Lost to his rage, Ben couldn't hear anything going on around him. He was completely deaf to the pleas from the people he loved, only his own heartbeat heard by him.
Growling loudly, Ben moved to tackle Curse to the ground, only for another person to suddenly appear in front of him, and tackle him back. Ben felt the force against him, groaning as he felt the wind knocked out of him, but it only stopped him for a moment.
Growling loudly, his rage fueled more by someone attacking him, or in his mind attacking him, Ben began to fight back against them, not able to see anything but red as he struggled at them.
"I'll kill you!"[/b]
That was all that was on his mind, hatred, anger, the desire to kill anyone that he saw as an enemy. He didn't even realize who he was fighting with, going all out as if his life depended on it. Growling loudly, he stopped fighting and reached out, taking the person by the throat and squeezing, doing his best to choke the life out of them.

Jo Jordan - Blair/Jordan Compound: Schoolhouse - October 2014Jo's focus was completely on Ben right now. He was out of control. His anger and heartbreak had him needing to lash out. Unfortunately he was extremely dangerous as he was skilled in fighting and also armed.
As Jo wrestled with Ben he began to fight back even more. She just wanted to get him to calm down but it was not working. When Ben screamed at her. "I'll kill you!" Jo knew he was too far gone for reasoning with him. The continued to struggle and fight. Jo suddenly found herself held by the throat and Ben's hand tightening around it. The look in his eyes terrified her. It was like Ben wasn't even there anymore. He was empty, devoid of his humanity.
With tears in her eyes Jo reached down and pulled the .45 automatic from the holster strapped to her thigh. It was getting harder to breathe as Ben kept squeezing her throat. She had to move fast and made a quick decision Finally getting the gun in her hand she gripped it around the middle and brought her arm up quickly. Swinging as hard as she could, she felt the butt of the weapon slam into the side of Ben's head.
After hitting Ben with the gun she felt his grip loosen. She saw him collapse to the ground. Jo wasn't far behind as her knees buckled and she slid down landing on her hands and knees. Taking in big gasping breaths.
Tears were streaming down her face again. She could believe what she had just done. No matter how necessary it had been. When she got to breathing fairly normal again she brought her gaze up to find Curse. That was when she realized that Erik was there. She gave them both a nod but couldn't speak. Everything was just a mass of confusion in her head. How could all of this be happening here. She pushed herself back and sat down on the ground. Looking at Ben's still form in front of her. Not sure at all what she was supposed to do now

Holding his friends limp body in his arms, Curse was just starting towards the others when Ben errupted in a mass of wild fury. With his hands full, there was nothing he could do but watch as the kid came barreling at him, screaming his grief.
Faced with the choice of either dropping Lexi and dealing with the teenager or taking a beating while at a disadvantage, the hunter furiously tried to come up with a strategy only to have his wife tackle Ben to the ground. As they rolled around, he discarded one idea after another as he tried to come up with a way to help the young man deal. He completely understood the young man's grief but the boy didn't have the maturity it took to deal with it rationally.
From out of nowhere, he saw a flash of movement and then Erik Kincaid was striding towards the combatants just as the teen grabbed Jo by the throat and Curse's protective instincts went full mode. Before he could react, however, Jo cold cocked Ben with her pistol butt and the boy collapsed. Practically tossing Lexi at Erik, the sandy haired hunter moved to his wifes side to look at her throat and then give a grateful sigh that it wasn't a major injury.
"You Ok, Darlin?" he asked, voice husky with emotion and concern.
Realizing that she would be fine, Curse forced himself to look around and then rubbed his jaw.
"We've got to get these two over to Sams. I think sedating them would be a good idea while we do what needs to be done. These buildings need to be burned to the ground and the sooner, the better."
Getting to his feet, Curse picked the slim form of Ben up and slung him over his shoulder in military fashion. He might understand the boys grief but that didn't mean he wasn't pissed for his attempt to hurt his wife.
"Darlin... Get the kids... We'll take them to Sammie and Sam's while we see to the rest of this hell."
Moving off, he nodded to the huge shifter who held Lexi and saw the questions in his eyes. He couldn't, however, respond at the moment with so many thoughts swirling in his mind. Lani waited with Kyrian, Haley, and their own four kids so he motioned her along, hoping against hope that this was the extent of hte damage for the day and having the gut feeling that more was to come.

