Dressed in black athletic pants and a crisp Dallas Cowboys tshirt, Curse Jordan sat on the back deck of his house pulling on his tennis shoes. A football sat beside him as he eagerly anticipated the arrival of the other people they had invited out for a friendly game and BBQ. Although he didn't know the others well, it had seemed like an excellent way to make some new friends and just relax a bit. The good lord knew they all needed to let out some steam in a way that didn't involve any of them landing in Jail like the last time. The weather was perfect outside and he and Jo had already set up tables for food and drinks when it was time. Ellen had taken over baby duty along with one of the waitresses from the bar so the couple could relax and not worry about their little ones while they had a bit of fun. Max and Lexi were bringing their two boys over also. The witch couldn't seem to be parted from her Bastian for very long so Ellen had said that one more wouldn't be an issue. Getting to his feet, Curse meandered over to the huge stereo system pluged into the barn outlet and flipped it on. As a popular country song blared out, he smiled and tossed the ball in the air while he waited for others to arrive. Singing along to Tim McGraw, he was completely relaxed for the first time in weeks. "Just who I am I may be a real bad boy But baby I'm a real good man
I may drink too much and play too loud Hang out with a rough and rowdy crowd That don't mean I don't respect My Mama or my Uncle Sam Yes sir, yes ma'am I may be a real bad boy But baby I'm a real good man
I might have a reckless streak At least a country-mile wide If you're gonna run with me It's gonna be a wild ride When it comes to loving you I've got velvet hands I'll show you how a real bad boy Can be a real good man
I take all the good times I can get I'm too young for growing up just yet Ain't much I can promise you 'Cept to do the best I can I'll be damned I may be a real bad boy But baby I'm a real good man
I may be a real bad boy Oh but baby I'm a real good man Yes I am" As the sound of someone approaching, he turned with a grin on his face and the ball caught in one hand.

JoJo was in the kitchen at the moment, making a last minute check of things. They had plenty of snacks, chips and dips, and whatever else you could want for a football party. Plus it was a potluck with everyone bringing some kind of food dish for dinner. No one would go hungry today that was for sure.
Heading out of the kitchen Jo walked through the dining room to the huge sliding glass doors that led out to the large deck patio. Pulling the door back she went outside just in time to see her husband walking back toward the barn. Standing there for a moment, Jo surveyed the area. Tables were set up, there were ice chests full of beer and sodas. Same was true down by the barn so people could pick up a drink or snack in either area. They also had a fully stocked bar in the house if anyone wanted something a bit stronger to drink.
Jo crossed the wooden deck and made her way down the steps. She was dressed for the day in a pair of well worn dark blue sweat pants, a pink baby doll style t-shirt and tennis shoes. As she walked over to the barn. She could already hear the music and she smiled happily while she watched her husband playing with the ball as he sung along to the tune.
Moving to stand next to Curse she grinned at him. Cocking her head to the side and giving him a bit of a mischievous look. She cleared her throat a little before she spoke. "Hey baby... You know, I have a bit of a confession to make. I've never actually played football before." She gave her husband a bit of a smirk. Pretty sure that actually knowing how to play the game wasn't going to be important today. It was supposed to be all in fun and the rules probably didn't really matter all that much.

Natalya pulled up outside the Jordan home, looking at the GPS laying in the seat beside her to make sure that she was in the right place. Turning off the engine, she looked around, smiling as she noticed that the place was really nice. Grabbing the GPS, she turned it off and stuffed it in the glove compartment; then, she grabbed the huge cake she'd ordered just for this party and carefully slid out of the truck, closing the door behind her and shoving her keys into her pocket.
The cake Natalya had ordered was a rather large one - a sheet cake decorated to look like a football field with the opposing teams logos painted on it. Little yellow, plastic field goals were set up at each end. The cake was so big though that it took both hands to hold it up as she made her way carefully up to the door. Making it to the door, Natalya stuck her elbow out and pushed the doorbell button, listening as it rang through the house from behind the closed door.
Standing there for a moment, Natalya listened and heard music coming from around back. Stepping carefully, she began making her way around back, hoping to find someone there. Coming around the house, Natalya smiled when she saw Curse and Jo back there, the two of them standing together. Jo looked cute in her sweatpants and baby doll tee, causing Natalya to smile. Having a baby always seemed to make a woman look cute. With that thought in her head making her smile, Natalya made her way over to the barn where Curse and Jo were.
Hey guys, she greeting, her smile greeting them as well as she approached since she couldn't wave because her hands were full.

