An autumn chill was in the air as a people bustled through theevening breeze towards the local high school football game. All dressed in home town sweatshirts and carrying cushions for the bleacher seats, they looked suprisingly innocent to the young brunette watching from her car.
On a whim, Jessie Coulter had followed a line of cars to see what was happening and it wasn't long before she'd been captivated by the scene. Pulling into the parking lot, she'd stopped the challenger and observed the action around her. Kids jumped out of cars laughing and chatting while parents spoke proudly of their star athlete.
Almost without thought, the young woman found herself following after a group of kids and paying her $8 to get through the gate. There wasn't any plan to her actions but just a desire to do something "normal" for a change. She'd always enjoyed watching Trey play football whenever they'd stayed long enough in one town for him to actually get the chance and tonight she found herself being drawn back to those days.
Once inside the stadium part, Jess made her way through the milling crowd and caught the smell of popcorn. Enhaling it, she smiled to herself and then several minutes waiting in the consession line for her treat before turning to the main spectator area. Making her way to an empty section of seats, the pretty young woman pulled her hoodie up around her neck and nodded a greeting to someone who gave her a smile.
Munching on popcorn and sipping a coke, she waited for the game to begin and then found herself shouting along with the crowd for no good reason. The first quarter held her engrossed as the plays were made and one player was even carried off the field with a minor injury. Each whistle blow made her groan or shout with glee and she felt relaxed for the first time since all hell had broken loose.... Literally.

Andrew pulled into the parking lot in his slightly rusted 1988 Ford Ranger. He circled a few times, trying to find a spot big enough to fit his pride and joy. Once that minor problem was solved he turned off the rumbling engine and took a look in the rearview mirror. Bright blue eyes stared back at him. Tonight was all about having a good time and enjoying some Football. He needed to push all those worrying thoughts about Supernatural creatures and the whole apocalypse hanging over the world to the back of his mind if he wanted to keep his sanity.
Without a second thought, Andy slid out of his truck and grabbed his jacket. It was a cool night and he had noticed the days were getting shorter; a sure sign that autumn was in full swing. The hunter buried his hands in his pockets as he slowly followed behind a short line of people that had also arrived late. His eyes scanned the stadium; it was pretty well packed. He handed the woman his $8 dollars and then went to find a seat.
‘Looks like I missed the first quarter…’ He thought to himself in disappointment. Andy then focused his attention back on finding a suitable seat. He soon spotted a somewhat bare row with a beautiful young woman sitting; he figured it was the beat seat in the house. “Excuse me miss, I’m just gonna sneak by ya.” He said politely while slipping past in front of the woman then taking a seat not too close to her. Andy found himself already engrossed with the action happening on the field, he had yet to realize he was sitting by an old friend whom he hasn’t seen in at least one year.
Leaning forward with excitement, he watched as a player ran full speed with the ball. “Come on…” He muttered under his breath. His blue eyes followed the players every move until finally, a touchdown. Andy threw his hands in the air and jumped to his feet. “Hell yeah! That’s what I’m talking about!” He yelled out while other people cheered. Exhaling deeply, the hunter then sat back down. He turned his head and looked at the young woman beside him, flashing those dimples in a smile. “Good game, ri-” His words stopped abruptly as he stared at her face; the flashbacks overwhelming his mind.

“Excuse me miss, I’m just gonna sneak by ya.”
So engrossed in the game, Jessie didn't even give the man sliding next to her any attention. Screaming at a particular nasty play on the field, she jumped up and down with the rest of the crowd and hooted. Football was just so normal that she loved each and every moment of it. It wasn't something she could often indulge in and tonight felt like a moment out of time.
“Hell yeah! That’s what I’m talking about!”
Grinning wildly, the pretty young brunette heard the man shout beside her and then everything inside her froze. Falling completely silent she couldn't breath as memories rush back to her of another night almost like this with a man who'd managed to make her question her whole lifes work. Closing her eyes for a moment, she worked to control the panic in her middle by convincing herself she was imagining things. Andy wasn't in New Orleans and he wasn't sitting next to her at some little hometown football game. As far as she knew, he was probably back home falling in love with some lucky little southern belle and moving on with his life. Hopefully, anyways... The guy absolutely deserved to be.
Taking a deep breath, Jessie forced herself to take the dive and turned to look at the man beside her. Forcing a smile, she started at his feet and knew what she would find even before her eyes met his face. She'd know that body anywhere since she'd spent a couple weeks admiring it that summer.
“Good game, ri-”
By the time her eyes meet his, shock and disbelief blazed in her emerald depths and she could see it mirrored in his. OH HELL! she thought to herself before bolting out of her seat and across the football fans on her other side. Rational thought flew out the window and the fight or flight reflex every human was born with kicked in and in her cause... It demanded flight.
Ignoring the angry curses behind her, she hit the stairs and took off down them like a bat out of hell. Moving blindly, she duck her head as she moved past the milling teenagers and then broke out into a run for her car. The chant in her mind along the way went something like "Oh hell, oh hell, oh hell... What insane god did I piss off this time to have this happen? Wait... Why the hell am I running? Oh yeah, stupid! Your running cause your a moron and can't handle feelings like a normal human being.. You've got such a yellow streak ... You owe him an explaination but you don't want to cop to the feelings you have but can't explain..."
Reaching her challenger, she pulled out her keys only to drop them in the dirt. Wanting to scream in frustration, the huntress ducked down to search for them and then bolted upright only to slam her head into the rear view mirror. Dropping to the ground on her ass, she swore and leaned her back on the car.
"Somewhere, someone is laughing at me....I just know it.... This is some insane practical joke to make me loose my mind...." she muttered to herself while rubbing her head.
Hearing footsteps, she looked up and sighed. She was so screwed.