(Across the compound after Derek leaves Curse and Lani)
Having left his mate and friend to do their thing, Derek DeVoux strode across the compound in the direction of Trey Coulters house. With his eyes constantly scanning the area, he tried to figure out why he felt the knot of dread in his stomach but nothing SEEMED out of place. Others were still going about their business while kids played outside different houses. All in all, it should have been a GOOD sign... Instead, he found it decidedly disconcerting.
As the Coulter residence came into view, the shifter frowned. Glancing at the other house in the area, he decided to stop by Sam's place first and get him to come along. That would save them all trying to go through things more than once. He hated to disturb the new father but with things being as they were.. It was better safe than sorry.
Moving to the door of the small house, Derek lifted his hand and knocked. Reaching for the doorknob, he opened it a bit and called inside quietly.
"Yo... Sam? Its Derek .. You here?"

Good God. Everything was going to Hell in a hand basket, wasn’t it? Ilani’s first instinct was to run over to the fighting trio and try to break things up, as she would have if the Pit hadn’t burned to the ground- talk about some irony right there- but stopping various children from running to their parents seemed like the most important thing at the moment.
“No, no!” She exclaimed, stopping the Jordan kids from rushing toward their mother, their frightened little screams tugging at her heart. “No, babies, it’s alright. Mommy and Daddy are alright. They’re just..um…wrestling! They’re wrestling and…see, there’s Daddy taking care of Mommy. Nobody’s hurt. See?”
Multiple pairs of innocent eyes practically glared a ‘you know, lady, I’m not THAT stupid,’ but she did her best to ignore them. God, how had things turned chaotic so quickly?
At first, she had no idea why Lexi had gone crazy and run off, or why Ben had attacked Curse. But, after listening to the screaming, she managed to figure the gist of the argument out.
God. Another body to add to the death toll. A good man, stolen away so damn prematurely that it just wasn’t goddamn fair. Man, how she wanted to go find this ‘God’ person and smack him silly for being such a—CRAP.
Diving to the left as Haley’s tiny body practically launched itself at Erik, she caught her daughter before the girl could run into the older shifter. Holy Googamooga, where the hell did he come from? Struggling as she tried to get at the familiar face, it was all Ilani could do to hold the kid back, while making sure the others didn’t get in the middle of a fight.
When Curse walked over and his kids swarmed passed her to get at their father, she stood and gathered Haley and Kyrian into her arms. Face stoic and arms tight around her babies, she looked up at the hunter with a sad little smile.
“What about Lexi?” She asked, casting a sympathetic look at the unconscious woman. “And Ben? We can’t have them be alone when they wake up.”
Lord, the crazy mindset she’d be in if she ever woke up to the knowledge that Derek was gone. Haley squeaked as her mother’s hold became painful, and the psychic loosened her arms with a grimace.

Sam Winchester - Blair/Jordan Compound: Winchester Home - October 2014Sam was busy in the kitchen having pulled breakfast together for Katie. She had wanted pancakes so that's what they made. Along with sausage, eggs and toast. They were sitting at the table eating with Sam doing his best to entertain his daughter. Managing to get her giggling, it brought a smile to his face. She was adorable and looking more and more like her mother everyday.
They were just about done with their breakfast and Sam got up to start making a plate for Sammie and cleaning up the rest of the dishes when he heard a knock at the door and then a familiar voice calling out. Raising an eyebrow he put the dirty dishes in the sink and told Katie to stay put for a minute as he went out to the main part of the house. "Hey Derek... What's up?" Sam could see the look on the man's face. It was etched with worry and concern. Something was going on and it wasn't good. Besides, he knew Derek wouldn't show up at his door right now unless it was something pretty important. Everyone knew Sam had put his foot down about spending time with his family when Jon was born.
Sam motioned the man into the house. Then giving him a quizzical look he waited for an explanation for the visit.

