Silence had set the tone for the ride back to her car and then to the apartment. Sammie was still trying to piece together what the hell had happened tonight and the expression on Sam's face wasn't really an inviting one. Instinctively, she knew he wasn't angry with her but at the same time, he seemed so distant that she didn't know how to talk to him.
Reaching her apartment building, the pretty young brunette got out of the mustang and then waited for him to join her before heading up to her place. Luckily, they made it without any snoopy neighbors peeking out and as Sammie opened the door, she sighed
Setting her purse down and kicking off her heels, she headed into the kitchen and took down a bottle of whiskey and two glasses. Pouring a healthy shot in each one, she tossed one back and then took another. Pushing one towards the silent Sam, the brunette finally leveled a look on him while holding her tumbler to her chest.
"Ok, Sam..... Out with it... Whats going on?" she asked in a solemn voice that was so unlike her normal, chipper nature.
Sam drove them both back to Sammie's apartment. His jaw was clenched tightly and his mind was full of thoughts swirling around. He knew he would have to talk to her, to tell her about what had happened and that would mean he'd have to explain a lot more. Not just the fact that vampires were really. There didn't really seem to be anyway around it.
So much for taking her out on just a normal "date", he thought to himself. He had know if he was going to keep seeing Sammie that eventually he was going to have to tell her some things. This WAS NOT exactly how he had planned on it going. She had been kidnapped and nearly killed by vampires and that was weighing heavily on him. He felt responsible and it was tearing him up inside. Maybe if he had told her about what he did it would have prepared her. He sighed heavily as he realized that probably wasn't the case. Sibeal knew full well about the supernatural and about the vampires and they had still gotten her too. He shook his head a bit to try and clear his mind.
They arrived at the apartment building and Sam followed Sammie up the stairs and inside. When she gave him a glass of whiskey he took it gratefully and down it all in one quick drink. Picking up the bottle he pour himself another one and tossed it back as well. When Sammie spoke he took a deep breath and knew it was time.
Without speaking he took the bottle of whiskey tucked it under his arm, with his glass in one hand he grabbed Sammie's hand and pulled her into the living room. He looked at her and let out a heavy sigh. Still trying to organize his thoughts on how to explain everything to her.
"Look... I think you need to sit down. This is going to be a bit shocking I think and you're probably going to think I'm completely crazy. If you want me to go afterward, I'll understand." Sam sat down on the couch himself, poured himself another whiskey and set the bottle down on the table. Waiting for her to take the seat beside him.
Surpise flickered over the young womans face as Sam grabbed her hand and hauled her out to the sofa. Blinking rapidly as he poured himself another drink, she tried to prepare herself for the worse and finished her own drink
Taking the bottle he had so thoughfully brought along, she poured herself another and watched him carefully before runnign a hand through her long dark hair.
"Sam.... take it easy....... I'm not going to kick you out.... I owe you my life..... Without you tonight.... I would be dead.... I"m not extactly sure what tonight WAS... but I know that it wasn't NORMAL.... If you have answers for me.. I would greatly appreciate it..... I'm scared, confused and alot of freaked out."
Watchign him carefully, Sammie reached out and took his hand before sitting down next to him. Her eyes were questioning as she leaned into him, needing to feel his warmth.
Sam's breath caught in his throat as she spoke again. When she touched his hand he nodded and suddenly felt a bit calmer. After everything that had happened, he knew that she was freaking out and it was strange how just her touch comforted him even though he knew she was the one that really needed the comforting.
When she leaned into him he wrapped his arms around her tightly. Smoothing her hair with his hand. He began speaking quietly.
"Ok... First of all, everything is going to be OK. I need you to trust me on that. I really need to know that you trust me. I'll always do everything in my power to make sure you are safe." Sam pulled away slightly so he could look her in the eye. Before he got into anything else he needed to make sure that she understood that.
