Celina had never dreamed of college. Of course, she never got to be human long enough to really reach the age for college (still wasn't quite there yet either), but she doubted that she'd of thought much of the idea even if she'd managed to stay human. Her life was too much of a mess now to even consider college. Of course, that didn't stop her from visiting the same areas as those happy college kids did once and a while.
College students, she'd found, wasted a hell of a lot of food. Of course, she put it to good use. It wasn't quite as disgusting as eating other garbage, gross, but not disgusting. This apartment building was quite impressive as places to live went for students and that meant more food bought and wasted. That, she liked.
Cel made sure to keep herself well out of sight of the college students here. Either they wanted to tie cans to her tail or squish her with hugs, but neither option was pleasant. She was well aware that she didn't look like a full grown dog and it was obvious she was still a bit of a pup, but she was big enough to be one and that, at least, deterred most of them from trying to drag her home. Everyone wanted the yappy little terriers she saw around the neighborhood or an actual puppy. She'd eat a lot and they damn well knew it. She wondered if they knew how little she could survive on, but yawned the idea away. It was morning and she'd spent the night raiding the place's trash area. For the moment, she was full.
Using the sidewalk, since no one was up at this early, crack of dawn hour, she trotted off towards a patch of bushes. She'd left her backpack a little ways off and she was eager to get back into her human form so she could get the hell out of here before she ended up in some sort of pink little outfit, dragging a leash and with monster cans clanging behind her in a line. Now wouldn't the other wolves laugh at that one...before they ripped her to shreds, that is.
Yawning again, she paused a moment for a stretch and shook herself fully awake.

Sammie woke up before dawn and stretched. Feeling a warm body behind her, she smiled and snuggled closer for a few minutes before realizing she was never going to fall asleep again. Carefully extracting herself from Sam's sleeping form, she smiled down at him and then tiptoed to the bathroom for a quick shower and then dressed in shorts, tshirt and Sam's own hoodie.
Putting on sneakers, she quickly wrote him a note and then left the apartment. Dashing out to her mustang, she made a quick run to the local Starbucks and then was back home just as down was gracing the sky with a beautiful morning light. Climbing from her beloved car, she was just about to head back into the apartment building when she spied what looked to be a stray dog slinking away from the parking lot. Frowning, she set the coffee on the hood of the car and then carefully followed it. When it paused and gave what looked like a yawn, the pretty brunette took in its feminine head and then called out softly.
"Hey there, pup."
Kneeling down, Sammie waited to see what the dog would do and hoped it wouldn't flee in terror as some dogs were want to do.

Cel was just about to continue on when she heard the car door shut and looked back. She saw the woman kneel down and heard the greeting. Her nose tested the woman's scent. The first thing she noticed was that the woman was human. Cel could smell a male on her too, probably from the sweatshirt. Someone had made an early coffee run and the sharp, sweet smell of that permeated the area. Most likely this woman's boyfriend had sent her out for their morning coffee and didn't know that she now wanted to bring home a big, black, scraggly looking mutt.
Deciding to do the guy a favor, Cel wagged her tail briefly at the woman, giving her a lazy smile sort of look, and continued on. Cel was in no hurry to look like she was in a hurry. She walked slowly, as if she had no place to be. It was a very dog way wandering, but really it was a wolf way. The two were similar enough, at least.

Watching the dog, Sammie frowned and started to follow her.
"Hey Baby... come here. I wont' hurt you!"
Hoping to catch her attention, the young woman looked around and then frowned. No one was around and she was at a loss at what to do. Turning her attention back to the dog, she continued.
"Its a bit chilly out here..... If you come with me we can get you something yummy to eat and a warm place to sleep..."