Jo Jordan - Blair/Jordan Compound: Schoolhouse to Winchester Home - October 2014Jo sat there still stunned and in a bit of shock. She slid the gun she had just used to hit Ben with back into it's holster as she just stared blankly.
Before she even realized Curse was there asking if she was OK. Here first thoughts were to spit out a waspish, 'NO, of course I'm not OK.' But the look on her husband's face and the tone of his voice had her swallowing that attitude back down. Then all she could do was nod and listen to him as he suggested taking the kids to the Winchester's place.
As Curse got to his feet, Jo did the same. Taking a deep breath and once again pulling herself together. She looked quickly at Erik who was now holding Lexi, meeting his gaze for a moment. It was all she could do though, she had to look away before she started to fall apart.
Jo moved over to where Ilani and the children were. Kneeling onto the ground and embracing all four of her children tightly. Then doing the same with Bastian and Simi. The terrified looks on their faces was breaking her heart. This is exactly what she, Curse and the rest here at the compound had been trying to shelter their children from. The thought of it brought anger to the surface now.
Picking up Tellie Jo looked up at Ilani and answered before Curse had a chance. "We're taking the kids to Sam Winchester's place. Then we'll come back and do what needs to be done here and at the gym. You can stay with the kids if you want. It's your choice." Jo kept a hold of Tellie and then proceeded to help get all the kids gathered up so they could go.
Without much more talking Jo started heading off in the direction of Sam and Sammie's place. Holding tight to her youngest daughter. Trying to provide some comfort but at the same time just wishing she could erase everything that had just happened. She tried to clear her mind, but until they got the children back into a secured location that wasn't going to happen.
Jo walked quickly, keeping up a steady pace. Glancing back on occasion to make sure everyone else was keeping up. Finally the Winchester home came into view and she let a little sigh of relief escape her.
Turning down the path that lead to the house Jo slowed her pace down a bit. More thoughts flooded her head. This was going to be very difficult. She wondered exactly how they were going to explain everything to them. Two unconscious people being carried in, one of them being held by Erik, who no one would be expecting to be there. Then there were the eight terrified children that they were trying to keep corralled as they walked to the house. She knew the sight was going to scream that something was terribly wrong. On top of that they would have to break the news about Maddie... And Max.

