As Sam handled his business, Derek circled the pair with only a slight limp to his gait. His lips peeled back from his face to reveal savagely sharp fangs and a low growl rolled constantly from his throat. Then, as suddenly as the fight started, it was over. The younger Winchester brother pounced and destroyed the zombie with a final slash that had blood spraying everywhere. Thinking it was a damned good thing that neither one of them were suseptable to the virus, the wolf sat back on his haunchs and whined a bit.
Suddenly, in the distance, the sound of screaming reached his ears and then a wild, terrifiying wind seemed to rip through the world around them. The trees shook under the effects and Derek himself was almost knocked off his feet. Then, as suddenly at it started, it was finished. Wondering what the hell was going on, the shifter hurried to his clothing and changed back into human form before slipping his jeans and boots on while using his shirt as a make shift bandage.
Stepping out of the trees, he hollared at Sam.
"WHAT THE BLOODY HELL WAS THAT AND WHY THE HELL DO I STILL HAVE A BAD FEELING ABOUT ALL THIS??"
Just as he said that, the sound of faint voices reached them and the shifter turned back to the trail that lead in the direction of the rest of the compound.

{Somewhere in the outskirts of New Orleans - October 2014 - TAG Caleb}
In the last five years things had changed so much for Natasha, she lost her father but regained Caleb….in a fashion and the world had gone to hell in a hand basket. She still couldn’t believe that the pack were now helping the humans she use to despise, but she understood the reasoning behind this switch in the packs priorities, hell she even agreed with it but it didn’t mean that she necessarily had to like it or be comfortable with it. Ever since the demons had brought on Armageddon and their damn virus the pack had, had to adapt their goals. Yes she still believed humans were inferior and this damn virus had proved that but there was no way in hell that she was going to stand back and let Lucifer and his demon army take over the earth. For all their faults and annoying habits she much preferred the world with the human’s running it and if they had to ally with the humans to defeat the demons then that is what they must do, besides Natasha always liked a good fight and with Caleb by her side they’d lead the pack and fight to the last.
Stepping onto the veranda of the old farmhouse, Natasha made her way quickly inside, letting the old screen door slam nosily shut in her wake. The pack never stayed too long in one place, sometimes they camped out in the forest and others they squatted in now long abandoned homes, this old farmhouse was one of those, they’d been here a week now and had suited their needs just fine. Some of the pack still proffered to sleep out doors, others had taken to the barn and the higher members in the pack had taken residence in the house, the upstairs being the sole demain of herself, Caleb and Donovan who was still the packs male beta. He’d kept his distance since Caleb had returned and taken control of the pack but he still made her uncomfortable.
Entering the old lounge room, Natasha didn’t wait for Donovan to join them she announced her news directly to Caleb, after all they were both the packs alphas and they alone would decide on the information she was bringing. ”We’ve received news on another camp of human’s trying to make it to sanctuary. They want us to meet them in the Old Catholic church outside of town at midday.” Natasha paced the room her patience wearing thin, and she had to speak her mind yet again, it was a matter she had spoken off many times before. ” This is a waste of time, we keep risking our lives saving what we can so they can die another day or be turned into damn Croats, who then return to kill us.” Two weeks ago they had saved a small contingent of humans and sent them on their way to find sanctuary and what had happened? Less that a week later what was left of the group had tracked them down and killed 2 members of the pack before they could stop them. The human’s had contracted the damn Croaton virus. It was Natasha’s firm view that they should be turning as many human’s as they could, wether the human’s wanted it or not. If they continued like they were none of them would have a chance, human or wolf. ”I say screw giving the human’s a choice, we need to increase our numbers. Once we’ve turned them they’ll accept what they are…..hell, they probably even thank us.”

Caleb knew Donovan was itching to have a go at him, just lacked the guts to do it, to go against the pack and do his own thing. He was a coward, it was so before Caleb had left the pack and was a coward still, plotting silently and waiting for a chance to attack. If he didn’t need every help he could get to keep fighting he would have ripped the rat bastard’s head off long ago.
Now with things going to hell in a hurry, the one-eyed wolf knew beggars couldn’t be choosers. He would get any help he could, and any beer he could drink…even if it was a damned warm beer. It would be too much to ask for a working fridge? Well, he should be happy they were able to find a few warm beers regardless.