In one instant, Celina was conflicted. Should she go with the bag or should she go with the food? True, she'd been rather uncomfortable about the way the woman had started following her, but ...food. She rarely got food as it was and the chance at actual food that didn't come off the side of the road or from a dumpster was incredible.
Stopping, she turned back towards the girl and licked her lips. Sure, she was full. Sure, she should be going back to the book that told anyone who read it what the hell she was. But food, glorious food. The boyfriend could be unhappy for all she cared. She could retrieve the book after her meal, when this human took her out for a potty break. Stray dogs ran away all the time, didn't they?
Wagging her tail, she turned towards the woman, ears back slightly and her jaws open a bit. It was a happy dog face. At least, she hoped it was, but this was what instinct had driven her to make. Now she just hoped this woman didn't mind a dog who didn't bark too much. She could stay out of the way of the boyfriend if he was really pissed.

Smiling when the dog turned back to her, Sammie moved carefully forward and then reached out to scratch her behind the ear. The animal evidently had decided she wasn't a threat and her tongue rolled happily.
"Good girl. I'm going to make bacon, eggs and waffles for breakfast... I bet you would like some of that, huh?" she said to the dog.
Just then, something under the bushes nearby caught her eye and she frowned. Standing up, she moved forward and pulled a backpack out of the branches. Shaking it a bit, she sighed and looked back at the dog.
"Hmmmm... Looks like someone might have been the victim of a prank and lost their back pack. The manager's office isn't open yet.... I guess we could take it up to my apartment and return it later...."
Patting the dog on the head, she coaxed her along.
"Come on, girl. Lets go get some of that bacon!"
When the animal followed her, the brunette headed back to the apartments and opened the door for it. Traveling up the stairs wasn't difficult and then they were on her floor. Moving quickly down the hall, Sammie was at her door in no time and the key opened it silently. Stepping inside, she set the bag down by the foyer table and then moved to the kitchen to put the coffee she'd retrieved on the bar. "Hmmmmm.... we'll have to think of a name for you, girl. What do you think of... Sadie?? I like the name Sadie...."

Bacon and eggs sounded great to her and, although she was loath to admit it, that scratch did feel pretty good. Any doubt of following this woman, however, disappeared when the woman found her backpack. Instinct told her to jump up and rip the damn pack out of the woman's hands and run off with it, but that would look way too obvious.
A bit more begrudgingly now, she followed the woman up a buch of stairs. Although she'd never thought of it before, going up stairs on four legs was a pain in the ass. She dreaded having to go back down. Her progress up was slow enough.
When they got in the apartment, Cel entered slightly behind the woman, her eyes on the backpack. She could hear the guy sleeping off in the bedroom. He smelt human too, not exactly normal, but human. At least he wasn't wolf. Glancing in his direction, she turned her attention back towards the girlfriend with her backpack. The second she went into the kitchen, Cel dove into her backpack, grabbed the journal and shoved it under the couch.
Quickly, she directed her attention somewhere else and followed the woman into the kitchen.
Sadie? She tilted her head, closing her mouth slightly. Her expression was only half impressed. She had intended to name a dog Sadie once, but her dad said they couldn't keep her and brought the dog to the shelter. The moment seemed a bit ironic now.

Seeing the dog's expression, Sammie smiled and gave her a pat.
"I take it you like that name? Sadie it is then. I think I'll get you a pretty pink collar .. or maybe a blue one... I think blue would suit you more.. You don't have that fancy, snobby air to you that some of those obnoxious dogs have. ..."
Going about the preparations for breakfast, Sammie soon had bacon fried, eggs scrambled and frozen waffles in the toaster. Tossing "Sadie" a piece of meat, she smiled and said.
Now.. I have coffee to deliver to someone really special so you be good and check out your new home, all right?"
Picking up the coffee cups, the pretty brunette headed towards the bedroom and then wandered inside. Seeing Sam still sleeping, she grinned and kicked off her tennis shoes before carefully crawling on to the bed and waving the coffee underneath his nose playfully.
"Hey sweetie... Time to wake up... I brought you something..... I think I deserve a kiss for it at least..."

