.
A smile grew on him as she leaned against him and he pressed a kiss to her forehead. Placing one hand over her belly, he could feel the agitation inside.
“I was thinking about to ask you guys what you felt like doing today. The Jordans aren’t up yet it seems, but I was thinking it might be fun to see what trouble we can get into today, and Ben…be nice to Curse today, would you?" he said before giving a playful wink to the boy. He couldn't condemn the pranks the little guy pinned on Curse, they were way too fun to watch.

"I did not, Ben... I believe you were here before I was!! Besides that... these days, I can't fit much into my stomach... Junior here is taking up way to much room!"
Looking at Lexi's belly, Ben couldn't help but smile. The idea of another kid in the house, especially another boy, was sounding more and more awesome every day. Ben already had how he and the little boy were gonna be. Ben was gonna teach him everything he knew, and watch out for him and protect him at ALL times. He was gonna make sure this kid was as awesome a dude as possible, and that he was never hurt in any way.
"So... besides eating cookies... What are you two up to this afternoon??"[/color]
Coming out of his thoughts at Lexi's question, Ben raised a brow in thought, then, unsure really what he was gonna do that day, looked back at Max with a questioning look. He noticed that Max was looking at him, and seemed to be thinking about something.
Uh oh... Something's up...
When the look faded and Max smiled, Ben sighed, relieved. He watched them kiss and watched Max rub her tummy, and was tempted to roll his eyes. He loved them both, but sometimes watching them was like watching one of those lame chick flicks on Lifetime.
“I was thinking about to ask you guys what you felt like doing today. The Jordans aren’t up yet it seems, but I was thinking it might be fun to see what trouble we can get into today, and Ben…be nice to Curse today, would you?"
Ben grinned brightly at the mention of trouble. If there was one thing Ben was good at, it was causing trouble. The kid was an expert at playing pranks, breaking every rule given to him(and usually getting away with it), and of course, flirting with every attractive female he met. Then, with the mention of Curse, and a playful wink from Max, Ben's grin got even bigger, and if possible, the evil twinkle in his eye shined even brighter.
Ever since he had met the man, he had taken a LOT of pleasure it torturing him with every evil prank he could come up with. The only one he hadn't been able to get away with yet was putting Nair in his shampoo, something he was DIEING to do, but that he was scared to do because he didn't know how much trouble he would get in if Jo got naired too.
"I won't hurt him..... too bad..."
Ben made sure to add that last part quietly under his breath, a big grin settling as he thought about it.
Sitting there for a minute, a million evil little ideas running through the young boys mind, he finally just smiled, deciding to have some other fun while Curse was asleep.
" You know... we could all go to the park today... Or...." Thinking about it, a grin lit up his face. "WE COULD ALL PLAY IN THE POOL!!!"

As the boys talked around her, Lexi smiled and nodded. When Ben suggested the pool though, she beamed.
"OH yes... I think that sounds like a lovely idea.... It won't be long before I'll have to give it up and its so hot and muggy...." she said as she glanced between the two males. "Maybe we can grill outside and have a pool party. I"m sure Jo will love the cool water too."
Getting to her feet, she padded over to the fridge and peeked in. Seeing everything she thought they would need, she turned back to the others.
"I actually gave Betsy the day off........ Are you boys up for doing our own cooking? You'll have to help with the clean up!"