And things with the pack had been edgy, he wasn’t sure everyone of them was pleased to have him leading them as he was being back, but they had a common goal for the most part.
He caught her scent even before she entered the room, she stirred the animal inside him even that he knew it wasn’t nothing more than animal instinct and attraction. He listened to what he had to say and remained impassive taking another sip form the warm beer and frowning in disapproval against the warm liquid.
“And we are going to do it again if that means helping any of them get through to the camp, that’s not negotiable Natasha.”
It annoyed the hell out of him when she acted like this, the spoiled brat daughter of colonel Merrick. Maybe it was because she had a bastard for a father and never really knew what was to be human. Frowning and letting out a loud, fierce growl, Caleb stepped up and walked towards her.
“You’re NOT turning anyone against their will. If you so much try it, that will be the last thing you will ever do. I don’t care if the others skin me off afterwards, we stick to the plan and save them or we follow our separated paths.”
It was obvious on his face that it wasn’t open to negotiation. He wasn’t spending his last days being a bastard like Merrick had been.

Natasha’s nostrils flared and the hair on the back of her neck prickled as Caleb walked toward her but she stood her ground and refused to show him any fear, she was after all, her fathers daughter and the colonel wouldn’t have accepted weakness in any form from any of his men including his daughter. Caleb’s fondness for the human’s was clouding his better judgement, if any of them were going to survive they all needed to learn how to adapt and everyone needed to be capable of fighting, they needed more soldiers not more fodder. When Caleb reached her position he let out a low deep growl but Natasha refused to flinch and remained silent and still as he spoke.
“You’re NOT turning anyone against their will. If you so much try it, that will be the last thing you will ever do. I don’t care if the others skin me off afterwards, we stick to the plan and save them or we follow our separated paths.”
A low growl rose in Natasha’s own throat, ”Don’t threaten me Caleb, I don’t take kindly to threats” the anger in Natasha flared but so did other emotions Caleb’s show of exerting his dominance through threats appealed to her most basic of natures and she found it very enticing. He was after all her mate and the attraction she felt for him was unmistakable, even now in his anger she found him irresistible. She sniffed the air, inhaling the faint scent of arousal but couldn’t tell if it was just her own or his too. No matter how much she had tried to please him things had never been the same between them as they once had, there was nothing she could ever do to bring that back so she had to accept him the way he was now and just be content with the physical side of their relationship, being mates the attraction between them was undeniable, it was the emotional side she found lacking but she would refuse to let him see that weakness in her, the weakness she held for him.
”Our pack numbers are being depleted, we can’t continue to save the humans and fight this war if there are none of us left alive to do so. I can see that you aren’t ready to accept my idea and as my pack leader I have to respect that even if I don’t agree with it but at least consider a compromise. We offer ever human the choice to join us, rather than just rescuing them and herding them on to sanctuary. You know they aren’t going to be safe there indefinitely, eventually when there are enough demons and Croats they’ll come on mass and slaughter the lot. Maybe if we spell it out in black and white terms we can recruit a few more but we leave the final decision entirely up to them.”
She wasn’t going to spend the night arguing with him over stupid useless humans, reaching out Natasha took the beer from his grasp and skulled the remaining contents, the beer was warm but still tasted half decent, at least it wasn’t flat. She crumpled the can in her first and tossed it aside, all the while remaining in direct eye contact with Caleb, another growl rose deep in her throat but this one was different from the last.
”I’ve had enough of the humans, I‘m not in the mood to discuss them any more tonight,” With lightening reflexes she virtually sprang onto Caleb and devoured him with a feral kiss and then just as suddenly she released him, ”I’m in the mood for other much more interesting discussions…..”
Natasha turned and began to walk toward the old farmhouse staircase that led to the upstairs bedrooms, slowly shedding her clothes piece by piece as she walked. It didn’t bother her in the least that another pack member might walk in, as a member of the pack she was well use to nudity and the others had all seen her body on numerous occasions, Caleb however, was the only one allowed further liberties. By the time she reached the bottom of the staircase she’d discarded every stitch of clothing on her body and with out looking back she slowly ascended one step at a time, her hand sweeping along the banister as she went, gently caressing it. When she finally reached the top Natasha turned slightly to face Caleb and a sly tempting grin crossed her face.