Cel caught the meat easily and gobbled it up. She was very glad that she wasn't getting a pink collar, although she doubted that she'd be here long enough the actually have it on. Though dragging the bag out with her was going to be a bit harder to do. Even with just taking the journal, it made things complicated. She could open the door with her mouth, but not if she had the journal in it.
Damn this had gotten a bit complicated.
Licking her lips, she followed the woman long enough to see her crawl into bed with her boyfriend. She snorted and started sniffing around the room. This was the first wolf free, decent place she'd stayed in for a while. The thought of the wolves following her up here made her stomach turn. Quietly, she resolved to leave as soon as possible. When the two love birds went out, she could open the door for herself and then scoot off.
For now, the kitchen and all that was cooking in it deserved her attention. Like a dog who knew she was about to do something very rolled up newspaper worthy, Cel rested her chin on the counter. Licking her lips, she contemplated if it was worth it. Her mouth was seriously watering...well, drooling.

SamSam felt the bed shift when Sammie crawled across it and started to drift back up to consciousness. Then his eyes snapped open when the strong scent of coffee wafted into his nose. Smiling he sat up carefully, taking the cup from her. Holding the cup off to the side he leaned forward and kissed her lips softly but meaningfully. "You know, I could really get used to this. Nice comfy bed, way better than any motel bed, you bringing me coffee in the morning... You, just being here." He had just brought the cup to his lips and was about to take a sip when he noticed something and stopped. Staring for a minute then blinking his eyes to make sure he wasn't just sleepy and seeing things. But, it was still there. A big black shaggy dog that took a walk around the room and then headed back out down the hallway. "Uh...Sammie? Was that a dog?" Bringing the coffee to his lips again he took a sip. Peering up over the cup to look at Sammie. Though, now that he thought about it, it shouldn't be a surprise. Sammie definitely was the type to have a soft spot in her heart for strays.

As Sam stirred and then sat up, Sammie smiled at his sleepy expression and then revealed in his kiss. Her grin when she pulled back was as bright as the sparkle in her eye.
"You know, I could really get used to this. Nice comfy bed, way better than any motel bed, you bringing me coffee in the morning... You, just being here."
Tilting her head a bit, the young brunette felt her heart melt at those words. Although they hadn't known each other very long, she felt as if she'd meet the one man who could complete her soul. Corny, yes, but true. He was quickly becoming the very air she breathed.
"Uh...Sammie? Was that a dog?"
Jolting back to the present moment, Sammie glanced behind her and caught the tail end of the dog disappearing around the corner. Smiling, she nodded.
"It is... I found her outside the apartment building this morning and she looked like she'd missed some meals lately... I thought maybe I would put up some posters and see if anyone is missing their dog ... If not, maybe she would like staying with us. I've always wanted a pet but..... Just never seemed to find the time to get one, if you know what I mean? I always wanted one of those St. Bernard dogs... Someday, I'm going to have one.... "
Then, getting to her feet, she tugged at his hand and grinned.
"Come on sleepy head. I made eggs, bacon and waffles for breakfast and if you don't hurry... The dog may eat it all."
Heading for the kitchen, Sammie caught the way the dog was eyeing the food and tsked.
"No, Sadie.. Bad puppy! You can have whats left over when Sam and I are done!"