With the windows down and the radio screaming Keith Urban’s “Kiss a Girl,” a little red ford flatbed came rushing down the road like a tow truck was hot on its rubbery heels. A loud, very untrained voice sang along with the lyrics and whooped at the guitar solos, and at every high note, a loud laugh could be heard.
All in all, a certain crazy bar owner was pumped at the idea of a game of touch football. Sure, she was really a diehard hockey fan, she was probably more into tackling one particular guy than the opposing team, and there was also the fact that she probably knew none of the people who would be showing up…
But hell, a chance to get out of the bar and have a bit of full contact fun? Not to mention being able to throw herself at people without the threat of getting thrown into a jail cell next to Bubba Jane? She was so in, with a arm load of chips and her own special melt-your-tonsils dip.
Dirt flew as she stomped on the brake in front of a homey little ranch-style house. Man, talk about a nice place. In the past, she’d always looked at farms and rolling hills as being something akin to torture, bereft of the familiar wail of a siren or the scream of some poor bastard getting knifed down the street. But after living in Louisiana for a good bit of time, she was starting to appreciate nature.
Well…as much as her bug spray, portable potty and New Orleans-comfort-zone would allow.
Giving the scribbled directions clenched in her hand one last glance, Ilani nodded to herself and hopped out of the truck. The door gave a whining squeal as she slammed it closed, and sliding her arm around her family sized container or dip and chips, she strolled down the drive toward the house.
And it was only then that she proceeded to stop, look down at her butt to make sure she hadn’t sat in something and/or forgotten some critical piece of clothing- yeah, that last public indecency charge? So not her fault- thus earning her the instant hatred of whoever she was about to meet inside. So, let’s see. Check the belly cut Brooklyn Dodger’s t-shirt that showed off the tattoo on her back, black sweatpants and sneakers. And yep, she’d remembered to put in her vampire fang scrungies to keep her hair- now streaked a neon green- out of her eyes. Everything present and accounted for.
With that, she went back to walking toward the house. Hearing voices from around back, she followed the noise until she spotted some faces.
“Hello, everybody!” She said with a grin, her free hand coming up in a wave. “I’m Ilani and I swear, I’m not crashing. Well, not really. I was supposed to meet Derek here…but I guess I’m early. But anywhoo, hello! I come bearing gifts of the ‘set your mouth on fire’ kind.”

Derek wasn't sure how he had gotten roped into this but when Jo had called him and invited him out for a friendly game of flag football, the wolf had found himself agreeing. Halloween had never been his most favorite of holidays and he hated the fuss alot of people made at the club so he was actually thankful to have something else to do.
Sibeal and Charlie had agreed to watch the club for the night and before he'd known what he was doing, he'd picked up the phone and called Ilani to see if she would like to go with him. When she'd agreed, he'd told her he had some business out of town that morning but he'd be back in time for the game if she wanted to go ahead and drive herself out to the Jordan place. Hanging up shortly there after, the wolf had rubbed his chin and wondered just what he was doing. The woman had gotten under his skin like no other and he found himself unable to stay away from her.
Now, the Saturday had arrived and he'd spent the night running through the forest to burn off some of his pent up energy. Catching a quick nap through the morning, he'd showered, shaved and slipped into black athletic pants and a white tshirt before heading out to his friends place. He was actually anxious to see how his brother in arms was doing after being home almost 2 months. He'd heard he'd gotten in a brawl awhile back and landed in jail so he figured he must be feeling better.
Pulling his silver off road Jeep up next to an older truck, Derek flipped off the ignition and climbed from the vehicle. Grabbing a case of beer and a bag of chex mix from the back, he headed around the house placed it on a table before looking around. Hearing voices he meandered towards the barn and was unsuprised to see Curse, Jo, Ilani and another young woman he didn't know already standing there talking. Arching a brow, Derek crossed his arms and pasted on a frown.
"Curse Jordan.. You dog.. I might have known I'd find you out here hogging all the beautiful women." he said in a dry tone.
While he was talking, he let his eyes rove over Ilani and wondered just what kind of a greeting he was going to get in this company.