”Care to discuss some………strategic man overs with me?”
Not waiting to hear his answer, Natasha disappeared down the old hall and into Caleb’s personal room.

Caleb stared straight into her fierce eyes, she was a feral animal like she always had been, born and raised to be a soldier, a killing machine perfect in every way. But she lacked something one couldn’t teach, her humanity. Like most in the pack, she was a stubborn wolf, believing that their nature somehow placed them above all others and blind to how wrong they were in that aspect.
“It’s not a threat Natasha, it is a promise.”
There were others that had once been human like Caleb had, but they had gone in too deep, liked the guidance he had. Maybe they could be remembered of that, but he couldn’t risk on weakening the pack any more. She was right to a point, they had lost more than a few pack mates in the last months. Maybe she was right about offering them a choice…still the idea didn’t settle well with him.
How many would accept out of fear? Out of desperation? And where to draw the line about the sacrifices that should be made? Those questions were on his mind, and the more he thought about them, the darker grew the conflict between his humanity and his survival instinct.
His eye was locked into her as she moved up the stairs, the scent luring him in and the animal part of him urging the wolf toward, anger and desire mixing inside him making his hear beat faster and his respiration grow slightly heavier. A battle between his human side and his animal instincts…and the human in him refused to be guided by instinct.
Turning around the wolf walked out of the house and into the farm, watching the others in there, more like a group of wary soldiers than a family as Merrick once preached when he was alive.
The wolf inside Caleb wanted to shed his skin and run free, feel the taste of warm blood to silence his thoughts of the war and the woman back in the farm house, and so he allowed a transformation to take place and the form of a white wolf took off in direction of the woods.

Natasha curled up beneath the cool crisp sheets of Caleb’s bed and waited for him to join her but her after a few minutes she knew that tonight she would sleep alone and she silently cursed him for his infernal moods and cursed the damned humans for causing it. The bed reeked of his scent, overpowering her senses and driving her to the brink of insanity. Eventually she heard footsteps outside the open door but she didn’t need to look up to see that it wasn’t Caleb, she could scent the wolf a mile away, it was Donovan who undoubtedly would be gloating at her failure to lure Caleb into bed,
Natasha peeled the sheets back and rose from the bed, she walked calmly toward the open door, completely unashamed of her nakedness. She stood for a moment just inside of the door and gazed at Donovan as if deliberately taunting him as he silently watched her but made no attempt to cross the threshold of the room. Donovan wouldn’t off course this room was Caleb’s private sanctuary and he would never enter it. Natasha let a slightly teasing smile cross her lips before reaching out and slamming the door shut in his face. Crawling back beneath the sheets she eventually drifted off to sleep.
The morning sunlight awoke Natasha the next day, to her dismay the bed was still empty, Caleb must have really been in a fowl mood last night. Walking across the bedroom floor she opened the door before changing form into a beautiful large black wolf then she made her way out of the house and into the surrounding woods to hunt. After a few hours and a decent feed she returned to the farmhouse and dressed, they would be leaving soon for their mission in town………to save more useless humans. After collecting her weapons and checking each one with military precision she headed out to the yard where the rest of the pack were gathering.

Connie Buchannon – Outside of the Jordan/Blair Compound – October 2014…and right smack in the middle of FUBAR territoryConnie sat in the van waiting for Dare to scout out the area or whatever the hell he was out there doing. Most likely worrying about his sister and her reaction to them showing up on her protected doorstep. With their crew intact no less, that wasn't going to go over too well she was pretty sure. The place was a fortress she thought to herself. She wondered idly if it felt like being in prison.
When Connie and Dare had finally realized they belonged together and there was just no getting around it, that was just about the time the world started to fall apart. Yeah, maybe there was a bit of irony in there somewhere but they had accepted their lives together. Happy for the most part, strange as it may seem to an outsider. They had banded together and choose to make their own way in the new world order. The offer had been made for them to stay in the compound at one point but they had declined.
Connie couldn't help but chuckle to herself as she watched Maria poked her head out the window of the truck, complaining to Dare about getting a move on. Silently in her head she agreed with her oldest daughter. Maria may have had her father's eyes, but she'd inherited a healthy dose of impatience and attitude from her mother.