Knowing she'd just gotten caught, Celina removed her face from the counter and scuttled across the floor. She sat on the other side of the table and wagged her tail, putting on a good smile to look as cute as possible. Of course, she reeked of garbage and was covered in dirt...so that effect might have already been ruined. She had a sneaky suspicion that a bath was in her future. The idea didn't exactly appeal to her, however. She wasn't too happy about being called puppy either. The things she'd dealt with had already moved her out of that category.
Without another sound, she plopped down in her corner and put her head on her paws, watching the two. The boyfriend, Sam was it? He was huge. If she'd stood next to him as a human, she was pretty sure he'd be at least a full foot taller than her. He looked giant from her doggy point of view. Eventually, she'd have to go over and meet him, but that could wait until they'd finished eating. She could go see if they had anything left.
One thing she wasn't too keen on, was having posters of herself put up. She was pretty sure that she was about to have a sudden phobia of cameras or a good taste for paper. That was, she'd get one of those things if they managed to get posters of her made before they decided to go out. She prayed they didn't decided to go out with her in tow. She also seriously hoped Mr. Sasquatch didn't move the couch when he sat on it, because he looked like the ground could shake when he walked.
Smiling at her own joke, she sniffed the delicious aroma of bacon that was filling up the place. Hopefully, she hadn't left too much drool on the counter.

SamSam took a few sips from the coffee cup in his hand. Then rolled his eyes as Sammie started pulling his hand to get him out of bed. Reluctantly he set his feet on the floor and got up. "OK, OK... I'm up. Let me put some clothes on." Setting the coffee down on the nightstand he pulled on his jeans, found his t-shirt and slipped that over his head. Grabbing the cup again he took a drink and then followed Sammie out of the room, into the kitchen.
As they entered the kitchen Sam saw the dog with it's nose on the counter. Trying to get to the food. Sam chuckled as Sammie chided the dog about the food. Taking a plate Sam sat down and started to eat. Glancing every once in awhile at the dog. The dog was sitting in the corner and it seemed to keep staring at him. It was starting to give him the creeps even though he was pretty sure the dog just wanted his food.
Smiling at Sammie he ate most of the food on his plate. Then he sat back and drank the rest of his coffee. "Sammie, that was great. Thanks. You know you don't always have to feed me breakfast in the morning." Sam liked the feeling of being normal but he didn't want Sammie to feel obligated about doing things like this for him. He started to plan on doing something special for her sometime soon.
Letting out a soft sigh Sam looked down at the remnants of food left on his plate. Then he glanced over at the dog in the corner. Shaking his head and grinning he took the plate and set it on the floor and spoke to the dog. "Ok, come on. You can have it."

Smiling at the pair, Sammie watched at the handsome gentleman across from her started eating and then sipped at her own coffee. Helping herself to a plate, she finished about the same time as he didn't and grinned as he tossed some food to the dog. Picking up with empty dishes she rinsed them in the sink and then loaded the small portable dishwasher. Once the mess was cleaned up, she turned and eyed the dog before tilting her head a bit.
"Sam.... I think I need to get Sadie a collar. What do you think of taking her down to that Petco and getting her a few things? They allow the dogs in the store and we could buy her some of those cute little toys and maybe a bed to sleep on." she said thoughtfully before casting a grin at her lover. "It could be fun...."
Moving to his side, she plopped into his lap and gave his long locks a toss with her fingers. Giving him a playful little kiss, the pretty brunette wrapped her arms around his neck and then smirked impishly.
"What do you say, you sexy thing? Wanna go shopping with us girls??" she teased him. "I'll make it worth your while....Maybe we can stop somewhere on the way home and get a few of those guy movies you like so well... or something else that trips your trigger."

The second the rest of the food was on the floor, Cel dived for it and gobbled it up. The next thing she knew, there was more food in the plate. She easily downed that food too.
Wagging her tail, she looked up at the two of them, smiling. She took the time to lick grease from her muzzle and get as much of the rest from the plate as she could before the woman took the plate away. That had been the best meal she'd had in months. Usually humans kicked strays. Someone had even tried to put a cap is her ass before, so to speak.
Her smile faded the moment the girl started talking about going to the pet store and getting a collar and a bunch of toys. Raising a brow, she tilted her head at the pair as she crawled into his lap. Snorting, she took the moment to exit the room and explore more of the apartment. The bedroom smelled pretty interesting so she just squinted at it and left to sniff around some more.
Finally, she came back around full circle to the kitchen again.