When he started to talk again he pulled her back close to him. Wanting nothing more than to hold her tight for as long as he could. "Now... Obviously, what happened tonight was real. Those were definitely vampires. Uh... Real vampires... They aren't exactly like vampires in movies, books and tv. All the lore about vampires, almost none of it is true. You can't ward them off with garlic, crosses, holy water or anything like that. Even the sunlight thing is basically a myth. They can go out in the daylight even though the sun does sting their skin somewhat and bright light hurts their eyes. The fact that they feed on human blood, that part is true. Well mostly. We have run into a group of vampires that don't attack humans. They live on the blood of cattle... But that's a rare group."
Sam took in another deep breath and took a sip of his drink. He sank back father into the couch his arms still wrapped around Sammie. "There is more... A lot more. But that about covers the vampires I think."
Taking it all in, Sammie gulped but didn't pull away. Having seen with her own eyes what kind of monsters they had faced that evening, she knew he was tellign the truth.
Even before this had happened, the young woman had seen humans act like beasts so why should it suprise her that there really were other things out there that went bump in the night. She'd always suspected that there was more to the world than just stories and the fact that she'd had those suspicitions confirmed tonight only made his words more truthful.
Taking a deep breath, Sammie looked up at Sam and saw his concern and even a bit of fear. He was truly afraid that she would turn him away by revealing all this to her and she couldn't think of any other way to reassure him than lay her head on his shoulder and give his hand a squeeze.
"I suppose this is where I am suppose to break down into female hysterics and start screaming and shouting? Sorry, sweetie.... But I'm to tired for any more drama tonight.... This stuff your telling me... I'm sure I will have questions in the morning but I believe you... I'm only thankful that you were able to arrive in time... and that you actually knew what to do in order to save us. Obviously, you must have done this before and there is a hell of a lot more to to your story than what you've told me... I suppose if Vampires are real..... Werewolves and witchs are too?" she whispered simply.
Sam hugged her tight again. Smiling a little bit when she talked about breaking down into female hysterics. He didn't really expect that, no not from her. As she continued on he nodded in affirmation. She was on the right track. "Yeah... Pretty much. Almost every kind of creature that there is credible lore about is real. Demons, shapeshifters, ghosts, spirits, hell hounds... All real."
He took another sip from his drink as he paused for a moment. Gathering his thoughts to continue on. Now he had to explain what exactly it was that he did.
"To say that I've done this before is a bit of an understatement. It IS what I do. Me and my brother. We're hunters. Not your regular go out and shoot Bambi kind of hunters... We hunt supernatural beings and creatures. Killing them or sending them back to hell or wherever they belong. My mother was killed when I was a baby by a demon. That sent my dad on a quest of revenge. He raised me and Dean on the road, he wasn't going to rest until he tracked down and kill the demon that killed my mom. A few years ago my father died too, killed by the same demon. Me and Dean just continued on. We finally found and killed the demon but it was at a huge cost. A lot of things happened, not very pleasant things and my brother and I have been through a lot. Now... Well... Let's just say there is a war going on and Dean and I are stuck in the middle of it."
Sam stopped talking then. Pouring himself some more whiskey and taking a long drink. He wasn't sure what else to say. Not sure what details he wanted to give her. If she asked him questions he'd try to answer them, but he wasn't sure he could tell her everything... at least not yet.
For a few minute after Sam finished talking, Sammie sat silently. Her brain was on a literal over load with super real information. On one hand, she wanted to laugh and ask him if he was joking while on the other hand... This explained so much. As she turned everything over in her mind, she watched him pour another drink and toss it back. Leaning forward, she plucked the bottle from his hand and slopped a huge shot into her own.
Lifting it to her lips, she wondered if she was nuts for believing him and then decided it didn't really matter. She'd seen what she'd seen tonight and it wasn't something that could be rationally explained away. For better or worse, she was going to have to put her trust in him.
"Ok... all right.... So...all those mythical beings exist..... Not suprising really I guess.. they say every myth has a grain of truth so I guess this just proves it. It also explains all those unsolved stories about monsters and psychopaths..... Kind of feels like a warped version of the Wizard of Oz but I can deal with that.... Vampires, Werewolves and Demons, OH MY!..... I'm not exactly one to scoff with my preminitions.... It explains the evil I feel at times....."
Tossing back her whiskey, she turned her blue eyes upon her companion and stared at him hard.