As Maria pulled herself back inside the truck she saw her lean over the seat and check on the twins. She saw that they were moving, they must have just woken up. Almost as if on cue Tommy started to fuss a bit in the car seat next to her. Connie reached down and touched his cheek softly, smiling at him. Then rubbed his tummy gently while she made some quiet shushing sounds. "It's OK Tommy boy, we're going to be moving soon. Everything is just fine." Connie leaned over and kissed the little one, who was going to be two very soon, on the top of his head. Trying to comfort him until they started moving again. Then the movement of the vehicle would lull him back to sleep.
Letting out a heavy sigh of relief, she watched Dare climb back into the truck and gave her the signal to get ready to move. When Dare's truck started moving Connie put the van into gear and followed. The rest of the trucks behind her fell into line with them. Connie wasn't sure that this was a great idea to bring the whole team to the compound but Dare had been sure they could make some sort of a deal with them. It had been awhile since they had seen Ilani. At least with the kids along, Connie knew she wouldn't be able to turn them away. Even though Connie and her sister-in-law may not have been on the best of terms, both of them were suckers for the kids and Connie was excited to see her niece and nephew again.

Jazz Coulter - Blair/Jordan Compound: Coulter Home - October 2014Jazz went about the tasks of finishing up cooking supper then getting all the kids fed. She cleaned up the kids, cleared the table, put all the leftovers away and ran water in the sink to do the dishes later. Her mind kept wandering to her mother in the bedroom. Hoping everything was all right. She knew though that labor could take awhile and she would just have to wait.
Taking all the little ones out into the living room she got them settled down on the couch. They all had their blankets and their favorite toy. It was quiet time now. Jazz went and popped and old Disney movie into the DVD player, one that they had probably seen a hundred times by now. Then she let herself sit down on the couch. In the middle of the four kids. The twins, Jess and Dean on one side of her, Sean and Julie on the other. Jazz curled her legs under her and started to read her book.
The movie was just ending and the children had all fallen asleep on the couch when two things happened rapidly one after the other. First, Jazz heard the sound of a baby start to cry in the other room. Then, before she could even set her book down she heard what distinctively sounded like very loud growling coming from outside.
Jazz tossed the book down, torn between the two competing sounds. The baby crying meant she had a knew sibling now and wanted to go and see the new baby. However, that sound was a perfectly normal sound while the growling and rustling she could now hear outside was not. That took precedence in her mind and needed to be investigated.
Moving to the window she pulled back the curtain and looked outside. Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped open at what she saw. She blinked a few times as she watched what was unfolding not to far outside the house. It was Sam Winchester, another man and a wolf. A wolf she knew very well was Derek DeVoux.
Jazz watched in horror as the battle went on. She could tell something was wrong with the other man. Derek made an attempt to rush him and got slashed for his trouble. Finally when Sam cut the man's throat she gasped, then yelled out. Her voice ringing through the house. "DAD!! DAD!! OH MY GOD! Dad, come quick." She couldn't move. Strangely paralyzed staring at the horror that had just been played out in front of her eyes. Waiting for Trey to come out. When he came to see what was wrong she just pointed out the window, speechless.

Trey Coulter - Blair/Jordan Compound: Coulter Home - October 2014Trey moved in behind Shane, letting her grip his hand as he supported her back with his other arm and shoulder. Letting her lean against him. He did his best to help her focus, but they had been through this before. She knew what she was doing better than he did. It was his job really to try and be supportive.
One last huge push on Shane's part and Trey saw the baby slide out into the waiting hands of the doctor. He could see she was a girl before the doctor even mentioned it and he couldn't help but smile. As Shane fretted over not hearing the baby cry yet, Trey leaned over and kissed the side of her head. Then he pushed some stray sweaty hair away from her face and grinned at his wife while the doctor did her work and the newborn let out it's first wails. "Another little girl. It's a good thing I like strong women I think or I'd be in trouble." Trey gave the doctor a smile and a nod of thanks as he watched her hand the bundle over to Shane. With his arm around her shoulder he pulled his wife close to him. Leaning down to kiss his new daughter's forehead while Shane cuddled her. Both of the parents wanting to be close to the child so they could bond with her.