Konada stopped her new truck next to a couple other vehicles in the large driveway that was starting to look like a park and ride lot. The truck wasn't really new, it had been a leased vehicle, but it was new to her. It was the replacement for the one that had been wreaked a few months ago and the accident settlement had finally come through. What annoyed her the most was that the settlement that was supposed to put everything right and back where she had been, wasn't nearly large enough to really pay for her to be where she had been before the accident. The payments on her old truck were $100.00 less a month than this new one and she had twice as many payments left. So much for getting back to where she had been. Looking over at the house Konada wondered again, if she really should have come, she didn't know hardly any of the people that would be here today, but Jo had insisted that that didn't matter, last night as the Silver Bullet when she had invited the trainer to the party. Well she was here now she might just as well get out and say 'Hi' so out she got and went around to the passenger side to pull out one of the two large boxes of Fireworks she had brought for the event. For half a heartbeat this morning she had thought she might bring some kind of food today, but she decided that there would be more than enough food without her adding too it, and fireworks were always fun to watch and snuggle too after a day of fun and sun. Not that she had anyone to cuddle with. A tremor of remembered fear snaked down her back. Shaking off her sudden unease, she pulled out the second box and balanced both in her arms as she hip checked the door closed and started around the side of the house to where she heard the music coming from. As she came around the side of the house several things happened; she spotted Jo; started to call her hello's to the small group gathered; ”Hi everyone I though .... Oh Help!” and the top box started to slip.

From the corner of his eye, Curse say his wife approach and gave her a smile. When she annouced that she had never played football before, he gave her a grin and wrapped an arm about her.
"Well Darlin... Its not real hard. The object of the game is to get your hands on the ball and run down the field to score a touchdown. As long as your running the right direction and have the ball... Its all good."
Before he could say anything more, however, the sound of a car approaching caused them both to look up and he sighed. It was guests arriving.
"Guess its game time!" he said before smiling at the people arriving in droves. A blond was the first one to appear followed by a chirpy brunette. "Hey .... glad you could make it. I think we are pretty well set up so just set your stuff on the tables."
Letting his wife go, he was taking in the brunettes skull scrunchies and laughing when another familiar voice rang out in a dry tone. Turning his head slightly, Curse snorted and then moved over to say hello to his comrade of arms.
"DeVoux.... About time you gotcha ass out of that fancy chair and came to play some football. I beat you've gotten soft with all those women around."
Then, glancing at the others, he smirked and gave him a shoove.
"And yeah.. some of us have charm and don't growl at everything we see."

JoJo leaned her body against Curse as he put his arm around her. Listening to him explain the game. She mumbled something about "the right direction," and chuckled.
At the sound of a vehicle pulling up Jo smiled. Curse directed people to set their things down on the tables. Jo moved to start helping people. There was a blond woman that Jo had met briefly before and she approached her. "Hi, you're Natalya right? I'm glad you came. The cake looks awesome. You can just set it right here on the table. That's my husband Curse over there." Jo indicated the table where she could unload the cake and then waved in the direction of her husband as she pointed him out.
The next arrival was a dark haired woman who joked about crashing the party and mentioned she was meeting Derek. Jo's eyebrow raised up at that one. Giving the woman a little wave as she thought. So... This was Derek's new mystery woman. Jo made a mental note to talk to her at some point during the day.
Then as if he knew his name had been spoken, Derek himself came walking toward them. Jo couldn't help but grin at the site of Derek. She owed him a debt that could never be repaid for bringing her husband back to her. Jo made her way over to Derek and gave him a quick friendly hug. "Hi Derek, it's good to see you. I see you invited your new friend. I haven't met her yet, but I think I like her already." Jo then excused herself as another new arrival greeted them and was having trouble with their packages. Another brunette woman that Jo had met at the Silver Bullet. Jo made it to the woman's side just in time to catch the package she nearly dropped. "Hi Konada, I'm happy you decided to come out. It's nice to see you again." Jo looked at the package in her hand and smirked. Then she made a motion toward the barn as she spoke again. "Fireworks... Cool. I think we should put these in the barn... And it would probably be smart to keep my husband away from them. He's such a kid when it comes to things like this." Carrying the box over to the barn she set it down just inside the door against the wall. Then she moved back outside. Glancing around looking out for more guests to arrive or anyone that needed anything.

