After wasting the demon back at the cemetery and collecting the clue that they’d need to find that ever elusive ‘Seal,’ the two would-be hero’s piled into their awaiting metal steed, hightailed it out of Ghost Country, made it back to their Castle Motel without any mishap…
And proceeded to show each other what ‘great sex’ really meant. Damn, if there was one thing that Dean was convinced of, it was that there was nothing more conducive to some good sheet tumbling, than a hunt. He was no poster boy for the life and hell if he didn’t consider abandoning the world to the flaming Pit at times, but…day-am.
Rays of morning sunlight poking through the cracked shades of his room was what roused him from his slumber. Stretching muscles sore in places that made him grin, he glanced at the clock on the nightstand next to his head and blinked in surprise. Holy shit, did those little red numbers really say 9:30? Had he actually gotten a full night’s sleep?
…Okay, so maybe saying ‘full’ was pushing it, given some of his extracurricular activities, but hell if this wasn’t the most relaxed he’d felt in a while. Maybe all a good relationship needed was some life threatening mayhem. Huh.
Rolling over onto his side, Dean propped his head up onto his arm, a small smile on his face as he took in the scenery next to him. Jessie was curled up beside him…oh hell, scratch that. Jessie was pretty much sprawled face down on the mattress and it was a freaking miracle that he’d stayed on the bed at all. Her hair was out in waves and a soft snore informed him that she was as tuckered out by last night’s fun as he was. Gently, he traced his finger along the curve of her shoulder, watching the slight rise and fall of her back.
Man, save his shriveled heart from re-inflating, and from stubborn women intent on making him feel things he never knew existed. There was only so much that a guy could take after living a life best fit for some kind of twisted Dexter wanna-be.
He knew that her Hunter-sense was probably going bat shit crazy as he sat up and slid out of the bed, but he did his best to make things as quiet as possible. He was halfway across the room and pulling on a pair of clean-enough jeans when he heard her grumble from the bed, and with a grin, ignored the ‘I can’t believe you just woke me up, you fuckshit’ glare that was tossed her way.
“Get up, you lazy woman,” He mock growled, padding over to the bed to yank the covers off the mattress. He narrowly missed getting beaned with a pillow and the lamp- feisty thing in the morning, wasn’t she?- and retreated to the bathroom with a laugh. “There’s a clue to research and a brother of mine to blackmail into doing it. Get dressed, darlin’, it’s time to work.”
And about an hour, two pillows to the face and some revenge not-so-warfare in the shower later, the two were sitting pretty in the Impala, listening to Creedence croon about black waters. Traffic was good, the weather was cool, Jessie was looking like some sexy Amazon with her hair trailing behind in the highway wind…all in all, it was turning out to be a great day.
But neither one of them had had to face a pregnant lady whose husband was about to be kidnapped. Aw hell.
“Well, I hope Sammie doesn’t mind her husband getting kidnapped without warning,” He said with a sideways grin to Jessie, parking the Impala in his brother’s driveway. A quaint little place it was, all domestic-like. The sight gave him both the urge to run away screaming and wonder what home cooked meals really tasted like.

The feel of the bed moving slightly as Dean climbed out of it brought Jessie awake regretfully as her body objected to the said movement. Rolling over, she flinched at the stiffness of her limbs and the feeling of sore muscles in spots she hadn't even known could get sore. The blatant reminder had her body doing a chorus of praises to the all mighty even while her brain put a leash on those wayward thoughts.
With a groan, Jess opened one eye to see him pulling on jeans and glared before throwing herself into their normal morning ritual of him pulling the covers off and her growly response even as she fell out of bed and went about the business of making herself presentable. Never a morning person, her bad mood was only negated by a enlightening shower and a huge carafe of coffee from a nearby coffee shop.
Finally, dressed in faded jeans and a worn sweatshirt with the "Some Girls Play House, Real Girls Go HUNTING" logo on it, Jess was sprawled out in the seat next to Dean as he drove towards Sam and Samantha's new house. Flipping her shades down over her eyes in reproach to the unusually bright January sun, the huntress sang along to the radio and tapped her fingers a bit impatiently on the window.
Her gaze was constantly looking around and she gave Dean and impish grin as he pulled up in front of a quaint, cheerful little residence. Yup, this was definitely a place she could imagine Sam being happy in. She'd always thought he would make the good family man sort. Climbing from the Impala, the brunette waited for Dean to join her and then took his hand, tugging him up the walkway and to the door. Reaching out, she rang the doorbell and then waited to see who would answer.
All in all, Jessie hoped that Sammie wouldn't be to upset with them crashing in on their newlywed state but Sam WAS the brains of the outfit.... At least, he seemed to come up with answers a hell of a lot faster than she or Dean were. Hopefully, something about this latest clue would make sense to him, too.
Glancing back at Dean, she took in his somewhat uncomfortable look and then poked him.
"Geez...We're just visiting your brother... Its not like you have to live here." she teased just as the door began to open.