The bonding time didn't last very long though. A frantic yelling voice came from the living room. Trey looked at Shane and blinked a few times in surprise. Jazz wouldn't be calling him out there at a time like this for no reason and the tone of her voice had him on alert immediately.
With an apologetic look at Shane, Trey brushed the newborn's cheek with his hand before kissing it gently. Giving Shane a kiss as he jumped up from the bed and moved quickly out to the other room to see what the fuss was about.
Trey saw Jazz standing, looking and pointing out the window as he made his way over. The look of shock on her face was apparent. He was pretty sure his face took on a similar look when he saw what she was pointing at. "Holy shit." Trey muttered quietly as he saw Sam covered in blood standing over a body outside the house. Then he watched as Derek came out of the woods and approached Sam.
Taking a deep breath he let out a long frustrated sigh. What the hell was going on. This was not the way he wanted to welcome his new daughter into the world. Something was horribly wrong here. Giving a stern look to Jazz he moved to get his handgun from out of the office. Returning quickly he moved toward the front door. "You stay put Jazz. I'll go see what's going on. I mean it, stay inside." Trey could see that Jazz was shaken already. Having had a minute to calm down, it seemed whatever had happened was already over outside. He gave her a quick hug and softened his tone before he spoke again. "It's OK. I'm sure Sam and Derek have things under control. By the way... You have a new baby sister." He gave the teenager a wink, trying to make the mood a little lighter than what he was actually feeling at the moment. He didn't want to scare Jazz anymore than she already was but he had a bad feeling that what was happening outside his house was just the tip of the iceberg.
Giving another small smile of reassurance to Jazz, Trey headed out the front door. Holding the gun loosely at his side. None threatening but prepared just in case as he walked purposely toward Sam, Derek and the obviously dead man laying on the ground. As he got closer he could see the man was one of the team that had come back in the night before. That brought a sinking feeling to the pit of his stomach.
Trey gave a nod and raised an eyebrow at the two men standing over the body. It was obvious that Sam had killed him. Sam was covered in blood holding a the knife that was clearly used to cut the man's throat. Trey stopped before he got to close. "Hey, Sam... Derek... What in the hell happened here? Isn't that George Olsen? He and his team just came in from a mission last night. Don't tell me... " Trey's voice trailed off as reality dawned on him. It was the only explanation that made sense. Infected. The man had gotten infected while out on his mission. How had he gotten past security at the front gates? Where were the other two members of his team. All these thoughts started flashing through his mind. A minute ago he was on cloud nine with his wife and newborn daughter, now he was lost in a mass of confusion and anger. Somehow their protective perimeter was breached. That just wasn't supposed to happened. This wasn't good. Trey stared at Sam and Derek. Waiting to see if they had any answers.

October 2014.....meanwhile on the outskirts of New Orleans in an old long abandoned Catholic church.....tab Caleb and Natasha
Dakota sat quietly on the floor of the old church, her back propped up against the wall as she read from her mother’s book that she still carried with her. She found that the books words gave her comfort at least for some small time as she escaped into the much simpler world of Anne Shirley, if only she could escape there perminately. This world, her world had gone to hell in a hand basket or at least was on the precipice. A part of her was glad that her mother wasn’t here to see what had happened to the world but she still missed her mother and thought of her every day.
The demons and angels had brought on their Armageddon and the earth had been decimated, humans now lived like vermin fighting to survive and trying to avoid being slaughtered or infected and turned. She hadn’t heard from her aunt in several years and Dakota had no idea if Cassandra and her husband were still alive, they had gone to live in Europe before any of this had even started, Dakota loved her aunt dearly she was the only family she’d had left but she’d accepted along time ago that she’d never see her again, she knew that the day Cassie left even before any of this had happened.
As Dakota continued unsuccessfully trying to loose herself in the book, she found her thoughts drifting now to someone else that had once meant a great deal to her……still meant a great deal to her. Over the years she’d tried to forget Caleb and push the memories of him far from her mind but it had never worked and now that she was on the outskirts of New Orleans she found that her thoughts were drifting into that forbidden zone once again. She couldn’t help wondering if he were still alive and what had become of him. As a were, Caleb would be naturally immune to the demon virus that plagued the human population.