[Blair/Jordan Compound between Sam and Trey's houses. Joint Post with Sam Winchester and Derek DeVoux] DEREK As Sam came into view, Derek gave a sigh of relief before hurrying to explain.
"Curse and I think something’s up.... Trey's wife is in labor so I was on my way over to fill him in and thought you might want to come along so that we can all pow wow a bit. Jordan's gone to find Max and he's going to meet us over there.
Glancing behind him, he spied Sam's little one peeking out at him and gave her a wink that caused Katie to giggle and hurry back into the kitchen. Once she was out of sight, he gave the other man a serious look before adding.
"Normally, I wouldn't bother you but whatever is going on... I don't like it.... I've just got this feeling all hells breaking loose and we are smack in the middle of it... More so than usual." Sam Sam listened intently. Knowing the shifter's true nature he knew the man's senses were very reliable. They had all honed their senses over the last few years but Derek's were about the best of the bunch. When he mentioned Curse it just re-enforced the fact that this was something major, not just an inkling of something off. Sam nodded his head. Already having made the decision that this was important enough for him to go with Derek. He saw Derek give a little wink over his shoulder and Sam turned around to see Katie's back retreating back to the kitchen.
"Yeah, yeah... No problem. I agree, if you and Curse both think something is up, we need to check it out. Give me just a sec to get Katie settled in with Sammie and let her know what's going on."
Sam turned and walked into the kitchen. Giving Katie a slightly stern look as she looked at him sheepishly. He knew she felt guilty for peeking out of the kitchen. Sam couldn't keep up the facade for long and grinned at her. He picked up the plate for Sammie and then scooped up Katie in his other arm and then headed into the bedroom.
He apologized to Sammie for having to wake her up. Quickly apprised her of the situation and sat Katie down on the bed. Handing the plate of food to his wife he bent down and kissed her. Then he gave Katie a big hug and kiss as well. Finally he leaned into the bassinet and kissed Jon on the head. Giving his wife an apologetic look he turned and went back out to the living room.
"Ok Derek... I'm ready. Let's go." DEREK Waiting quietly for the other man, Derek looked around the small, cozy living room and took in how much that this place had become a home for them all. The last few years had been hell on earth no matter how you tried to rationalize it but somehow they had carved out this little nick in the world. Now, that very peace was being threatened and it pissed him off. The beast in him wanted to rip apart the unseen enemy.
Just then, Sam's footsteps sounded and he meet the other mans gaze. When he announced he was ready to go, the dark haired shifter simply nodded and left the house.
"Lexi, Max, and Curse just got back a couple hours ago.... They all came back sound but Curse started feeling uneasy about the same time I did. There was another group who came in last night but they seemed clean. We aren't sure what we are searching for... Maybe you can help us figure it out." Sam
Sam walked with Derek as they headed over toward Trey Coulter's place. Listening to him as the man spoke about the teams that had returned. Sam was trying to change his mind set. Get himself back into hunting mode. This had popped up out of nowhere and he needed to get his head back in the game.
As they walked along Sam stayed alert. Looking around, trying to pick up on anything that seemed strange or out of the ordinary. Trying to pick up on whatever it was that Curse and Derek had. Getting closer to the Coulter place Sam stopped suddenly, holding his finger up to his lips to indicate quiet to Derek.
Swiveling his head around, scanning the area he had thought he heard something. He listened intently now. There is was again. It was slight rustling in some trees or something.
Without saying anything he turned and started walking in the direction of the sound. He could see Trey's house off to the left. He kept walking toward the tree line then stopped again. Tapping Derek's arm he pointed toward a small clump of trees a little ways off. Someone was standing there.
"You see that? Seem odd to you?"
DEREK As soon as Sam stopped, Derek arched a brow and glanced at him. Instantly, he took in his friends pose and went on alert. Careful to keep his eyes peeled, the lean shifter moved in sync with the hunter and had already spotted the figure when Sam pointed it out. Brows furrowed, he nodded and then made a quick motion with his hand to signal he was going into the trees.
Ducking into the bushes, he quickly removed his outer garments and shifted into wolf form. He could move swifter and with more ease in this persona and he wanted to be between the suspect and the house where Trey and his wife were welcoming their new little one. Moving quickly through the trees, he slipped into position and let out a sharp yip. The sound attracted the man's attention and allowed Sam a chance to move in close.
Sam Sam wasn't sure what Derek's plan was but he watched as the wolf ran off into the wooded area and shifted. Catching on quickly he saw that Derek was making a distraction. As soon as the man that was lurking turned to see where the sound was coming from Sam moved quickly.
Making his way over to where the man was now looking around suspiciously. Trying to seem casual Sam looked at the man.
"Hey, how you doing? You ok? Is there a problem? I'm Sam. I'm sorry I don't remember your name."
Sam stopped again, keeping a bit of a distance between himself and the man as the man turned to face him. Sam could see there was something wrong with the man. His eyes seemed glazed over. It didn't take Sam long to realize what it was. 'Oh crap' he thought. This guy is infected. How the hell did he get through security Sam wondered? Though at the moment it really didn't matter. The fact was this was a major problem that needed to be dealt with. Sam kept his eye on the man. Trying to keep talking and acting like nothing was wrong.
That didn't last long though. The man's eyes suddenly turned black and with unnatural speed he lunged at Sam. Sam dodged out of the way just barely and then started back peddling quickly to keep his distance from the guy. He reached down and lifted up his pant leg and pulled the knife he had stashed, out of his boot. Then he stood there facing the man with the knife clutched in his hand just waiting for the man to make another move.
DEREK Sniffing the air, Derek growled low in his throat as he watched Sam approach the man. There was a rancid, sulfur type smell in the air and he suspected that it came from the man in front of him. It was confirmed when the dude suddenly lunged at his friend and Derek was instantly moving. Barreling into the man from behind, he snarled before latching his teeth into a tender hamstring. As the dude howled and hissed, the wolf bounded way in order to get another clean shot. As he did so, the man brought his own knife stabbing downwards and he felt it cut through his shoulder in a flesh wound.
Staggering a bit, the infected lurched towards the hunter and Derek prepared to leap again if needed.