SamSam had been sound asleep, trying to sleep in this morning, when the doorbell rang and jarred him awake. He yawned and rubbed his face to trying to wake himself up. Tilting his head from side to side to stretch his neck out. Finally, he leaned over and kissed Sammie on the check and whispered to her. "Don't get up, go back to sleep. I'll get the door and be right back." Climbing out of the bed he stretched a little, dressed only in a pair of flannel pajama pants he grabbed a t-shirt as he headed out of the bedroom to the front door. Walking down the hall he slipped the shirt on. He rubbed his eyes and yawned again as he approached the front door. Giving a quick look out the peep-hole in the door, he closed his eyes and sighed when he saw who it was. Sam took a step back and opened the door. Sam gave Jessie a little smile then turned to give his brother a not quite as friendly look. "Hey Dean... What are you doing here? In the morning... Unannounced?" Sam was still half asleep so he shook his head to try and clear out the cobwebs. Letting out a deep breath as he looked at his brother. Stepping back he pulled the door open wider so they could come inside. "Sorry, I was asleep. Come on in, you guys want coffee or something?"

“Yeah, well, I happen to have it on a high authority that pregnant women are scary,” Dean grumbled in reply, just as the front door opened. For a minute, as Sam’s groggy face appeared in the doorway, something akin to regret did a little dance in his chest before he pushed it back.
Sometimes, he really did miss having his little brother around. He’d never been a big fan of change, and now that Sam was doing the whole ‘Marriage Thing…’
Aw crap, there he went again; Chick Flick Land. Man, throw a bloodthirsty monster at him so he could get his mojo back on.
Shoving the thoughts to the back of his head where they belonged, the older Winchester did a little hop-skip back and let loose a mock girlish scream. “IT AWAKES!” He gasped dramatically, eyes wide and face in a horrified mask. “Quick, Jessie, get the shotgun!”
He was about to go on, to continue to make B-movie noises, but the sudden thought of said scary pregnant lady flashed into his mind, and he sobered with a little snicker. Eyeing his brother with his usual, trademark grin, he crossed his arms over his chest.
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” He drawled, cocking a brow. “Did we forget to make an appointment? Well, if you have anything open for this morning…hell, Sammy. Unannounced.”
With a brotherly elbow as he walked by, Dean followed Jessie over the threshold. Pausing in the foyer, he instinctively took in the atmosphere and immediately felt like he’d stepped into the Twilight Zone.
Man, the place was homey. Not tacky, cheap or smelling like feet…but homey. A Winchester was really married; he was never going to get over it. Rubbing the back of his neck, he inched a bit closer to Jessie without realizing he did so.
“Well, it’s time to wake up and go to work, little brother. We’ve got Apocalypse issues…again” He said after a minute. But, at the thought of coffee, he immediately turned to head to the kitchen. Damn, he could definitely use a good, strong cup of coffee.
And pie. Damn, he did hope that the newlyweds were fans of homemade pie.

Rolling her eyes at Dean's antics, Jess looked at Sam and shrugged her shoulders as if to say "Hey.... You know how he is.". With a slight movement, she elbowed Dean lightly in the gut and hissed a "Behave or no cookies for you tonight" at him before looking back at the sleepy eyed Sam. Her eyes twinkled a bit as she heard his greeting and then his offer of coffee.
"Yeah... coffee sounds great actually." she agreed with a thankful nod.
Giving the taller brother a rueful grin, she entered the house and looked around awkwardly as she listened to the pair bicker back and forth. Although she and Dean had dated for a few months awhile back, she hadn't had the chance to get to know Sam all that well. There had been something going on between the brothers and Jessie hadn't wanted to push at a situation that had seemed a bit .. volatile ... to say the least.
Since they had made up, Sam had been busy getting married and settling into this new, normal life with his wife and soon to be child. And now here they were.... Here to drag him right back into the muck he'd been hauling himself out of. That thought had Jessie sighing and a frown marring her brow as she watched the pair.
In some ways, she thought Dean was right... Sammie wasn't going to be at all happy with them when she figured out what they were there for and she couldn't blame the woman in the least.
Unfortunately, they didn't have a choice, though. They needed him in order to help piece together the puzzle that they had found. Heaven help them all. God forbid any of them succeed in having a normal, happy life. That might just bring the whole freaking world to a stop in and of itself.
"Hey Sam.... Ignore your brother.. you know how he is... How've you been? Sammie doing all right? Nice place you have here, by the way...."
Realizing she was rambling a bit, she smacked on a huge grin and shifted restlessly on her feet. Reaching up, she ran a hand through her hair and then let her feet follow Dean into the kitchen.
"Sorry for dropping on on you like this..... We tried to call but... Didn't want to leave a message..... You know.. just in case..... "