The last thing she remembered of Caleb was seeing him change form and disappear through the door as he left to take a morning run in the woods and she remembered how happy and full of life she’d felt that morning after they’d spent their first night together. For Dakota it had been her first time she’d never been with another man and to this day she still hadn’t been with any other, although she knew that Caleb would have had other lovers before she had never expected one of them to come walking through his front door that very morning. The woman had called herself Natasha and proclaimed that she was Caleb’s mate, something that had rocked Dakota to her very Catholic core. It had been hard enough for her to overcome her beliefs and be with him, she had truly loved him, but committing adultery was a mortal sin and in Dakota’s eyes a were’s mate was the same as a wife. Disgusted in herself and what she’d done Dakota had fled Caleb’s home and never returned. She’d tried to contact Caleb at work a few days latter, she had believed what Natasha had told her but she wanted to hear it from Caleb but when she’d gone to the Wolf’s Den, Natasha had been there and Dakota had quietly left, seeing it as one last sign that she had to forget about him. She’d left New Orleans that night and until today had never returned.
A voice brought Dakota from her thoughts as Roger, one on the sentinels burst through the front door of the church, proclaiming that they’d found us, her first though was the other group they had arranged to meet up with here in the church but then she saw Roger collapse to the ground as a pitchfork was rammed into his back. Dakota shoved her book into the backpack slung across her shoulders and sprang to her feet. Screams went out among the group and the children and a pregnant woman were herded to the back of the room behind the pulpit for safely. Dakota prayed this was a demon attack and that none of the infected were with them or they’d probably all be doomed. She leapt forward to join the other men and women as they looked out through a window to see about a half a dozen demon’s with their life less black eyes surrounding the church. The first demon tried to enter, scrambling over Rogers body but found he was caught, Dakota moved forward quickly as she saw the demon look up toward the ceiling to see the devils trap above that held him in place. Without wasting a second she stood just out side of the devils trap and ignoring the demons abusive taunts she began to recite the Latin words she knew off by heart to expel the son of a bitch from it’s human vessel and send it back to hell. Another demon had stimulatingly tried the back entrance and Tate the groups leader had dispatched him also. The humans had their traps and seals well in place but it wasn’t enough to stop the demon onslaught and before the next thing Dakota knew a bull dozer drove straight through the side of the church bringing down a part of the roof as a huge hole was ripped into the side of the old wooden building.
The onslaught began as the humans fought in vein against the demons, holy water was about their most affective weapon but it wasn’t enough and Dakota found herself fighting hand to hand as she tried desperately to stay ahead of the game but there were far to many of them and in the heat of battle she felt a searing pain across her abdomen, her hand instinctively reached down to clutch the site of the pain and when her eyes focused she could see her hand covered in blood and she felt herself sinking to her knees before a blow across the back sent her finally sprawling onto the floor, As she felt herself drifting off into unconsciousness she thought she heard the roar of motor bikes in the distance amongst the screams of the humans around her……….

Even in the distance he could tell something was wrong, even under the howling of the engine he could hear the screams.
They were supposed to escort yet another group of stragglers into the New Orleans camp, the group was a day late, they should had contacted them by now but it didn’t mean he was going to turn around and give up on them anytime soon. Caleb was going in early, followed by a few pack mates to check on their status before the rest of the pack moved in.
Now as he speed towards the church, he hoped he wasn’t too late to save at least a few souls. The demons had killed too many already, and if he could spare even a single life from them, he wouldn’t spare efforts.
And that’s why he was then crashing through the church’s windows, jumping off his bike before it smashed against a black-eyed bastard and pulling a couple pistols form the holsters and firing at the other demons before a couple of wolves jumped from behind him and lunged at the demons with deadly accuracy.
A frightening growl left his lips before the man gave place to the one-eyed white wolf, before the bitter taste of blood tainted his palate and his teeth and claw shed flesh from bone in the bloody battle that issued.
When the last demon vanished into a sickening trail of smoke as its host was ripped apart, the wolf turned back into the man. They would be back, Caleb knew it. They had only destroyed the hosts, and the demons wouldn’t be all too happy with that.
As the weres searched for survivors, one of them motioned Caleb over to where a woman laid on the floor. He could still hear a heartbeat, but it was faint, weak. Knelling next to her, he brushed the dark hair away from her face and his eyes widened at the sight of a familiar face…the blood had done quite a great job of masking her scent from him before, but there was no mistake.