Hearing the doctor, Shane tried to nod through the pain and felt Trey move behind her. Closing her eyes, the young mother bore down with all her might and the next bit of time was spent in natural progression. As one contraction crested and receeded, the petite blond prayed that their newborn would be healthy and whole. THat was all that mattered.
Gripping Trey's hand tight, Shane tried to rest between the pains but at least 45 minutes passed before she felt the baby crest. The agony was great but she knew that it was the beginning of the end. Another giant effort had the baby's shoulders emerging and then the new little one slide from her body. With relief, her eyes went to Helena's for confirmation about the little ones health.
"The baby?" she whispered hoarsely, leaning back into her husband. "Is it all right? I don't hear it crying..."

Though it was easy to fall into her professional mindset, the thought of putting off motherhood for the next hundred years hovered in the back of her head. Sure, babies were cute and the thought of having a child with a man she loved was definitely romantic…
Well. She was definitely seeing a downside to the whole scenario. And times two in their current world.
“It’s alright, she’s just fine! And whoo, what a head of hair!” Helena said quickly, her voice reassuring. Thankful that she’d managed to leave her bag open next to her, she supported the baby’s body with her palm and arm. Ripping a packet open with her teeth, she took out a sterile instrument and went to suctioning fluid from the baby’s mouth and nose. “Everything’s fine, Shane. I’m just suctioning out any fluid and—“
Its little chest expanding, the newest addition to the Coulter family let out a howl that informed the gathered adults to complete unhappiness. With a little laugh, she scooped up a towel she’d snagged from the bathroom and wrapped the baby inside. “I don’t blame you one bit, honey. You let everyone know how unhappy you are.”
Beaming, the doctor gently held up the squawking bundle for both parents to see, before carefully passing the baby to its mother. She’d have to weigh the baby, take some blood to do some tests back in her makeshift lab and grab some medicines for Shane to take, to make sure her bleeding stopped completely. But, knowing that this part was for the parents, she knew all of it could wait.
Forget waiting a hundred years, she thought as she stared down at the red faced baby, then back up at the Coulters. This had to be worth it.

Dare Buchannon – Outside of the Jordan/Blair Compound – October 2014…and right smack in the middle of FUBAR territoryAh, the smell of the open road; there just wasn’t anything like it. It smelled freedom, opportunity, intrigue and the dream of something better… And, oh yeah, also crazy, homicidal infected dudes, but really…he was trying to be optimistic, here. But anyway, all that was really a load of crap. The ‘open road?’ Ha, like that mother ever smelled like anything other’n dust, sweat and blood. Nah, what really smelled nice was a certain dirty blond, who never failed to make him insane. Good and bad. Arms crossed over his burly chest, Dare looked up at the high walls that marked the beginning of the Blair/Jordan Compound. The dusty road that led up to the territory was clean, which was definitely different, when compared to the car and skeleton littered streets that wound throughout the state. From behind him, the soft whir of a truck engine warmed the air, and he squinted at the guards standing at attention above. How the world had changed. Only five years ago, he’d been a petty thief, sometime murderer and all year ‘round convict, ready for his next and final stint in the pen. He’d come to New Orleans looking for his sister in an attempt to understand what had changed in him, how he’d turned from a normal no-good-hood, to some freak with the ability to go all X-men on the weather. He’d made a nice little hole for himself in the historic city, working up the courage to visit the volatile woman who, to this day, still snarled when she saw him… And, oh yeah, got knocked upside the head with his firecracker of a wife, who’d barreled in looking for a way out of her own mistakes, and who in the end, won his heart a second time. “Dad, are we EVER gonna move from here?” A voice whined from behind him, causing him to smile. Turning, Dare looked over at his daughter, glaring at him from the passenger door of the van. Ah, the teenage years; a guy had to love it. “Yes, Maria, we’ll be movin’ soon,” He answered, nodding toward the cab of the truck. “Make sure your brother and sisters are all buckled in, just in case things get out of hand.” With a grumble, Maria popped her head back into the truck and Dare had to smile. It had taken him and his wife a year to reconcile, during which he’d gotten to know his daughter again. A daughter who, he was amused to find out, had definitely inherited her mother’s lack of patience. From the muffled howling inside the cab, he could tell the twins were up; his other two baby girls, Kelly and Trina, now a whopping three years old. And knowing that they were awake, the youngest of the bunch, Tommy, was probably making a fuss from the van behind the truck, where Connie waited for the signal to move. It was show time…especially now that the girls were awake. All he needed was a pile of estrogen to really make his day. Climbing into the truck, he calmed the twins with a kiss to their little foreheads and put the vehicle into drive. The Buchannon family was one of the few to make a living for itself outside of a safe zone, and they specialized in…sales. Maybe the Blairs, Jordans or other families within the compound needed food or ammo. Either way, the Buchannons would provide. And earn a hefty profit. Sticking his hand out of the window, he gave a wheels up motion for his wife, and the four trucks that snaked behind them, each packing five men per vehicle. It was a different world that they lived in, but the buying/selling market would always be the same. Now, to start praying that his sister wasn’t on guard duty. Then again, all he really had to do was dangle Tommy, and the feisty woman went mushy. A guy had to love family.