In one moment all the memories and feelings Andrew Cooper had placed in the past came thundering back up to the surface as he stared into those familiar eyes. It was her, there was no denying it. The woman that had stolen his heart one year prior, Jessica Coulter, was sitting beside him. Instantly, the noise of the crowd and the sea of bodies surrounding him disappeared. Andy was consumed by his thoughts and memories. He could almost feel that painful sting of the bullet she shot into his body all over again.
Before the hunter could open his mouth and acknowledge that he knew who she was, the pretty brunette took off like a spooked filly, leaving Andy once again questioning what the hell just happened. “Oh no you don’t…” He muttered softly. There was no chance in hell he was letting her run away and ignore her problems like last time. Nope, it was time for a change. Andy wanted an explanation for everything that had happened and her side of the story.
Jumping to his feet, he started to quickly make his way down the stadium and towards the parking lot. Sure, people were pissed that yet another person was bolting by and disrupting their view, but Andy could care less. At the moment he had one thing on his mind. Just then a large family group stepped out in front of him. The hunter cursed his bad luck under his breath and stood on the toe of his boots in an effort to see over their heads. “Damnit…” He mumbled. Finally, he was able to break free into the dark parking lot.
Andy stood there for a moment, his blue eyes scanning the area. His heart pounded in his chest and his adrenaline was running high. It was amazing that just the sight of the female huntress could make such an impact on him. Just then, he spotted the brunette sitting on the dirt with her back leaning against her vehicle. Andy let out a deep sigh and calmly approached. Once he stood no more than a few feet away he kneeled down. His face held a serious expression but his icy blue eyes were soft and gentle in appearance.
“Jessie…” He said with a tender tone. Andrew was lost for words; what was he supposed to say in a situation like this? His gaze fell to the ground as the silence surrounded them. “How have you been?” He finally managed to choke out with a forced smile. Being the gentleman that he was, Andy didn’t want to start bombing her with questions or start demanding an explanation. It was obvious that the trust she once had in him was gone, which was understandable. After all, he did end up attacking her when he became possessed.

The time of reckoning had arrived. As Jessie's eye traveled up Andrews form to those soul melting blue eyes, she knew she was in trouble. BIG TROUBLE. All those questions she didn't want to answer lurked in the blue depths and she closed her eyes tight against the feelings that stirred.
"Um... Hey Andrew... Interesting game wasn't it? That last play.. Man...I really thought he was going to lose that snap."she gulped out before peeking up at him through her lashes.
One look and she could tell he wasn't buying what she was trying to sell him. Groaning a bit, she rubbed her head again and let it fall back against the challenger. With him sitting there right before her, all those mixed up emotions came flooding back and she didn't really know whether she wanted to hug him or kick him. She supposed it was a bit of both for both of them. He probably wasn't all that happy with HER either. As she gazed at him those precious, stolen moments of happiness replayed in her mind and opened a wound she'd thought she'd healed.
"Uh... I'm guessing you didn't follow me out here just to make out like two frisky teenagers so I'm supposing your wanting some explanations...."
Then, wanting to smack herself for her flippant words, Jess grimaced and eyed him warily.
"Its good to see you looking whole and healthy, Andy.... You haven't changed a bit... The last year has been good to you..."
Falling silent again, the huntress could only stare at him hungrily and take in his presence. There had been a time when this man's smile could turn her inside out and she'd thought a normal life might just have been possible. That was, until the demon possessing him had tried to kill her and she'd been forced to shoot him before trying to exercise the nasty thing. The slug had only slowed the demon down a tad but it had given her time cross over the area she had set for a trap. Before she could finish the circle, however, it had laughed and left Andrew for dead on the floor feet from her.
In those horrible moments, she'd lived a nightmare thinking she'd killed the only other person in the world she cared about besides her drunken father. The last few hours by his side had been filled with pain, horror and complete self loathing. She'd rushed him to the hospital and stayed for two days before the doctors had assured her he would live. Unable to face him waking up and asking questions, she left him a not and took off like a bat out of hell.
It had about killed her to see him in the bed that she had put him in and she'd vowed to never open herself up to that sort of pain again. She'd held to that vow until Dean Winchester had come along to knock her off her feet.