Caleb hadn’t expected to see her since the time she fled years ago without a single world. Back them he had felt he meant more to her, obviously he had been wrong. If he only knew that Natasha had gotten to her that day…but years had passed and the world of mankind was facing its final days and every life was important.
Taking the unconscious Dakota in his arms, he ordered the others to go back, there was nothing else they could do over there.

Sam Winchester - Blair/Jordan Compound: Outside the Coulter Home - October 2014Sam was still standing over the body when suddenly the ground shook and he heard what seamed to be a distant scream. Then it was quiet and the rumbling had stopped. Sam turned his head and to look at Derek as the wolf shouted out to him. Shaking his head as he responded back. "I have no idea... But, it doesn't sound good. Something more is going on." About the same time Sam noticed Derek turn to look down the path he also heard what sounded like voices and people moving in their direction. He started to wonder who the hell that could be but before he could say anything he heard the footsteps of someone much closer.
Sam swiveled his head in the other direction to see Trey approaching them. Gun in hand. Sam took in a deep breath and sighed. Now there would be more explaining that needed to be done. As Coulter got closer Sam notice him hesitate and then stop. "Hey, Sam... Derek... What in the hell happened here? Isn't that George Olsen? He and his team just came in from a mission last night. Don't tell me... " Sam looked across at Trey, letting their eyes meet. Sam nodded as the man spoke. It seemed that Trey was starting connect the dots a bit. As much as he could, since Sam and Derek really didn't know what was going on yet. "Yeah, Trey. He was infected. We're not sure what's going on yet but it seems there is more going on than just this one hunter being infected. We were on our way over to talk to you when we found him lurking outside your house." Sam didn't know what else to say at the moment. All he knew was that Curse and Derek had both gotten a bad vibe that something was going on in the compound. Now this. Then there were the people who were approaching from down the path. There must be something going on there, it couldn't be a coincidence. Not to mention the scream and the earth shaken that had just happened a few moments ago.

With steps heavy in grief, Curse lead the small procession through the trees and over the trail towards Sam and Sammies house. The kids were crying and the hunter was struggling to figure out how this hell had been able to get inside their safe haven. Two family members were lost now and he wanted to beat the crap out of something or someone until he found answers but logic told him that this had been bound to happen at some point. Vaguely, he heard Lani and Jo comforting the little tike's and saw Erik cradling Lexi with worry in his eyes. They were all suffering from shock but Curse was instantly aware that it wasn't over as he stepped out of the trees and into the clearing that held a few of the other houses.
One look was enough to tell him just what had taken place and a growl escaped his throat as he took in the sight and then closed his eyes for a moment. Struggling for control, he shifted Ben and then looked at the other men. Sam was covered in blood and Derek was obviously injured but otherwise everyone looked OK. Trey was on the scene so he must have heard the ruckus and come out to help the other two. Thank God that they were immune to the damned virus. Sam would have to be decontaminated and the ground burned along with any clothing soiled by the blood but as long as that was the extent of the damage here.....
Seeing the other mens' eyes move to Ben and Lexi, Curse sighed and then glanced at Jo. She was busy trying to comfort the kids so he sighed and looked at Trey. Moving towards him, he waited until he was within talking distance and then told him in as briefly as he could what had happened at the school. Nodding to the figure on the ground, he finished with.
"Is that one of the men that returned last night? If so... then all three men are dead......"
Seeing the question in their eyes as they looked at Lexi, the hunter meet Trey's gaze levelly before leaning in so that the kids could not over hear him.
"Max is dead..... The third man attacked him at the gym.... He managed to kill the mother but ... there was nothing I could do.. He was gone when I got there...."
Letting that news settle, Curse thanked god again that his own family was safe and wanted nothing more than to pull his wife into his arms and hold his kids. Unfortunately, the horror of the day was not over and he didn't have time for that right now.
"Sam... Do you still have that medical bag at your house? We are going to need to sedate these two before they come to. We've got work to do before we can deal with the personal side of this hell."