"I assume this is all why you didn't want to tell me alot about yourself? Were you planning on just disappearing?" she asked softly before eyeing him carefully. "Where exactly does this all leave us, Sam? I mean.... Granted, we just meet but... I thought maybe we had a connection..... Am I keeping you from something you need to do? Or am I just a distraction from your trials?"
As she spoke, there was no condemnation in her tone but a wealth of understanding.
"This war...... What exactly is it? How does it involve you?"
Sam continued to nod in agreement with her while she spoke. Until she got to the part about him. He blinked in surprise, taken a bit off guard by her questions. That wasn't what he had expected her to question after everything he had told her. He was ready to answer questions about the monsters but he honestly hadn't thought about her having doubts about him and what they had together.
"Uh... What? Wait a minute. Give me a second here." How stupid could he be. He had just told her he hunted demons for a living and she had already known he traveled frequently, not doubt she had to wonder.
"Sammie... No I wasn't planning on disappearing. I... I... I really hadn't thought about the fact that I might have to leave. We DO have a connection. I want to be here with you. I think things might be a bit different now."
Sam wasn't sure what to say. How to explain things. He certainly didn't want her to think that he was just going to pick up and leave. Especially not now. "I don't know really... But I think we're supposed to be here. I mean, sometimes certain places have a tendency to attract supernatural forces to it. Maybe that's how we ended up here. Not only that but there are other things to keep us here. I mean... weird as it may seem, even Dean has been seeing someone. Something, that trust me, is highly unusual for him to get attached to a woman. I know he's in no hurry to leave. Neither am I. Even if we had to go track down a demon or something, it doesn't mean I wouldn't come back. As far as my part in this 'war'... Me and Dean, we fight it. I mean.... It's complicated but it's the whole good vs evil thing and Dean and I ... Well... We are caught up in it... Fighting to keep the world safe I guess you could say." Ok...that just sounded really stupid he thought. He shook his head and ran his hands through his hair. Why did that make it sound like they were some kind of superheros or something. Yeah... maybe they weren't just your normal guys... they had been sucked into this fight and have a role to play in it he supposed. He made a little growling noise in frustration. What was he supposed to tell her now? That he was the biggest freak of the week? Right now he just couldn't tell her that much. He took another drink and then sat back and gritted his teeth. Then looked Sammie in the eye before he spoke again.
"I'm not going to just leave you Sammie. We have something good here. At least I thought so. Whatever is going to happen with this fight, I still care about you and want you to be a part of my life. I mean... A lot of it is going to be up to you now. After all this... Do you even want to? Can you deal with all this? With me, what I do?"
for a long moment, Sammie simply stared at him before getting up and going to the huge windows that stared out over the campus across the street. Behind her, She could feel Sam shift uneasily but she didn't let it rush her decision. After all, this wasn't something you dived head first into without giving some thoughts to the outcome, was it? This was her life and instinct told her that being involved with the man behind her wouldn't be easy. Although they had only know each other less than 48 hours, she still felt more in sync with him than she ever had anyones else. He made her feel complete and at peace when they were together and she found herself unwilling to lose that.
Finally, shrugging her shoulders, she turned with a smile that spread over her face and gave him an impish look.
"Well, if your sure about that then.... I guess thats all that needs to be said. Life is what you make it and... Well.... I think your worth taking a risk on....I'm a firm believer in fate and I think there was a reason you found my keys yesterday... or.. the day before yesterday.... As long as you promise to tell me things when you can..... I think we can work it out."
Moving back towards him, she sobered a bit.
"I'm not going to pretend I understand everything you've just said.... I have a feeling it would be impossible.... and I'm sure I will freak out at times and have lots of questions...But....I think we've disgussed it enough for tonight.... I think we've both had enough drama for the evening and right now... Right now, i just want you to hold me....."
Rubbing her hands up and down her arms, the pretty brunette tried to ward off a bone deep chill as she remembered the evenings events.
"I don't want to think about it any more tonight, Sam.. I just want to forget for a little while..."
Sam knew it was a lot for her to take in. He knew she was going to have more questions later. Right now he was pretty happy that she hadn't told him to take a hike. Watching as she went to stare out the window. Knowing she was still mulling over what he had just said. Smiling softly as she began to speak again.