Natalya nodded a return greeting to Curse and Jo, but she turned when she heard other guests coming up behind her. Two girls and a guy, and as their names were mentioned, she mentally logged them to memory so that she wouldn't forget them. As Jo and Curse had directed her, Natalya took the cake and set it down on one of the table, glad to get that heavy weight off her arms.
Hey guys, I got a couple more things in the truck, so I'll be right back, she said then headed back to her truck. Walking around to the passenger side, she opened the door, but for a moment, she just stood there and leaned against the door. She was so tired; lots of hunting coupled with little sleep was starting to take its toll on her, but this was going to be a fun day, and she wasn't going to let a little tiredness ruin it - not for her or for anyone else here. Looking down at her outfit - a pair of black athletic pants with a white stripe down the side of each leg, a cutoff football jersey that showed off her toned belly in the front and the Ace of Spades with crossed pearl-handled pistols tattoo in the back, and a pair of white sneakers with black details - she made sure that everything was okay as she grabbed the containers of football shaped cookies she'd made and closed the door, making her way back to the party area.
Coming around the side of the house, she smiled as she noticed fireworks. Natalya had always loved fireworks, and when she was younger, had always been the one to shoot them back home, having done some pretty cool displays for her family. At the singular thought of her family, Natalya felt something gnaw at her within, but she wasn't going to ruin this day; she was going to have fun, and that was that. So, she pushed that sadness way down deep as she jogged over to the barn to rejoin everyone else, setting the cookies down on the table next to the cake she'd brought.

Sammie was nervous to say the least as she and Sam pulled into the long drive of his friends sprawling estate. Tapping her fingers restlessly on her knee, she glanced sideways at her companion and then into the back seat where she'd put the apple pie and the chocolate cupcakes.
When Sam had first gotten the call about the little get together, she's thought it would be fun but now that she'd told him her "little secret" he was acting all sorts of funny and had barely let her carry the container of cakes out to the car, much less anything else. She'd had to bit her lip in order not to ask him what he thought the harm was but it was so endearingly cute that she ended up smiling. Now, as he pulled the mustang up to a few other vehicles, she hoped he wasn't going to forbid her to play football just because she was pregnant. The doctor had assured her that excerise was fine and as long as it wasn't TACKLE football then she had no worries.
Climbing from the car when he finally shut the ignition off, the pretty brunette opened the backdoor to pull out the deserts and immediately ran into Sam as he tried to pluck them from her hand. Pulling them back sharply, she gave him a frown and shook her head.
"Honey... I"m pregnant.. Not handicapped. I'm perfectly capable of carrying the dessert. Why don't you grab that case of beer though if you want to be my hero?"
Standing on tiptoes, she gave him a quick kiss to take the sting out of her rebuke before sliding around him and waiting for him to grab the drinks.
"Sam... I'm SO nervous... I don't know anyone .." she said fretfully. "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea..."

SamSam drove mostly in silence on their way over to the Jordan place. He had a lot on his mind recently with the revelation that he was going to be a father. It was also a bit odd that they were going over to Jo's house for a Halloween football game. Until they had come to New Orleans they hadn't seen Jo in quite some time. He was glad that she seemed to harbor no ill will toward him and she had moved on with her life. She seemed happily married and the mother of twins. Things were good for her, that didn't mean that Sam didn't still feel a twinge of guilt every once in awhile.
Pulling into the entrance of the driveway Sam gave a look around at the property. Sam knew that they owned quite a bit of acreage and that the property adjoined with Lexi and Max's place. Yeah... Jo had definitely moved on.
Sam parked the car with the other cars already there and got out of the vehicle. Moving around quickly he tried to get the food items but Sammie had beat him to it. He sighed as she pulled the away and admonished him for treating her like she was 'handicapped'.
With a bit of a pout on his face he moved the trunk and got out the case of beer they had brought. Hefting the case onto his shoulder he returned to Sammie's side, walking with her toward where they could hear music coming from behind the house. Putting his arm around her shoulders he kissed the top of her head. "It's going to be fine. I don't know a lot of the people here either. The ones I do know are good people, it will be fun." Sam gave a quick wave as he saw Jo come into view. Then steering Sammie toward one of the tables so she could put the pie and cupcakes down on. He then set the beer down next to one of the chests of ice.