[somewhere on the outskirts of New Orleans]
The journey to the rendezvous at the little church on the outskirts of New Orleans had been a rather non-eventful one, there had been no nasty surprises from the demons or their infected humans but Natasha was still on edge and it was more than just Caleb refusing her the previous night. She was well use to his moods by now, he came to her when it suited him, things had never been the same between them not like it had in the glory days when her father had led the pack, back then they had been a formidable pair both on the battlefield and in the bedroom but since Caleb had betrayed the pack and left it just hadn’t been the same after she’d tracked him down and convinced him to come back after her fathers death. Caleb had never confided in her and Natasha had never asked about the woman she’d found in his bed that morning she’d first walked back into his life. But then Caleb had never known she was there and what she’d said to the woman, if he had Natasha was sure they’d be hell to pay, she’d been very careful about masking her scent after the woman had left and she’d waited a few days before contacting Caleb so as not to arouse any suspicions. Natasha couldn’t believe how easy it had been to scare the dark haired woman from Caleb’s bed and his life. At first the woman had been very defensive and Natasha had thought she’d be in for a fight but the moment she’d mentioned that she was Caleb’s mate the other woman’s demeanour had changed instantly, she’d even apologised to Natasha before practically falling out the door. Human’s never ceased to confuse her, which is why she preferred to have little to do with them. It had taken every ounce of her self-control that morning not to rip the woman to shreds but Natasha had known better than to kill her, Caleb would have known for sure that she’d been there, it would have been impossible to mask her scent on a fresh kill. Still though she couldn’t help but want to tear to shreds any woman that had shared Caleb’s bed, he was her mate.
As they approached the old church they all knew something was wrong, she could hear the human’s screams, the demons must have beaten them too the humans, this was beginning to happen way too often and Natasha was growing suspicious was their a traitor in their midst or were the humans just careless, it didn’t matter now she had no time to think it was time to fight. Joining her mate and the rest of the pack she changed form quickly and sprang into action fighting alongside Caleb as they tore into the flesh of the demon’s hosts and ripped them to shreds. It was a glorious battle and today she was extra bloodthirsty, the demons she fought never stood a chance as took her anger and frustration and channelled into the fight and she was almost disappointed when the last of the black smoke dissipated.
After changing back to human form Natasha quickly checked on the pack before taking the time to redress, she’d been naked in front of the others so many times she could no longer remember and didn’t care and the few human survivors seemed too traumatised by the preceding events to take much notice, not that she’d care what humans thought of her anyway. Then something caught her eye, she noticed Caleb paying particular attention to a human, a female and she watched confused as he picked her up and cradled her in his arms, why wasn’t he leaving that to one of the pack, he was Alpha, it wasn’t his job. She took a step forward and caught a glimpse of the woman’s face and it seemed familiar somehow, her mind wandered back five years to the strange human female she’d found in Caleb’s bed that morning….it was her and every muscle in her body tensed.
”I should think that one is a waste of time Caleb, she looks to far gone to help. We best use our limited resources on those that have a chance of survival and not squander it on those that are sure to become rat food.” she knew Caleb though, he wouldn’t leave the human bitch. Natasha clenched her fists at her side and tried to contain her anger, if she were the praying kind she’d be praying right now the bitch wouldn’t survive the trip back.

Jo Jordan - Blair/Jordan Compound: Between the Winchester and Coulter Homes - October 2014Jo was too busy with paying attention to Tellie in her arms and the other children all anxious and asking about what was going on. So she was startled when Curse stopped and she heard the low viscous growling noise he made as he looked off in the other direction.
When Jo turned her head she saw what he was growling about. Immediately she tucked Tellie's head in close to her body and made to keep the children headed toward the Winchester house. They did not need to see this. Another dead body and Sam Winchester covered in blood. What the hell was happening? The anger and frustration had her so frazzled she had to take a moment to get a hold of herself again.
Jo caught Curse's eye and tilted her head in the direction of Sam's house. Hoping he'd get the message. She'd leave him to finding out what happened over there. He could fill her in later. Right now she wanted to get these kids into somewhere safe. So with help from Ilani they herded the kids down the path, away from the carnage.
When they arrived at the front door of the house she knocked. Then stood back keeping the children huddled around her and waited for Sammie to come answer. Poor Sammie she thought, she'd just given birth herself a few days ago. Now trouble was on her doorstep.