Andrew stared silently at the beautiful huntress. It was hard to believe a year had already passed since they last saw each other. It figured that he had to pick the seat beside Jessie on the one night he vowed to forget everything and just enjoy a football game. For a moment he recalled how painful it was to wake up in that hospital bed surrounded by unfamiliar faces. He also felt the guilt of having allowed himself to become possessed. Andy could never forgive himself for trying to harm someone he cared so deeply about, in control or not. Though he would never openly admit his feelings from back then, he would have settled for a simple face to face goodbye that day.
Suddenly the silence that surrounded them was broken by Jessie’s sweet voice. Andy listened to her words and knew right away that the young woman was trying to dodge the real conversation that needed to take place. “Yep, it was pretty interesting… a good game too.” He smiled, revealing those dimples once again. “But it doesn’t compare to seeing you here.” The hunter quickly added.
Andy slowly moved forward and sat beside the pretty brunette. Resting his back against her challenger, he turned to look at her with those soft blue eyes just in time to catch her warily gaze. It was suddenly apparent to Andrew that he wasn’t the only one that felt pain over how they left things. He knew that what happened to her was far worse. After all, she was the one who had been attacked and left with no choice but to pull the trigger.
The hunter let out a heavy sigh. What he was currently feeling was unexplainable. He wanted to hold Jessie in his arms, but he didn’t want to give off the wrong impression. The feisty huntress still held a piece of his heart and she always would, no matter what direction their relationship took.
“I could say the same about you,” He laughed in response to her words of how he hadn’t changed. It was true, he was the same old southern gentleman, but he wasn’t too sure he believed that the year had been good to him. On the inside it felt like he aged 50 years, what with all the drama and all. “You’re looking stunning, as always.” Andy gave a charming smile. He found himself unable to stand it anymore. Seeing past the front she put up, he knew the pain she carried for what they once had and lost so tragically.
Andrew wrapped his arm around Jessie’s neck and gently pulled her closer into a protective embrace. “I’m sorry…” He whispered softly. Originally he had imagined himself demanding an explanation, but now that he found himself sitting beside her under the moonlight all he could do was apologize for the pain he had previously caused her.

The moment Andrew's arms went around her, Jessie knew she was going to lose it. The feelings it brought back were so intense they were bittersweet and she wanted to beat on something to relieve the pain.
“I’m sorry…”
Oh hell.... He just had to go and say that, didn't he? Didn't it just figure he'd take the wind right out of her sails with that one. Jessie had no idea how to handle the situtation but she knew she had to say something.
"I'm sorry, too, Andy..... I'm a whole lot sorrier than you will ever know but we both came out of it alive... I guess that is the important part, right?" she said slowly, torn between throwing her arms around him to hug the hell out of him and wanting to put some distance between them so that she could think. "Honestly, neither one of us were at fault for what happened back then but it doesn't make it any easier realizing that does it? I thought I had killed you...I wanted to die myself when that damned demon left you lieing there in a pool of blood that I caused."
Closing her eyes, Jessie allowed herself the comfort of his arms for a few moments while she tried to push the horrific memories back. Those few weeks in Alabama had been some of the best of her life but they were also some of the worst.
"I'm sorry I took off like that... I mean... I stayed until they said you were going to be OK but I figured it would be best for us both if I just disappeared..... Niether one of us were in any shape to deal with the fall out and .. well... It was obvious that being around me wasn't real good for your health.... I felt as if I should have known what was going on and I should have seen the signs... but.. I didn't."
Taking a deep breath, she pulled away and looked at him.
"I wasn't even sure if you would know me when you woke up... whether you would even remember meeting me or anything...."