The walk over from their own house passed without event and Lexi grinned when she saw all the other cars already parked in front of the Jordan's house. Max carried Bastian's carrier and Lexi carried the bag of chips, buns and other various goodies for the party. It was going to be a nice enjoyable evening just playing a game and being with friends. Not a bad thing on an autumn Saturday.
Lacing her fingers in with Max's, the pretty blond smiled and heard laughter coming from out by the bar. Pulling her husband in that direction, she waved at everyone as they approached and nodded to the unfamiliar faces.
"Hey Jo! Hey Curse! Hows things going? Are we ready to play some football or what??"
Setting her things on a nearby table, Lexi saw another couple approaching and grinned before bouncing over to give Sam a hug.
"Hey there good lookin! You didnt say hello that night you were in the club! Whats up with that? You suddenly got an aversion to me? I don't bit hard and you know it!"

A cool breeze caressed his hair and Max Blair smiled as his wife laced her fingers with his. For him, life couldn’t get any better than this. Even little Bastian seemed to agree as he produced the cutest little smile the proud young father could ever see. Family and good friends sharing an enjoyable night, with no demons or angels on sight…yeah, it couldn’t get any better than this.
He could pick the excitement on his wife eyes, and it caused a huge grin to spread slowly over his features as she pulled him along. He had learned a curious fact, that when she smiled like she was doing right now, the entire world seemed brighter to him.
Waving to the familiar faces, and a few unfamiliar, he nodded to Sam and let his wife talk to him while he moved to take his son in his arms and give another one of that proud father smiles.
Turning to Curse, he watched his friend with a glint of mischief and teasing light on his eyes. “So what about it Jordan, you’re going to stand back and babysit the kids or you’re going to shame yourself trying to play some football?”

When Caleb had rang a few hours earlier asking for a ride because his bike was out of action and he needed to get somewhere important in a hurry, Dakota having nothing else better to do had come to his aid. She had gotten the impression because of the urgency that he was he was headed out on some kind of hunt but he’d hung up on her before she had a chance to ask. When she’d arrived to pick him up he’d been in too much of a hurry and she’d decided to leave the questions until they’d reached their destination. She had been however, more than a little confused when he’d asked her to stop at a drive through bottle shop so he could pick up a six-pack of beer and a large packet of chips. Maybe the hunt involved a stakeout? Dakota had been about to lecture him on the safety issues involving the consummation of alcohol and the handling of firearms but he’d barked an address at her and as he seemed to be in such a huge hurry she’d again decided to leave the questions until they’d reached their destination.
So now they were finally here, Dakota sat on her bike for a moment after she’d removed her helmet and gloves and looked at the sprawling ranch they were parked out the front off. This didn’t exactly look like the kind of place that had some kind of evil lurking in the basement but then you couldn’t always tell maybe they had wererats in the attic, she thought with a grin. After securing her helmet she unzipped her leather jacket and reached into her holster to pull out her gun and check the clip before replacing it.
”Well I’m good to go….” she just naturally assumed he would be needing some help on this hunt and didn’t expect her to just sit around and wait to give him a ride home after he’d killed whatever it was he’d come here to hunt. She turned her head slightly and glanced back over her shoulder. ”You know it’s safe to let go now we have come to a complete stop.” She knew she was a good rider and if he tried to give her any crap about female riders she’d bust his ass for it, although she had deliberately hugged a few corners a little too tightly, just to rattle him a bit.

Sure Caleb could had told Dakota that there was nothing wrong with his bike, that he was just going to play some football with some friends and that he was inviting her on a date. But knowing her so far, he was sure she would put on her though gal front say no without even giving it a chance…and like hell he was just going to admit he had a crush on her.
He had to admit it was nice of this Curse guy to invite him after he had saved his ass. Truth was that he didn’t even know the guy and had tagged along because Derek had asked him to. Bottom line, he had seen an opportunity to bash some heads, something he always have taken great joy in it. As far as he knew it, there was no better way to relieve stress…well, maybe there was just one way that was better.
So he was supposed to bring some food along, and as far as he was concerned, a bag of chips and a six-pack of beer was food.
”You know it’s safe to let go now we have come to a complete stop.”
Smirking, he unwrapped his arms from around her waist, “Yeah, right…” he said to her and climbed off the bike. “Now why don’t you put that gun away so that no one thinks you’re a scary psycho chick?”
So this was the time she was probably going to kick his ass. “And try not to kill anyone in here? Some of this people are my friends. Now let’s just have some fun and play a little football. That’s why we are here, right?”
Without waiting for her reply he started to move towards the house and the sound of the voices. If there was an audience, she might not feel so inclined to kick his ass for tricking her.