"Yeah Sammie... I really want this to work out too. I mean it. I want to see where this takes us. I mean us, you and me... Not the demon part." As she moved back to him he reached out for her. Pulling her to sit back down with him while a shiver ran through her.
"You're right. No more need to talk about it right now. Been through enough for the night. Everything will be alright Sammie."
He hugged her to him on the couch. Holding her tight for a few minutes before he pulled back just a little. Enough so he could look at her face. He brought a hand up to her face, pulling it close to him. Letting his lips find hers and kissing her softly at first but deepening as he let it linger. This was all he wanted right now as well. Just to be with her.
Once back in Sam's arms, the young woman leaned into to him and felt a measure of peace steal over her. When he pulled away, she made a soft sound of denial and then he was kissing her softly. There was such tenderness in his touch that Sammie was reassured that this wasn't just about pleasure. There was something more going on between them and she could feel it with every caress.
"Lets go to bed, Sam.." she whispered when they both finally pulled back for air.
Standing up, Sammie offered him her hand and then pulled him towards her bedroom. While last night had been about desire, tonight was about passion and becoming one.Reaching the bedroom, Sammie let her hands trail over his chest and then tugged his shirt up and over his shoulders. Reaching up, she wrapped her arms around his neck and gave into a need she wasn't even aware she had. Feeling his heat against her comforted her in a way she'd never dreamed possible.
"When I saw you tonight, Sam..... I was so glad it was you.... Make love to me? Please? Make the memory of that monsters touch go away?"
Sam willingly let her lead him off to the bedroom... Standing still and letting her pull his shirt off. He swallowed thickly and licked his lips. Looking down at her with a warmth and softness in his eyes. He needed her as much as she needed him and he didn't question it when she asked him to make love to her.
Scooping her up in his arms he laid her back on the bed. He quickly kicked off his shoes and socks before he turned his attention back to her. He let his fingers touch her softly.
Finding the bottom edge of her silky top and pulling it up and over her head. Tossing it down to the floor.
Letting his body ease down to rest on top of her... His skin feeling warm everywhere her skin touched his. Pushing her dark hair out of her face he kissed her tenderly but passionately. Letting his hands slide up and down her soft silky skin. The feelings inside him making his body feel electrified with every touch.
Watching him with heated eyes, Sammie allowed him to tug away her clothing and then sighed as his skin touched hers. With just the slightest touch, he sent sparks through her veins.
Running her hands up his arms, the young woman gazed up into his eyes and smiled softly. Raising her head so that their lips meet once more, she poured her heart and soul into a kiss. Pulling him closer, she lost herself to the feel of his heart beating with hers.
When he was slow to give her what she wanted, she gave him a gentle shoove and rolled them both over until he was on his back and she was able to nibble at the exposed skin at his neck. Pressing kisses against the vein that pulse with life, Sammie then sat up and discarded the lacy bra she'd worn under her outfit before leaning back down and kissing him fiercely again. From there, everything was forgot but the passion they shared between them and it was a long time before either rested.
Sam let himself give in to what he was feeling. Letting the passion he felt take over. Everything was intensified. Every kiss, every touch shot an amazing sensation through his whole body. He didn't think about anything else. He just let their natural instincts take over.
Time seemed to be non exsistent... having no idea how much time had passed. Finally they both seemed to be exhausted and satisfied at the same time. He found himself entangled with her and his arms just naturally encircled her as they lay quietly trying to catch their breath.
Sam let his hand idly stroke her smooth dark hair. Keeping his cheeks pressed against the top of her head as her head rested on his chest. All he wanted was for her to feel safe with him. He had this overwhelming feeling of wanting to take care of her.
As their breathing settled, Sammie laid her head against his chest and was content. She didn't know what tomorrow would bring but tonight ... Everything was right in her world. As Sam held her tight, the pretty young woman slipped into sleep and dreamed of her prince charming
Reaching her apartment building, the pretty young brunette got out of the mustang and then waited for him to join her before heading up to her place. Luckily, they made it without any snoopy neighbors peeking out and as Sammie opened the door, she sighed