Relief flowed through Andrew’s body and mind; he finally was able to hold the beautiful huntress in his arms again. He needed to know that what he was seeing was real, that she really was sitting beside him in perfectly good health. Holding Jessie was the proof he needed. Resting his head against her own, he listened quietly to her words.
“I'm sorry, too, Andy..... I'm a whole lot sorrier than you will ever know but we both came out of it alive... I guess that is the important part, right?”
Andrew nodded his head, she was absolutely right. Why dwell on the past? They both made it out alive, that was all that mattered. Besides, he would have preferred death over hurting Jessie in his possessed state. “Oh and let’s not forget, now I’ve got yet another badass scar. It’s a good icebreaker at the bar.” He laughed half jokingly and then listened as she continued.
As Jessie explained herself and the reasons behind her actions, Andy just continued to hold her while soaking in everything she was saying. It was a strange sight. Two people sitting on the gravel against a car, in the dark, outside a high school football game, but he could care less about that. As much as he needed to hear her words, he knew she needed to say them just as badly.
Feeling the pretty brunette pull away, the hunter looked down and into her entrancing eyes. “Nothing could make me ever forget meeting you, Jessie.” He smiled wholeheartedly. “I will admit, it was hard waking up in that hospital bed only to learn you had left, but it’s like you said… The important thing is we both came out of it alive.”
Andrew slowly got to his feet and offered his hand to the young woman, even though he was well aware she in no way needed help standing. It was just him being his polite self. “Nice car, by the way.” He grinned. “My old girl is around somewhere…” Andy let out a laugh speaking of his rusting 1988 Ford Ranger.

“Nothing could make me ever forget meeting you, Jessie.” He smiled wholeheartedly. “I will admit, it was hard waking up in that hospital bed only to learn you had left, but it’s like you said… The important thing is we both came out of it alive.”
As he offered her his hand, Jess allowed him to pull her up and then stood awkwardly by his side. She didnt know where this had left them but she found herself strangely unwilling to just walk away. There was still some piece of her heart that belonged to this man even if she was madly, deeply and completely in love with Dean. Maybe it was a case of him simply being her first love but she suddenly didn't want to see him just walk out of her life again.
“Nice car, by the way.” He grinned. “My old girl is around somewhere…”
Smiling a bit, the huntress rolled her eyes and then patted her car on the hood.
"This is my baby.... Guess you don't remember her. My dad and my brother rebuilt her for me as a suprise for my 21st birthday... Right before Trey's accident..."
Growing silent for a moment, she frowned and looked back at him.
"Trey's alive, Andrew... Turns out he had amnesia for about 2 years and then spent time searching for me and dad since Mom had died and we weren't exactly staying in one spot long. After you and I .. well.. after I left you in the hospital, I got in a bad spot with a gjinn and he showed up in time to save me. Talk about a major shock."
Rubbing her forhead, Jessie flipped a long lock of hair out of her face.
"Man.... So much as happened.... Listen, you wanna grab a cup of coffee?" she said impulsively.

Andrew stared silently at the beautiful huntress with those soft blue eyes as he helped her off the ground. He found it difficult to let go and held onto her hand for a few extra seconds. Finally he released his gentle grip with a smile. For a moment his mind wandered onto the information he had learned not long ago. That Jessie was in a steady relationship with Dean Winchester. Andy had to keep from groaning at the thought. It was no secret that the guy was a womanizer and he didn’t feel like having to go to jail for assault should the guy break Jessie’s heart or hurt her in anyway. Taking in a deep breath, he prepared himself to ask about her love interest, but he stopped when he noticed the brunette about to speak.
“This is my baby.... Guess you don't remember her. My dad and my brother rebuilt her for me as a suprise for my 21st birthday... Right before Trey's accident...”
Blinking in confusion, Andrew tried to recall the past memory of the car only to come up empty. “Well, you know my long term memory ain’t the best… probably all that alcohol,” He laughed. “Either way, she’s a beauty. She doesn’t compare to the driver though.” Andy grinned with those dimples. So maybe the hunter was laying it on a little thick. He knew that Jessie would understand he meant well. Suddenly he noticed the look on her face, it instantly sent his heart crashing and the grin quickly faded.
“Jessie…” He spoke out softly, unsure what he could say to help ease the pain brought up by memories of Trey’s accident. Andrew listened quietly as the young woman explained how her twin brother was actually alive and had saved her life. He found himself shocked by the news but at the same time very happy for Jessie. “That’s… I don’t even know what that is! Amazin’ and- You know what words can’t begin to cover how wonderful it is. I’m so happy to hear it.” It wasn’t the smoothest response, but he hoped she would understand what he meant.
“Coffee would be great. Lord knows I could use some.” He gave a slight yawn and stretch.
“Should I just follow ya in old Betsy?” Andy asked with a smile.