SamSam basically just gave his brother a look, but otherwise ignored his snarky comments. He nodded at Jessie and smirked a bit. Yeah... he didn't need to be reminded, he knew all too well how his brother was. "Sammie's doing good, we're settling in. It's a bit weird I suppose for me, but it's nice just the same." Shaking his head a bit, still bemused by his brother, Sam went into he kitchen. Rummaging around Sam went about setting up the coffee maker. Putting in a filter, dumping in some coffee, adding water and then turning the machine on. He spoke to Dean as he worked. "I don't know if we have any pie, but you can look in the fridge if you're hungry. I'm sure there is something. I know you're not picky. Would you like something Jessie?" Sam then waved toward the kitchen table. Inviting them to sit down while he went to the cupboard to get the coffee cups out. Setting the mugs down he turned around and leaned with his back up against the counter. Waiting for the coffee to finish being made. "So... What brings you two here? Something is up, I can tell."

Coffee, coffee, coffee. Ah, a guy just couldn’t face the end of the world without some good, strong caffeine running through his system.
Not to mention facing the fact that his brother, who was finally trying to live the ‘dream’ of being a semi-normal dad and husband, was about to be involved in another Lucifer-thing. Rubbing the back of his neck, Dean leaned a hip against the side of the kitchen counter, eyes on the slowly percolating coffee as a sigh left his lips.
Man, there wasn’t anything he’d give to let Sam be and become his kid’s favorite uncle someday. There was always that little finger of guilt hiding in the back of his head, poking at his time spent in Hell like some kind of bratty two year old with a new kitten. But he pushed it away with a practiced ease, focusing on the present situation at hand.
Sam wanted a normal life and he, as his loving brother, wanted it for him too. But what the hell was a normal life when the world was about to go up in smoke? He would try to leave the guy out of things as much as he could, but there were just some things that the Winchesters were better off dealing with.
Or, at least, this Winchester. It wasn’t like he was incapable of researching, but Sammy just did it SO much better…
Going over to the fridge, he poked his head inside and happily pulled out a slice of wrapped up pie. Man, he so did like that his brother’s girl could cook. Snagging a stray fork from the counter, he proceeded to begin inhaling.
“It’s about the ring,” He said through a mouthful of apple crust. “Jessie and me found a clue about some dead guy’s tomb in the cemetery. When we went in to take a look, we met an angry ghost, got some kind of riddle…and got attacked by a demon. So you know that we’re on the right track.”
He paused after a few bites of the pie, glanced up at Jessie and offered her the plate with a martyred sigh. Giving up his pie was a sure sign of being whipped, but hell, he was happy when his girl was happy.
“All we need is a bit of research, Sam, and that’s it. Think you’re up to that, or is the married life making you too deliriously happy to think straight?”

Giving Sam a bright smile, Jessie shook her head at his offer. Leaning on the counter, she looked him over good and then teased him a bit.
"Damn, Sam.... I have to say... This whole settling down thing looks good on you. You... look happy.... I can't think of a better person who deserves that. I bet your excited about the baby! Your going to be a great dad." she said meaningfully.
Turning her eyes to Dean, she watched him make himself at home and rolled her eyes. Dean would always be Dean but that was why she adored him. It was also why she knew Sam wanted to strangle him 90% of the time. Brothers they might be but they were as different as night and day. Each one had strengths the other didn't but they were both strong, intelligent men. Even if Dean liked to downplay his brains most of the time.
Remaining silent for the time being, the huntress allowed her man to do the talking and only chimed in on important parts he missed. Pulling a sheet out of her pocket, she handed it to Sam and shrugged.
"This is the riddle we found.... We are hoping its a clue to finding the damned seal that everyone and their dog seems to be looking for. The crypt itself was booby trapped and I think that we got to it before any demons could."
Giving Dean a poke with her finger over his marriage crack, the pretty brunette meet his gaze with a "BEHAVE" look and then helped herself to some coffee.
"Why can't anything be SIMPLE? I swear... its like a treasure hunt without any hints."