Somewhere down the road... - October 2014 The world had changed, and so had he. Free of those pesky morals and humanity, Reese Preston was free to be the monster he had always been destined to be…and he loved every minute of it. No longer did the mirrors reflect that weak and cowardly part of his psych, it had been destroyed in that fateful night years ago, finally given up hope. His only regret was that he hadn’t managed to kill that annoying nephilim that for so long helped Reese keep him locked inside, like some caged animal. But the night he had finally been free from its cage had been glorious! He could still remember the wicked symphony of screams and death that followed…and the bloody red added such a nice touch to it. Ah…such glorious times were those, free to bring whatever manner of carnage and destruction he desired while the hunters hid under a rock like the lowly worms they were. How far the might had fallen. And from what he could see, another group of wandering stragglers had just found their way to him, he would thank them for bringing such entertainment…just before he killed them.

Blair/Jordan Compound - October 2014
He was running again, his respiration was ragged and he could barely stand, but he was running again from the terrifying darkness. And he could hear the screams that sent shivers down his spine, he could see every last one of their faces and they were all calling him a monster, a murderer. And they were right, he was all those things and worse.
His scream echoed through the night as his eyes snapped open. Trembling from the memories of the past and the dream, he could see their faces and hear their screams. The darkness had left him, but the memories had remained to haunt his dreams.
Gabriel had known the demon Belial intimately, had been his puppet and seen firsthand the villainy of the monster. But even now that it had left him, the memories remained causing terrible nightmares that frightened him to his very core.
The whole world was going to hell, one soul at a time. And each night he dreamed of Belial, that the demon would be coming back for him, to drag him to hell.
Curling into a ball, he eyed the darkness around him and shivered. He was free, but the darkness now instigated a fear in him like nothing else ever could.

Sam Winchester - Blair/Jordan Compound: Outside the Coulter Home - October 2014Sam watched as Derek swooped in and made an attack of his own. Hobbling the man, but not before the man slashed and wounded the wolf. As Derek bounded away Sam made a move of his own. Leaping and making an attempt to pounce on the man swinging his own knife as he moved in. The other man was surprisingly agile even with his injury. Apparently not even feeling the pain. But he did seem to be a bit slower, limping somewhat.
Sam went after him again. This time running straight for him and not bothering to use the knife yet. Using a tactic from Derek's book Sam tackled the man instead. Wrestling him to the ground. The man fought back, he was still strong. It took all of Sam's strength to get himself back in a position to use the knife. Rolling around on the ground with the man Sam ended up on his back. Sam reared back with his legs and pushed the man off with all his might. Sending him flying backward.
Getting to his feet Sam stalked toward the stunned man now laying on the ground. With a small evil smile Sam stared down at him before he bent down and with one quick power move, slashed the man's throat with the knife. The stroke hit it's mark and blood started to spurt from the sliced carotid arteries. The blood flowed like a fountain. Covering Sam as he stood there, taking in huge gulping breaths. Trying to calm himself.
Sam didn't care about the blood on him, he was immune. But, the blood all over the ground would have to be taken care of. They'd have to quarantine the area until they could take care of it. The thought came back to him. How the HELL had they let an infected man back into the compound? Little did Sam know at the time, this had been the tip of the iceberg. The two other members of this man's mission team had done much worse damage already.
